MagnificoEscaparium - LavalEscape roomIRLThis game shot straight to my number 1 spot, and I think it will take a while for anything to overtake it! It’s a true mix of immersive theatre and escape room. Within minutes I’d forgotten we were playing a game and felt fully immersed. The story was captivating and emotional, and the puzzles perfectly fit with the narrative. Escaparium are really doing something special with this room.
VikingExtremescapeEscape roomIRLI talk about this room all of the time! We had so much fun, had plenty to do and there were so many great moments. The theming is really cool and Extremescape have absolutely made the most of the space. I want to bring other friends back and just watch them work through the room!
La Cerveseria [The Brewery]EnigmikEscape roomIRLA great room full of puzzles and tech. There is a lot to do and some fun moments. I really enjoyed it but compared to some of the rooms available in Barcelona now it’s a bit of a more traditional escape room and didn’t wow me as much as others, hence the thumbs up rather than a heart! But it’s a definite must do in Barcelona.
Distrito 111 [District 111]Unreal Room Escape Sant Martí – BarcelonaEscape roomIRLA really immersive room with great props and puzzles that were very tactile and felt like things you would actually need to do. This is more of a traditional escape room than some of the more immersive experiences available in the area but it’s still a must do. The space isn’t huge but they use it really well. Some puzzle types I hadn’t seen before which was cool!
OrbitalBreak Escape Nottingham - Market StreetEscape roomIRLThis is a well themed spaceship room. There is plenty to do and I loved working through each ‘task’. The theme and atmosphere were impressive and there were a couple of cool puzzles I’d not come across before!
The Morrison Game FactoryPostCuriousEscape roomTabletopThis game was really lovely. It had a beautiful story that really tugged at the heart strings! The puzzles were a medium difficulty with fun physical elements. There was quite a lot of reading to do on our iPad but it added to the story and was done in a novel way that we enjoyed. We played as a 2 and it took around 3 hours.
Daylight RobberyBreak Escape Nottingham - Upper Parliament Street [prev. Cryptology]Escape roomIRLI loved this game so much! It’s my favourite item collection/scavenger hunt type room that I’ve done. There is SO much to do and the puzzles to get the items are really varied. The final moment is full of pressure and tension! I’d love to play this again
Runaway TrainXscapeNowEscape roomIRLThis room was fun, with great theming and a range of puzzles. The puzzles were relatively easy but were in-keeping with the theme. The final puzzle felt a bit anticlimactic for the escape moment. But still a fun experience and Xscape Now are clearly a company that puts a lot of thought into their theming and experience. Our game host was so lovely!
The Light In The MistPostCuriousEscape roomTabletopThis game was so unique and we loved the tarot element. The art on the cards was beautiful and the story throughout the experience was very moving. We loved being able to learn and play with the tarot cards afterwards, extending our experience! We played as a 3 and there was plenty for us all to be involved and enjoying it
Jurásico [Jurassic]Golden PopEscape roomIRLThe atmosphere and theming of Jurasico is amazing! We had such a fun time from start to finish, it really felt like we were in a film! The puzzles varied in difficulty. Sometimes we were a bit confused about what happened after a solve but it didn’t really take away from the experience. Fans of Jurassic Park will love the nods to the original film!
