For those with mobility issues (like Julie!) there is a short crawl but otherwise good to go. The escape rooms in this state are top notch and Memphis Escape Games easily belongs with the greats. We also love what they are doing to create other gaming experiences. If you are going to do multiple rooms, call them. They are big on rewarding repeat players with discounts. We are enamored with any room that fully immerses you and gives you that sense of whimsy that can only be experienced live. They go all in on recreating The Jurassicโฆ movie. The set was beautiful and there were extra touches (like name tags!) that werenโt necessary but added to the fun and immersion. Highly recommend! What a joy. ๐คฉ The staff was also fantastic. Owner reached out to us when he saw we had booked five rooms. Everything here is original and built with love, and it shows in the excellent work. At once point we had the right code for the first step of a multi-puzzle but just werenโt lining it up right on the lock. Instead of telling us โkeep tryingโ the GM gave us the final code for the entire puzzle, then immediately posted the *entire answer* to the next multi-step puzzle. When we told the manager he just said โoh thatโs not good.โ With a decent GM, this is a standard escape room and would have received a three from us, but after three games of convoluted puzzles and bad GMs, we just canโt recommended that you spend your money here. One puzzle was so convoluted it was unforgivable. Many opportunities to make it clear and logical, none of them taken. If they fixed this, it would be an acceptable room, but we just have to subtract on lazy puzzle design. Also, our GM gave us a nudge on something we already solved, making us think we missed something, so that wasted some time. The biggest tip we can give is that you should wait until they open their new location if possible. Things have gotten a bit shabby and when we found out they were moving we understood why they werenโt fixing them. There is solid puzzle design in all of their rooms. This one isnโt our favorites but you have to love the voodoo theme. In the overall intro video they say that codes and keys wonโt be used again in their rooms. This room is an exception. There was a fun technical element tied to the submarine and we always enjoy creatures. Game master Mia was great. Breakout calls this one of their most immersive rooms which speaks to a low bar of immersion. Again, not trying to throw shade, you know when you do a Breakout game youโll have a good time but wonโt get your mind blown.
