Escape From Alcatraz

This was by far my favorite prison rooms we have done. We loved the live actor in the beginning. It was fun playing along with someone and creating a great experience. Each room and had a different fun element that definitely pushes you to stay on your game till the end of the game. I do agree with some comments that it felt like the game kept going and going and going. Some improvements can help improve 2 rooms and it wouldn’t feel as though it dragged on. We did love the escape room, and did love the amount of work that had to be done to escape.

Well… this game is ambitious I’ll give it that. This is a massive game that I kinda wish ended after the first 30 minutes because after an interesting proof of concept beginning the game just… keeps going. And from that point on each room feels more monotonous and pointless than the last until it eventually just stops. And this 2nd half of the game just isn’t fun. The setting feels gritty and realistic not in a way that makes it stand out but in a way that makes it feel drab and boring. I’ll give it a thumbs up for pure ambition but I don’t know if I really recommend this.

this room was big! i enjoyed the beginning with the hint system. the rest was ok, i felt like some puzzles didn’t make sense. but i will say we did this room after 6 other rooms in phoenix in just two days, so our brains were probably fried by then.

Agh!! We didn’t escape 😭 this room was SO deceiving and immersive. Highly highly recommend if you want your mind and your heart to race. This is an amazing room!

The theme in this room is on point. The technology is exceptional. We love all of the puzzles and locks in this room.

Great time with 6 of us. We got caught up at the beginning but it kept us all busy and going. Very immersive and fun.

Escape from Alcatraz: The name says it all. The Legend of the 7th Stone: An ancient Egyptian mystery, a missing archaeologist, trapped inside a pyramid: this game had what it takes. But did we? The Great Outdoors: A landslide had trapped us at our camp and we had to find a way to find radio the rescue team. Pros: Wow! Escape from Alcatraz was an awesome escape room experience. First we must note that we did not escape. Still we left happy because of the fantastic experience from start to finish. The set design was top-notch and definitely among the best of the best. The subtle (and not so subtle) sound effects added to the prison ambience. The props further enhanced our game-play experience. The game master kept us on pace, interjecting hints as necessary to move us along. The progression of the game moved flawlessly. Our experience in the Legend of the 7th Stone and the Great Outdoors was equally as rewarding. Cons: The puzzles were difficult. This was not necessarily a bad thing but something to be aware of going into the game. Larger groups of 6 or so will probably do better than smaller groups. Thankfully the puzzles were all very logical and enjoyable to solve despite the difficulty. The game masters hints saved us from ourselves. Congratulations to North Valley Escape Room for earning the Escapeologists Set Design Award.
