Undercover the truth of Operation Gryaznayavoda once and for all!

It’s great! Definitely one of those where you want 4-6 people, split up and then solve. There’s a bunch going on all once so ask yourself if that’s your vibe. If it is, you’ll have a great time, but if you prefer linear, you’re going to be sorting through A LOT of clues to find the one that’s relevant to you.

Golden Lock Award - Golden Lock Winners (2026)

In Search Of An Exit is excited to host the return of Double Dog Dare Ya after a 30+ year hiatus! Larry Lombino is back and better* than ever!**

(*“better” is subjective.)

(**certainly better than in 1990 when he was cryogenically frozen due to his crippling anxiety disorder, at least.)

One of the contestants pictured described this experience as “the single most fun thing [she] has ever done in [her] adult life.” This was an hour and some change of pure shenanigans, hijinks, and laughter. Gamemaster Patrick was beyond accommodating for our group and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire event.

#2 - Best Escape Rooms in Portland (2018)

Explore Vinny Lombino’s poker room, untouched since 1988.

It’s the best type of classic room there is. A few master locks, no major bells and whistles, but just an excellent room nonetheless. If you’re into 80s tech, this is straight up made for you. I’m a 90s kid so I don’t share the same nostalgia but I still had a kick. I prefer this one over the Russian themed room although they’re both good. Smaller groups recommended.

Legend states over 5000 years ago there were artifacts of great power used by the ancient rulers to bend the very fabric of reality. To prevent the wrong people from gaining this powerful ability, these rarities were scattered across the globe and hidden away from mankind. You have been called upon to help locate the final resting place of one of these great objects, the mask of Zanahkt! You will join renowned explorer William Elshoff’s crew of archaeologists and explorers in search of The Pharaoh’s Lost Relic!

Amazing room! From start to finish, you are immersed in the theme. Our game master Horatio was awesome and his characters were on point. This room had so many cool mechanisms and a top notch atmosphere.

Play the Shaky Grounds Cafe, the only Escape Room that just might save your life.

This one is special. Absolutely loved this room! Super creative puzzle play and a real-world concept that isnt cheesy. We had a blast! I highly recommend. If you've done a good amount of escape rooms, i would give a small piece of advice, -dont be afraid to try something! I dont want to give spoilers, so just be aware that there are puzzles that are not what you find in the average escape room. (Extremely cool lol) definitely think outside the typical escape room box 😉 its an impressive room!
Don't skip out on this room just because its not in a brick & mortar. We were more impressed by this room than most of what we played in CA.

Big thanks to Tyler for being a great host. He is a cool guy and really kind! I'd be more than happy to do any room this dude is involved with. Creativity was outstanding and raises above majority of escapes out there.

You’ve escaped a serial killer’s basement kill room only to find yourself trapped inside his house! The Vantucky Ripper has given you 60 minutes to find your way through his twisted game of madness! Are you ready for Ronnie to take you to the next level?

This was one of the best rooms I have ever done. Also the scariest. Very immersive and fun while maintaining a level of adrenaline inducing scares. Our game master, Alec, both played the role of Ronnie and kept us engaged the whole time.

NW Escape Experience

Ronnie’s House

Our first foray into the horror genre. We poured our (and some of our victims') hearts into it.

Unexpectedly well executed. Non-linear. We were pleased with the experience. The puzzles flowed well. The flow was slightly hindered in the final room because the game became more linear. Some puzzles felt original. I liked the contrast between the first and the last rooms. The story makes sense. There is one optional mini-puzzle just for the story, and it was scary. Everything about this escape room was right: no skill-based puzzles, no memorization puzzles, no weird agility-based physical exercises, we had a good mix of perception, physical, and logical puzzles. Take your time, be calm, be perceptive, reset your mind if you are overwhelmed, and you'll be fine.

The Final Cut

Centuries ago, Mulberry Manor was built as a gift from Edward Mulberry to his wife and children. But in October of 1871, Edward and his children were killed in a cold-blooded massacre; their bodies torn to pieces and scattered throughout the manor. Any who dare to enter since suffered the same short lived fate. You are the only living descendant to the Mulberry family, recently granted the estate. You have read the stories; you have heard the rumors; yet you enter with the wish to amass your fortune. Standing in the very place each victim drew their final breaths, an ominous presence overwhelms you. Desperately you search for a way out but your fate has been sealed; you are trapped; and the horror stories have turned into a nightmarish reality. Will you escape or become the next victim in this spine chilling horror story?

The beginning was the most challenging part of the room, featuring one unorthodox and extremely difficult puzzle as well as one confusing auditory puzzle. After that, we really enjoyed two unusual and creative puzzles.
The room is intentionally dimly lit, and flashlights are not provided as part of the design. The atmosphere felt somewhere between spooky and scary, with jump scares, flashing lights, sudden noises, and other unsettling effects.
This is a new room in the escapology arsenal as of Summer 2026. Highly recommended for experienced players.

Take part in this brand new genre defying adventure with your best team of treasure hunters as you attempt to loot as much as you can before oxygen runs out.

Awesome room! Tried to complete with just my parter and myself but got less than half way through. Because we are from out of town and we loved the room so much we had to finish and tried again that night. We were given a big discount for the 2nd try, greatly appreciated!! Our 2nd attempt we brought one more person for an extra set of hands and were able to completely finish! The room is very non-linear so definitely think it would keep a big group busy! Can’t wait to come back and try the other rooms.

Portal Adventures

The Sunken Ruins

T’was some time before Christmas when all through the Shop, an alarm had been blaring and screaming nonstop! The toys were not made, the machines had not moved, with candy canes found everywhere leaving all behooved. You’ve sprung to the site to help where you can, can you solve all the puzzles and establish a plan?

Candy Cane Conundrum is an escape room that will just have you smiling from start to finish. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, you are guaranteed to get into the Christmas spirit by the end of this experience.

As for the puzzles, most are straightforward but it does help to have another set of eyes or ears. We did this room with 2 people but I think 3-4 could be a good number as well if you’re going for record-breaking time. Some puzzles are mechanical and some may require physical agility aka crawling or climbing up the stairs. There are accommodations if you find the physical aspect to be a little too much.

We didn’t get a chance to do the other rooms in this location but we would have done more if time allowed! Our game master brought all the energy and we appreciate her! Parking is not the easiest during the busy times but if you go one street over, you might be able to snag a spot.

Candy Cane Conundrum

A massive treasure awaits, buried deep in a cave of wonders and mysteries! If you can awaken the sleeping powers within the lamp, who knows what kind of magic you will discover?

Pros: non-linear puzzles; great setting; the hardest puzzle was fun; the tactile puzzle was satisfying; variety of puzzles such as visual, perception-based, tactile/sensory, logic, physical, audio puzzles.
Cons: the first room is too dim; the audio puzzle was hard to follow: we asked for a written transcript; one puzzle had cursive letters using a weird hard-to-distinguish font.

Genie's Lamp

An eccentric Sasquatch hunter, on the verge of a crytpo-zoological breakthrough, has gone missing.

Really excellent use of space. They packed a ton of puzzles into this nonlinear room. Our time went by so quickly! When we escaped, we were shocked that 50 minutes had already passed. I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun.
