De Wraak Van Han [Han’s Revenge]
De Gouden Kooi
Escape room

This was a blast! It’s my personal favourite so far, for a good mix of physical tasks and intellectual puzzles and great pacing toward a climax. The environments were delightful, complex, and immersive. Several wonderful "aha" moments.

Really delightful room! Now my top recommendation for Boston. I absolutely loved how the puzzles layered and the space continued to have fun surprises. Great flow and variety. It's not the most challenging room I've done in Boston but it is the most memorable and enjoyable. There was simply not a single thing wrong at any point, and many brilliant and novel features.

Incredible! This is my brother’s favourite room now (my second fave, after The Wrath of Han). It felt like another world from the very beginning, and it was exciting each time we worked something out.

A thrilling and clever room from beginning to end. The space is immersive and very dense with interesting puzzles and interactions -- several exciting surprises. Definitely the best at Red Fox, and I think the only one at Red Fox that really competes with Boxaroo. I don't want to say much more to avoid spoilers, but if you're at all tempted by this room, do it!

It’s easy to see why this one wins awards! We were totally immersed and engaged the whole way through. I’m glad we played all four of their rooms in order almost as a mini history of the development of escape rooms. They were all worth playing but the others would have felt like a bit of a letdown if we’d done this one first.

Even with a large group and what seemed like a lot of time on the clock, we felt almost frantically busy the whole way through! There were one or two puzzles where we got a little confused by a lack of verisimilitude in the props, but nothing was broken, we were just being thick, and overall it was an exciting variety of interactions with a lot of satisfying "aha!" moments. The theming was immersive and added to the high-energy excitement.

Might be my favourite room in DC! (Or maybe second favourite after The Depths?) My team of three escaped and had a blast. The set is thoughtful and in good condition. It took us a little bit to get some momentum going, but the pieces fit together logically and creatively, with a mix of difficulties. Not too linear, which is nice in a group— we could work in parallel. Every puzzle felt well rewarded, and everything worked as it is supposed to. The pre-game rules video is absolutely the cringiest one I’ve seen in a very cringy genre, though. Well worth the drive from DC proper!

Played with three: two experienced escapers and one total newbie. The puzzles did a great job of giving a clear “mission” at all times without feeling constrained/railroaded. A nice escalation between rooms; it was a lot more linear than it felt, which meant it could have a good difficulty curve. Best part was a really satisfying emphasis on physical interactions and environments over locks-and-keys.

Played with family: six adults with two serious escapers among us. We had a lot of fun: non-linear puzzles gave us a good chance to spread out and then the finale focused us together as a group more. The challenge level felt “comfortable”: we finished with a generous amount of time left, but weren’t bored. Several things seemed to have multiple clues/hints, which made it easier but sometimes felt like red herrings. The set design and theming was great, and overall I’d certainly recommend it!

I brought a group here for a party and we had a blast! A nicely dense and nonlinear puzzle room, with several unusually clever "aha" moments.
