Rating: 4/5 - Puzzle and tech dense game with a climactic ending Pros: ➕Basically everything was custom tech. I don't recall a single padlock being in there. ➕Some of the tech were just buttons but there were also tactile and physical interactions. ➕There are a lot of puzzles in the room with great variety and satisfying solves. ➕Many puzzles require cooperation/communication. ➕Many non-linear puzzles so you can divide and conquer. ➕The set looked pretty good, though maybe not as immersive or interesting as some of their other rooms. ➕More than a single room to explore, there was a cool reveal. ➕The ending ramped up in excitement ➕Interesting use of lighting and audio ➕Multiple writing pads provided ➕Lighting was sufficient, they provided a flashlight but we didn't really need it. ➕GM was friendly and helpful when needed Room for improvement: ➖One puzzle involving a digital dial was a bit too unintuitive for us. Once explained it made sense but it was a bit too difficult to make the connection without a hint/nudge. They could've clued it a bit better. ➖A few too many things were provided before they could be used which caused us to overthink things. We played as team of 2 experienced enthusiasts with a few nudges, but finished with only 1-2 min left as it was challenging. I would recommend a team of 4 due to the non-linearity and co-operation involved. There is no crawling or climbing required. My ranking of the 4 rooms I played here starting with my favorite: 1. Welcome to the Machine ❤️ Play this if you like a puzzle dense game requiring cooperation, no padlocks, and an exciting finale. 2. Deep Underground ❤️ Play this for the highly immersive set, effects, and tech. 3. Sins if Faustus❤️ Play this for the narrative and theatrics 4. Barnyard Winds 👍This room has lower immersion but is better for beginners and families

It was an absolute pleasure to find myself back at Captivating Worlds, we only have one more room to do of the four, but I hear we may be getting a 5th room this year! Stay tuned!!

I feel like there’s not much to be said that hasn’t been already. This Deep Underground and Faustus all are amazing. This room was super fun. Very fun room reveal as well.

this is a great room, up there as one of the best rooms at captivating worlds and in the columbus area. all puzzles were logically sound and made sense. it was doable with 2 people, but more people would make this room easier, as there were many things that can be done all at once. communication is key within your group, and observation (don’t forget things that you noticed early in the game!) this is by far the most difficult room at this location, i would not recommend attempting this room until you have successfully escaped their other 3 rooms. escaping is very rewarding, there are some puzzles that we have never seen before and there was a big surprise 75% through the game that we have never played before. a must play game if you are at an adequate skill level
very novel. all puzzles flowed and fit with the theme

This room is incredibly fun and has some big surprises. We did it as a family of 5 (teens and adults) and were certainly blown away at one moment (you'll know what I mean if you've done the room). It had a lot of puzzles that could be worked on at the same time, so it works well with a group.
Staff are great and friendly. They do a great job of only giving hints when you ask and only just enough to nudge you as much as needed - they're clearly paying attention and have experience at running games.

I liked the room, but probably not as much as Dr Faustus or the Underground. Like other experiences at Captivating Worlds, this room had a wide variety of puzzles that required different skills.

Oh my goodness. How am I supposed to do any other room ever again!? This blew everywhere else out of the water!! The details in the puzzles, the special effects. Perfect! Please branch off and make another location back in GR, MI.

After getting rained out hiking, we decided to head into town for some indoor fun. I have done several escape rooms and this one, by far, was the best! The room was well thought out and space out. We had four people on our group and we all kept busy solving puzzles. Thank you for all the time and effort put into these rooms, can't wait to return for more!

Some games were color based which made it a tad difficult for the one color blind in the group but it did not hinder our success.
