Very fun, strong narrative and excellent attention to detail in the props. Puzzles flowed well and the experience felt immersive.

Professor BlackSheep seeks to recreate the original genetical experiment that turned him into a sheep. He has launched a cyber attack on our old mainframe in the hope of extracting secret data, along with the genetical research he's missing. In order to stop the Professor from breaching our firewall, you and your team will have to access Mr Q's old base. The only way in, however, is to shrink down to the size of a mouse with the help of the Shrink'o'Mat. Word of caution, agents: the technology you'll be exposed to is...a bit unstable and still experimental. You'll have only 60 minutes to counteract the cyber attack and secure the mainframe before the Shrink'o'Mat's effect wears off and things get messy.

While the mechanics of this room were generally enjoyable and it started out well, this is the room that we've had to receive the most hints in regarding the next step. The puzzles themselves weren't too difficult, but figuring out what was next frequently stumped the two of us. When a puzzle was completed, the new items or information that we received were unclear. This is difficult through obfuscation rather than mentally challenging, and that led to a frustrating experience that I wouldn't recommend.

Sadie was a super GM who really made us feel welcomed back and provided excellent support in terms of nudges and the odd kick in the pants when needed. There’s a lot to do in this room and we found it tricky to keep up with what to do, when to do it and what should happen next but perhaps that’s just us. It was still great fun and the theming is absolutely stunning. I have loved all the games here but this is definitely the most challenging. Maybe another pair of hands would have helped.

We did this room as a two person team of enthusiasts. The puzzles were varied and interesting, using a combination of both analog and fun tech elements. It probably wouldn’t parallel well, so I would recommend a small team for folks who have done a lot of escape rooms. It felt well balanced for the two of us. The set and theming was really where this room shines and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Sadie was a great GM. If we had more time, we would definitely love to do more rooms at Clue Quest.
Well designed, interesting puzzles in a very fun, immersive set. Some hunting for hidden objects slowed us down a bit, but overall the gameplay was great.
Excellent atmosphere with some very clever props.
Sadie was a lovely GM.

Again, the set design/theming was very strong and innovative.

This is a solid escape room. I think the theme is pretty cool with small items portrayed as life size props. The problem is that I didn't love the puzzles. There are a few time waster gameplay moments where you just need to repeat clumsy mechanisms multiple times. We also just didn't find a bunch of stuff as intuitive, and the GM was kind of walking us through most of the room. It wasn't super satisfying because of that.

Novel concept: shrink down and explore a room at tiny size! A neat idea and executed pretty well. A few puzzles that I didn’t love, but overall quite good. I have no clue why it’s called “cow Origenes” instead of something normal like “shrink ray” 4/5

The room itself has interesting theming and a good variety of puzzles. However our visit was anything but a good experience. The GM was clearly attentive but was overly quick to jump in with hints even though we had not asked and was quite intrusive. When we got towards the end of the game we were missing a required piece which prompted the GM to say there had been some "sabotage" and he would help us out. We are guessing a piece was missed when setting up the room, they did not have a spare, and any overrides did not work, as he came back and indicated there were more significant issues, paused our time and then switched us to their other CQOrigenes room. They had set this room to more or less match what we had already completed and we continued where we left off. However, on the final puzzle, this room also failed and we were told "I have permission to (initiate final sequence)" and we were met by the GM who have us a recap of what should have happened and he thanked us for our patience. We requested a partial refund and he asked for a manager to assist. The manager was apparently not authorized to assist with our request and told us to contact customer service and detail the issue to "maybe" get a refund. This was rather annoying as they knew full well both of their rooms failed but still expected us to explain what went wrong. The manager also kept saying that "this room is high tech" as if that was a valid reason for both to fail and completely ruin the experience we paid for.

Hi, Alex here - I'm the Operations Manager at clueQuest. I can only apologise for the issues you encountered here. We always try hard to have every customer enjoy the absolute best experience possible, but it is unfortunately the case that occasionally there are tech issues. I believe in your case the initial issue was related to a motor dying and being unable to open access to a key puzzle element. This was fixed as soon as possible, but would have delayed your game for 30 minutes or so, and so your group was moved to our other copy of that room. The second issue was a result of that game being started part-way through. I reached out by email as soon as I came into work following this incident with our offer of compensation and haven't yet heard back from you. I would welcome the opportunity to make up for the issues you encountered, so please respond to my email (or reach out to our customer service team seperately if the contact information we have for you is not correct) and I will be happy to discuss things further. Our managers are trained to not promice refunds, as all situations must be assessed by myself or one of our owners, as we want to make sure we are personally involved.

clueQuest is London’s premiere escape room operation. You can get drinks. You can get merch like a magnet with your group’s picture. They have at least doubles of most if not all of their rooms. Excellent, challenging room. Puzzles all made sense. Theme was well incorporated. We had no questions about how things worked at the end. Our GM Miquel was very kind and helpful. This room is definitely an expert level room. Don’t try this unless you have dozens of rooms under your belt or you’re OK with getting lots of hints.

We became tiny mice and there were very big props! Wee! Some explanations were "oh you had no way of knowing that" which is a cardinal sin but credit given for clever design and theme. They had to reduce puzzles from this room to make it "easier" but regardless, not for the uninitiated. Escape Couple rating: 4 🗝️: Better than average room (we use a 1-6🗝️ rating scale)
