Best Christmas room ever and top ten favorite out of 200. This is why I had to do a review and they should keep this open year-round even though it’s Christmas theme. I don’t usually enjoy a live actor but the way that they use the live actor in the situation was so fun and interesting. The storyline was very special And meaningful.

This is such a fun game - and it feels like you got thrust right into a hallmark movie! There are fun and creative puzzles that put you right into the Christmas spirit. Perfect room to do with friends or family and plenty to do to keep everyone occupied. Challenging enough to not feel easy but not too difficult to make it not fun. I love their dedication to story to make everything feel worth doing. Definitely recommend!

I wanted to give this room a heart but there are too many things that pushed me to giving it a thumbs down. 

First, the room is fun. All locks, no tech. Enthusiasts will get through it quick. Puzzles are simple (some simply stupid), set design is basic, but the stand out in this room is the live actor element even though it plays only a small roll in this experience. 

Now onto my complaints. Open Door Escape Games advertises this room has having a maximum of 12 people. Just because your space can fit 12 bodies does not mean your room is capable of entertaining 12. I highly recommend NOT playing with 12 as 7 players in your party will be standing around doing absolutely nothing the entire game. This experience is not equipped to entertain 12. 

When I called asking about the 4 player minimum, I was told the room NEEDS 4 players in order to properly play the game and that the more people you bring the more fun the experience is. This, again, is NOT true.  When you play this game every person is assigned a character to interact with the live actor. There are 4 core characters, every additional person are given characters that do absolutely nothing in the game. None Playable Characters. If you go in with a group of 5, that 5th person is going to have absolutely nothing to do with your experience, and no interaction whatsoever. An NPC. 

This room can easily be done with 2 people. If you want to play with a smaller group than 4, Book the room and just show up. Some one will have to have multiple core characters but it won’t take away from your experience. In fact it will probably make it more fun. 

In Summary:

Fun game. 2 or 3 players should be fine with plenty for everyone to do, maximum of 4. Live actor is great. Gameplay is nothing special.

Best Christmas themed room! I’ve never laughed so much in an escape room. If you want a challenging, stressful trying to beat the clock escape this isn’t the room. If you want to have a good time this is the room. The puzzles are different. Some challenging. If your group is introverts this also might not be your room. But if you are want to have a great time with your game host please do this room before it closes.
