“What an immersive escape room! What this room does well is its gameplay, storytelling, hint system, non-linear puzzles, and use of storybook characters. We had such a great time in this escape room! We played with a team of 2, and it was difficult for how many puzzles there were to complete. A lot of the puzzles required teamwork and collaboration, so I would recommend a team of 4 or more. Overall, this was one of Washington state’s best escape rooms thus far! It’s beautifully crafted with storytelling and immersion, and I’m looking forward to playing their other rooms.”

“Great room with awesome theming and clever puzzles. Nonlinear, with lots to do. We did it as a twosome and barely escaped in time. GM/Live actor was great and hints were perfect to keep gameplay interesting and paced well. Check this one out!”

“This room is an absolute treat for any HP Lovecraft fan, or anyone who appreciates storytelling done right. From the moment the curtain closes (literally), the immersive narration pulled us deep into an eerie world of cosmic horror. The set design was eerie and the puzzles flowed beautifully. They were intuitive and thematic - although I did not get to see all of the puzzles so just keep that in mind. We had a good number of people in our group and it did feel like everyone had enough to do. There was enough collaboration at the end and the solutions did slowly reveal a new layer to the narrative, which made the progression feel rewarding to me. Highly recommend this one for the equal parts mystery, atmosphere, and storytelling experience!”

“I believe my team escaped but I can’t remember. When the room couldn’t offer in-person, we had a remote option. I am not as big into horror but this was done so well it didn’t matter. Remote is no longer offered because having a camera on one’s head is too painful and it wouldn’t be feasible for them to keep running it remotely unfortunately.”

“Unique theme that I haven’t yet come across. Impressive and detailed props. Amazing representation of an original-style lock and key escape room with a small sprinkle of tech. Love the creepy components, but won’t say too much as to not spoil for others. Our game host was super friendly and interactive. Our game master was too quick to give assistance without request from us. Overall 9/10 and would come back again to play more of their games.”

“Fox in a Box really delivered on this room, I love their commitment to immersion. You do not need to know any history about the Zodiac Killer to complete this room, but it's nice to have some back story to appreciate their attention to detail in creating this room. My team had a lot of fun working through the puzzles. Keep in mind that at least one person in your group should be comfortable with small spaces before playing this game.”

“The puzzles went great with the game. And there is actual motion in one of the rooms. Which is a great element of surprise. Our game master was great and very helpful. This is an easy one as the level of difficulty explains on the Morty App. Would recommend to anyone but highly recommend to other wanting to experience their first escape room.”

“Fun room! Took us 2 tries, but we did it! We generally need more time since it’s just two of us, so not unexpected. Several hands on/tactile puzzles which was fun. Definitely a higher challenging room simply for the amount of puzzles to solve in 60 mins - make sure to bring someone(s) that you communicate and play well with! Highly recommend!”

“Very nice room with a unique experience. After doing it with 4 people I consider this one in the medium difficulty since everything was able to flow well without the need of hints. Really recommend this room and the others from this location.”

Seattle is a unique and friendly city with a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and activities. Some of the things that make Seattle fun include its beautiful natural setting, with the nearby mountains and water, its thriving arts and culture scene, its vibrant food and drink culture, and its many outdoor recreational opportunities. There are also many popular attractions in Seattle, such as the Space Needle, the Pike Place Market, and the Seattle Center. All of these things combine to make Seattle a fun and exciting place to visit or live.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
