Very good room. Well done and fun. A lot to do for 2 people. 70 minutes seems more appropriate. If you do it with 2 you will need to be pretty quick on all the puzzles to get out in time.

You are a team of scientists about to complete the revolutionary time machine you have been working on for years. Just as you are about to unveil it to the world, the evil Dr. Gem steals parts to the battery and takes them back in time. Without those parts, you have only one hour of battery life left. You must complete the time machine and open a portal to the past to retrieve the stolen pieces. If you fail to bring them back to your lab before your time runs out, you will be stuck in the past forever!

1st time visiting Maine Escape Games and Dr. Gem’s Time Trap was a great experience. The theme is a typical time traveling story, but sets, technology, and immersion was extraordinary. Only 3 traditional locks and a lot of technology in all rooms. You really needed to be observant in all of the rooms as clues are there for you to complete everything. Some memorable puzzles include a math-related puzzle, a mixture puzzle, and a teamwork related puzzle. A time related puzzle even added some additional stress on you to complete timely. Almost every puzzle you solved had something open automatically and there were some very cool reveals with some, but all reveals were satisfying. Room can be viewed as non-linear, but our group of 3 worked together almost the entire game, and it seemed linear for us on what we wanted to complete next. There is a lot to do so you need to stay focused and have some urgency in the last room especially, as a certain puzzle will take a few minutes to complete. Overall, MEG’s customer service was great. Our GM (Erica) was fun to talk with before and after, and gave us a few nudges at perfect times to ensure we knew what to work on next (exactly what we asked her to do before we started). Overall, a super fun room and a fantastic experience at MEG. MEG is a very good ER company and I look forward to playing another room when we are in the area again.

One of the best rooms we’ve ever done. Very well designed and executed. Some of the props were well loved but everything worked flawlessly. Highly recommend!
Exceptional gameplay. All three of us were constantly engaged. Lots of intuitive yet challenging puzzles.
Fully immersive - fun props to interact with.
Incredibly friendly, energetic and knowledgeable. She also let us know we were ahead of time when we asked for a hint, so we decided against getting it which turned out to be a good decision.
Great storyline. Clear objectives.

wow. this is possibly the best room I've been in. there was so much going on here and the puzzles had a really nice flow. I went with a large-ish group including children (10-16) and it was exciting with something for everyone to do for both novices and very experienced.
the puzzles were sequenced well and made sense intuitively. there was a lot going on that made it fun for my group of escape room novices and also fun for me, a puzzle designer.
I love, love, LOVE the sets and props. it's hard to explain WHY think they're so great without being spoilery. go see for yourself.
the staff was very welcoming, hinted us appropriately, and let us have that ninety seconds or so of slop time at the end so we could finish.

we chose this game because it was so well reviewed and we were not disappointed.
the flow of the plot with the particular sets and props was super cool. it was subtle enough not to hit you over the hear with it, but also everything supported the story.

there were eight of us there, and that felt comfortable. I probably could have done well with 4 experienced adults, but maybe not.

the kids with me ranged from 10-16, and they were able to solve some of the puzzles without much reading or heavy reasoning. some of the puzzles were helped by an adult knowing what kind of puzzle we were looking at, but this was a perfect fit for these kids and now they are FANS.

I think if I had gone with a smaller group, it might have been more physically active just because of the size of the space.
I am mobility challenged and by the time we got to the end of our time, I was pretty fatigued and in considerable pain. the placement of a usable chair somewhere in the set would have been a help to me.

This was my favorite of the three games we played today. It was challenging and kept my team of three moving without any pauses.

Wow really fun room we did over 70 rooms but I feel this is special one specially if you like not traditional locks and more futures stuff, working really well and it’s a lot of fun. We did with 2 people and we escape but recommended more people because there it’s a lot of puzzles. Anyways good room with good quality.
