Cute room with just enough to do for 2 people. Story and room flowed well and everything was logical

This room was more hunting for small items than solving puzzles. The theme was cute but many of the βpuzzlesβ made no sense and we spent a lot of time looking for tiny items instead of solving clues.

If you have kids, I think this would be a great first room to bring them to. It might be a bit difficult for them with the puzzles but I think the atmosphere would be a great intro to escape rooms.
Some non-mechanical puzzles and mobility which made the experience more enjoyable.
Great atmosphere. Definitely felt like they nailed the fairytale vibe they were going for.
Great staff and GM. Not overbearing with the hints. Helped just enough to get us over the finish line.
Yes
The set pieces were pretty cool and unique. They didnβt feel cheap, and the room was immersive.
The experience was immersive and we felt like we were hooked with the story.
Medium
In hindsight the puzzles arenβt that complex. It is very easy to overthink them though.
High tech
This one leans a bit high tech, but thereβs still definitely mechanical puzzles at play to keep it a bit traditional. I think it struck a nice balance personally. Would love to see this room concept with a higher budget.

The room was quite spacious and thereβs plenty of props to interact with. Definitely not suited for large groups.
Not scary
Dim environment, but only for the purpose of adding to the fairy tale aesthetic. No intended scariness with this room.

Adults and kids alike will enjoy this one.

Super fun game! Set design was on point and combined with really fun uses of props, the feel of this room is super fun! This is a non-linear experience and most things felt intuitive. There were some aspects that didnβt link well with one another and multiple moments in which we were wondering what exactly we should be doing. Overall, a fun room that is perfect for a small group!

Cute storybook/fairytale room. I think our team overthought a few of the puzzles but we enjoyed the effects.

I have done red door all over the US. Some are better than others. This location lacks a lot. I have done all but one of their games here and the games themselves lack originality

Poor game mastering moved this down from a decent room to a bad room. Itβs a cute but worn down set, decent tech, a few really cool moments. Unfortunately we wasted 20 minutes (not exaggerating) asking for a hint, getting hints of things we already did / no responses, only to find out we didnβt have a key item due to a previous malfunction. Instead of acknowledging the mistakes, it was a hint of βyou must have missedβ¦β with the thing that never happened. In the end a different person came to congratulate us and kept saying βyou had fun right?β And did apologize once I explained the issue. Even without this part, the game was wayyy too hot, required some outside knowledge, and had at least one thing I would consider a true red herring.

Our experience was completely ruined by an incompetent game master. We needed four items to complete a puzzle early on and could only find 3 of them. We asked for a hint but the hint that was given (they do these annoying preset hints rather than having a real person talk to you) was for how to do the puzzle and not where the last hidden thing we needed was. We kept looking for it and trying to alert the person for a better hint but it took I ekid you not 10 minutes before we got the appropriate hint. Then of course we already knew how to solve it because we had been given the wrong hint already. Then we were behind in the room because of the game masters error that lasted 10 minutes so she just kept giving us hint after hint that we didnβt ask for to try to catch us up. So we didnβt even get a chance to look at the puzzles before we were being given answers. It was so frustrating and ridiculous. Iβve done tons of games but have never had trouble finishing and definitely never had this much issue with a hint system/game master before

This room was a lot of fun. Did this as a command event and had a group of 7 where only 2 of us had previously done an escape room. I really loved the overall atmosphere and design of the rooms with all the puzzles working as designed and being solvable with a bit of thinking. It was a good experience for newbie players while still providing a challenge for experienced players. Definitely my favorite room at Red Door San Diego and one that I would recommend for anyone who is looking to do something with a larger group as there are several puzzles you can split up between.
All the puzzles and gameplay flowed really well. The only puzzle we had issues with was near the end and it was simply due to the sequence being very confusing.
We came here as a group of 35+. The staff was super welcoming and attentive of our group and ensured we were all comfortably waiting in a large staff room while each escape room team went to do their room. Even after we were all done they were courteous and not pushy or rushing despite the late hour. One of the best staff experiences I've ever had, especially for having such a large group. As for the GM, ours was awesome! They were extremely patient and quickly caught onto the fact that we misidentified an item, making it so that we didn't guess it's correct usage at first. They happily gave us helpful hints and nudged us if they saw something wrong.

Hard
There are a lot of puzzles spread out between several rooms and a few were quite tricky.
Mechanical
It did have several puzzles that use lighting and sensors. This room has a fairly healthy mix of puzzles that use sensors, magnets, and lighting.

I can easily see this being done with a group of 4 but it is a fairly large area with several puzzles. I don't think there were many times where we had anyone standing around waiting for a puzzle.

While there were puzzles were simple enough for younger minds, I wouldn't think this room is overall doable for kids as later puzzles can get quite difficult.

This experience had several large rooms and even the room where you use a small passage had a regular sized door that you could use once at least one person got in to unlock it. It definitely utilized colored lights and sounds often so I wouldn't recommend this for anyone with a hearing disability or color blindness.
