The Mad Scientist

Pretty fun room, less puzzle solving, more finding. The puzzles weren’t difficult, but there were a lot of them, so probably easier for larger groups- as a duo we were moving through puzzles quickly, but the fact we couldn’t do more simultaneously ate into time. GMs were lovely, it’s a shame the clue giving is done without us requesting it, we always try to get things solved ourselves and only ask if we’re desperate so that was unfortunate.

A very fun science themed room with some novel puzzles & lots of locks to open. Make sure you have a flashlight & if you need them, your reading glasses (to read the tiny numbers on the locks).

A very classic escape room with mainly key/locks/combination locks as expected for an older room. Still very enjoyable. It is one of their easier rooms so we whizzed through it with no problems. As there were so many locks, it wasn't clear which puzzles correlated to which locks for some sections which would lead us to try the same combination on several locks. This only maybe happened 2-3 times. The clue system is one where they will show clues on a screen, we much prefer other clue systems than the hands off ones (e.g. radio, voice over etc) but that's just our personal preference. Overall we did enjoy the room with all the old school locks and puzzles!

This room is very solid with plenty of puzzles to solve. There was a good variety in the types of puzzles to solve in this room but I think there could have been a little more thought put into the locks in this room. A lot of the padlocks were for locked boxes but just a small issue.

We really enjoyed this room. There were lots of different puzzles and clues, some were really fun and different, everything flowed really well so we didn't need any hints (apart from when my husband misplaced one of the clues 🤪), gamemasters were also great.

Completed this escape room with two people. My friend was very new to escape rooms and really enjoyed it. Puzzels were mostly easy to solve and well laid out. We had lots of fun!

Billed as the easiest of all their rooms, The Mad Scientist still gave us plenty to work through. The puzzles were probably the most on theme with a bunch of gizmos and gadgets to work with to solve a plethora of puzzles. Again in the need of a small revamp but definitely a great room for a newbie. Most of the clues/keys were hidden in boxes with 2-3 different locks keeping them closed, this was consistent across the rooms and something I’m not personally a fan of. Our Game Master Alex who took us across all the rooms was a jet and answered any and all of our questions which we always appreciate.

The oldest escape room across both Adventure Rooms venues and it definitely shows with the sheer amount of locks and codes to find throughout. The game itself was still great fun as it used a diverse range of props that were both on-theme and interactive. Although the Mad Scientist is marked as the easiest room, there was still plenty of tricky puzzles scattered throughout which kept us busy for longer than expected. Really solid all round, I’d happily recommend any of the games in the Collins St location! Alex our GM was also lovely and enthusiastic. 6.5/10 🔏🧩

Great ideas, however some clues are tricky, there was ways around this such as using different tools
