Storyteller's Secret
Boxaroo
Escape room
IRL
This room proves, more than anything I’ve seen so far, that size really doesn’t matter. Absolutely incredible experience packed into a relatively small environment. Really inventive puzzles, an actually solid storyline, and some of the most fun interactions I’ve seen yet. This game is beautiful.
Ghost Patrol
Trivium Games
Escape room
IRL
Probably the best escape room I’ve played. Absolutely gorgeous set, clever references, and each and every puzzle was thematic and enjoyable. The interactions were so clever and fun, and the nonlinear format worked well, allowing multiple puzzles to be solved at once without feeling like you missed everything. The beginning and ending especially stood out. There was so much going on, I only remember about half of the game. I desperately want to play this game again.
Ruins of the Mystic Temple
Rabbit Hole Recreation Services
Escape room
IRL
This is Rabbit Hole’s first game, and it did not disappoint. The theming was amazing, the interactions were clever, and it’s truly good for any size group and any ages. It also has a spectacular ending, which is the most memorable part of the game. Rabbit Hole’s other games are stronger, Frost Base Z being amazing, but the truth is, if you play one, play them all.
The Edison Escape Room
Palace Games
Escape room
IRL
Absolutely wild game. Nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. The story’s pretty light on this one, but that’s really not the point. The technology in this game is next level, with some super unorthodox, fun puzzles. One section gets a bit repetitive, but the rest of the game is such high quality that it really doesn’t matter. If you’re looking for an immersive experience, this might not be your favorite game, but if you come to the Edison Room for the puzzles and interactions, you’ll experience one of the greatest games in the country. Worth traveling for this game.
Ruins: Forbidden Treasure
The Escape Game - Berry Hill
Escape room
IRL
Holy moly. There’s not much to say about this one, but everything from the puzzles to special effects is just amazing. Definitely recommend doing this one in person; wouldn’t be nearly as fun online. Seriously, though, this is something else. The less you know going into it, the more you’ll get out of it.
The Body Shop
Red Fox Escapes
Escape room
IRL
Easily Red Fox’s best game, by far. Incredibly funny and unique storyline, amazing theming, and some of the most fun interactions I’ve ever had in an escape room. The story never drops from start to finish, leaving you totally immersed, and the balance between humor and horror is absolutely perfect. There is some gore in this room, as listed on their website, but it’s nothing too bad, and there’s no jump scares at all. Also the soundtrack is an instrumental of the girl scout song from the Beetlejuice musical so that earns brownie points from me.

Inferior version of Boda Borg. That is to say, it’s still amazing. Pirate’s Plank, Ninja Dojo, and 8-Bit Lava are standouts. It loses a lot of the charm that Boda Borg maintains, but definitely still a fun place to check out with some clever challenges that are routinely updated.
Frost Base Z
Rabbit Hole Recreation Services
Escape room
IRL
Best game I’ve played in Denver so far. Immersive intro set the mood, and the puzzles in the first act were tactile and clever. Second act featured more complicated puzzles, but clued enough to make them interesting and fun. What really sets this game apart is the immersive special effects. I’ve seen plenty of rooms with a virus theme, but this one featured the ending effect that we all dreamed of. The game ends in an immersive format, not opening the doors as soon as the mission is achieved. The immersion and effects are top notch, and this is one of the greatest rooms I’ve played. Don’t miss this one.
Boda Borg Boston Quests
Boda Borg - Boston
Escape room
Other
This is pretty much an escape room crossed with an obstacle course, and it’s the best thing to exist. It’s the most replayable experience in the escape room world, and like nothing you’ve ever seen. There are more mysteries hidden inside this complex than anything else in the world. For the best experience, your team should be physical enough to climb, crawl, and jump. It’s an amazing experience that you need to book now, and there’s only one reason I’m keeping this review short. In Boda Borg, the less you know going into it, the better.
Conundrum Museum
Boxaroo
Escape room
IRL
Very fun, even if it’s Boxaroo’s worst game. Clever puzzles with aha solutions. One major set piece is intriguing from the start, and delivers in the end. Very nice opening. Overall it’s a well done game with some clever puzzles and tricks up its sleeve, even if it’s not the most immersive. Storyteller’s Secret is the standout game here, but if you’ve got time and enough friends, this one’s pretty fun too.
