My 100th escape room! Nemesis club was such a blast and especially Mogollon Monster. It certainly felt like being transported to a little camp site on the prowl for bigfoot. Puzzles were fun and interesting and there was always something for people to do.

WHERE IS MY SUPER SUIT? We found it 😂 frozone would be proud. This room was so so so much fun!! I was smiling the whole time!! The whole experience and room was so thoughtful. I loved this room so much. Such a great use of space. Sooo high tech. From beginning to end this room blew us away even from the lobby. Lots of cute Easter eggs. Spend the time reading everything cause it’s a joy to see the attention to detail put into this room. The flow was fantastic and perfect for 4 enthusiasts. So worth the trip out. I love whimsical so this was my favorite of the 3 rooms here. A must play!

Eludesions Escape Rooms

  • Escape room
  • IRL

This one is probably competing with Mad Hatter's Tea Party for the best at Eludesions, a lot of positives but also a couple of rough patches that I hope have been smoothed out in the couple years since I played it. Probably close to the top of the "scary" rooms I've done which in all fairness isn't a ton but speaks to the level at which this one can get to if it could've gone without the technical difficulties we had in the room. The last puzzle was kinda confusing and I never really understood it and there was one puzzle that didn't trigger at the right time which was unfortunate because it was a pretty cool puzzle if I remember right. Like I said the potential in this room is pretty high and I hope they've smoothed out the rough around the edges since, but it's definitely worth giving a shot because the story progressed pretty well, and we had a good time. One last thing is it's definitely the first room that Eludesions tried to do as high tech as it is which I think contributes to the technical difficulties that we had, an older gen 3 if I'm not mistaken.

The Greatest Escape

This room had a very smooth and easy flow from one puzzle to the next, which is a sign of really good game design, IMHO. They also utilized their small space well and I appreciated that a few of the puzzles were good challenges and not super straightforward. All the tech was well-made and worked too. This is one of my favorite escape companies in Arizona. I love talking with both of the GMs/owners and nerding out about escape rooms with them after we’re done playing. I would play any room that they make, so I am really looking forward to playing their 3rd room when it opens soon!

This is the second room we’ve done here, and we were so pleased. This room, like the previous one was so well themed, and every puzzle made sense and flowed from one to the next. We love this location and will be back to try the rest of their rooms.

The Ultimate Candy Factory Challenge

From the vibrant set to the wacky intro/outro videos to the variety of whimsical, tactile puzzles, this was a delight. However, don't be fooled by the light-hearted theme: This room is a challenge and will kick your butt! It offers a lot of content, but it gives a clear progress station that shows how close you are. While the searching can be tedious, it's all very fair and clever. Bring a fast-moving team and be prepared for a joyous and highly-interactive experience!

Kay was such an amazing GM and person to talk about escape rooms. There was so much love and heart poured into the design and puzzles of the room. The set design transports you to a cyberpunk room and follows such a good story line with a cute friend Crumbz to help along the way. Pretty easy room with lots of puzzles for 4 enthusiasts. A definite must play in the Phoenix area.

How Do Escape Rooms Work?

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
