“Our team of five had a lot of fun with this room that was clearly designed with thought and crafted with care. It hit all the right dramatic beats for a “heist” and contained very nice wow moments that could be shared by most or all of the players. Enough to do for five, with intuitive flow for what to do. Our team struggled with two puzzles, one a bit process-y and a cekestial one where the GM (not one of the owners) seemed to not be responsive for a few minutes despite us asking for a nudge multiple times. These lower notes did not mar the experience and the fun final act - I would definitely take another group here!”

“This room is a puzzle gauntlet! We played as a team of 2, and we BARELY made it. You are constantly asked to think, move, and make connections. This is the most realistic sub game I’ve played, and it offers a crazy event halfway through the game that makes for a very memorable moment. Your brain will be very tired at the end of this!”

“Amazing room! Unique theme, stellar puzzle design, and great immersion. The room was very hands-on, there were multisensory experiences, and the puzzles really made you feel like you were in a mechanic shop. Some amazing tech I've never seen before as well. My only complaint is that we were told we'd be watched by two GMs the whole time, but the one time I asked for a hint I didn't receive one until the 4th time I asked. There were also times where I asked questions unrelated to the puzzles (e.g. "how are we doing on time?") and was given a hint for the puzzle instead. Luckily those hints were things I'd already figured out or I would have been disappointed by the unwanted spoilers. It certainly didn't feel like we were indeed being watched the whole time. That being said, the staff were very kind and clearly very passionate about creating good games for enthusiasts, and they gave us an exciting teaser about the next game they have in the works! Excited to return soon!”

“Great room, great theme! Lots of great technology involved though still a good number of combination locks and directional locks. 3-4 people is a good amount for this room. There were some fun surprises and interesting puzzle elements at play.”

“Most people think this is Boxaroo's worst room...but it was actually my favorite. The theme is the most boring and cliche of all their rooms, absolutely. But every single puzzle made sense (with the potential exception of one which we got quickly, but there wasn't really an indication that what we did SHOULD be done except just...trying things out). The rest of the puzzles made up for that issue. If you're in the area, this should be on your list!”

“This room is very highly praised, so I had VERY high expectations going into it. And it is a great room! But I actually enjoyed one of their other rooms more, and I wouldn't call this room in my top 10 all-time. That being said, it is absolutely worth a stop if you're in the area. The room is incredibly unique in regards to its play style, and it was a lovely experience with an amazing hint system. We got a behind-the-scenes tour as enthusiasts which was really special, too.”

“This has honestly become one of my favorite games. I know others may not agree, but the flow is beautiful, the puzzles are inventive and fun, and this game is HILARIOUS. It’s probably the funniest game I’ve played, and never really takes itself too seriously. The scenery is a bit bland, but that’s not the focus of the game. Your guide is funny and likeable, and there’s a lot of diversity in puzzle types. The soundtrack is perfect, too. And I’ve mentioned this, but this is definitely a comedy game. And it’s really, REALLY funny. I love this game.”

“This game was a weiner! The sets were all immaculate, immersive, and quirky. In the first room alone, you had a hot dog cart, a pay phone, a sewer pipe, an ATM, a buildable brick wall, and a dumpster! This game asks you to make a tremendous amount of connections, practice constant communication, collaborate, and CRAWL! Some elements didn't have an obvious link to their puzzles, but the biggest challenge is the sheer volume of puzzles. I wish the quirky theme carried throughout more of the room, but this is still a very atypical heist. Highly recommend!”

“This room has some of the best elements of a fun, collaborative, exciting room great for a group that wants to be split up and put to the test. It has good ambience, some fantastic on-theme touches, and plenty of puzzles to keep you going for a full hour (and probably then some!) One of the best rooms I've done.”

“Surprisingly good game. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was. Puzzles were high tech, but flowed well and made sense. The submarine set was unusual, but worked, as did the rest of the set. Really good aha moments in this one, and everyone gets to be a part of the experience. Probably one of my favorites at The Escape Game. Room gets really hot though (lack of AC, I think), so be warned.”

“Timeliner is a classic escape room done really well, even if it is a bit too easy. The room captured my imagination with its use of effects and transitions, as well as many physical interactions that were a joy to manipulate. The Escape Game truly has no bad games and this is a fine addition to their line-up.”

Boston is a city as rich in its history as it is in its modern entertainment attractions. Every year, millions of people descend on the city, eager to experience its historical landmarks, vibrant culture and arts scene, excellent sports teams, and its many restaurants and bars. In addition, the city is home to a number of popular tourist attractions, including the Freedom Trail, Fenway Park, and the New England Aquarium. Overall, Boston is a lively and exciting city that offers a wide range of things to see and do, making it a great place to visit for people of all ages.
In recent years, Boston has come alive as a true escape room destination. In fact, Boston is home to nearly 50 different escape room venues and Boston offers a particularly exciting array of escape room experiences that are suitable for all tastes. Storyteller's Secret at Boxaroo is an award winning room that is sure to delight. Red Fox Escape's The Body Shop is another hit that is known for its beautiful set and immersive story. With over 100 escape games in the entire area, the possibilities are nearly endless — you’ll find games with themes of horror, adventure, crime, espionage, and plenty you may not expect.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
