The Edison Escape RoomPalace GamesEscape roomIRLEdison started off strong and has lots of cool puzzle interactions I haven’t seen in other rooms. But we ended up taking 20 minutes on inputting the solution to a puzzle just because the input is so long, not because we didn’t know what to do. That sucked a lot of the energy out and every puzzle after felt like it would be the final, but they became less cool the longer the room went on. Trimming down would make the whole experience a lot more enjoyable.
I Segreti di Salazar [The Secrets of Salazar]Magic EscapeEscape roomIRLThis was a cool Harry Potter set with puzzles poorly shoved into it. The puzzles were often not near lights, so you couldn’t see them. You’re given keys that can fit into 5 possible locks and the cluing points at the wrong one. Feedback isn’t super clear and the GM can’t override any puzzles or shut off responses. There are things that look like puzzles but are just set dressing. I’ve seen someone rank this room as second best in Rome, which makes me worried about playing any other rooms in Rome.
Quest For The Temple of LightThe Keepers of BalanceEscape roomIRLI never expected to see this level of engineering in an American escape room. Whole room transitions, amazing effects, and a hardworking crew pulling it all together.
