The Paper Company - CLOSEDDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLIf you fan of The Office, this room is a must do hands down! All the easter eggs got us super excited. We absolutely loved the entire experience. It was a one room small space, but the multitude of puzzles packed into this 45 min experience is fantastic! I don’t think we stopped smiling. The puzzles were very well themed and you could tell there was a great amount of detail put into them. Not an overall difficult room, but the experience itself is stellar. Highly recommend.
A Fisherman’s Tale - CLOSEDThe Escape Ventures - Winter Garden [prev. Escape Goat]Escape roomIRLWhat a great little room! This room makes great use of the space, it’s fairly small compared to other rooms but packs a punch within! The puzzles were very well done with a great mixture of tech and locks. And we thought the atmosphere was really well done. The puzzles fit the theming well and we’re enjoyable ti conquer. Not too difficult of a room. We got stuck on the first puzzle and thought we were doomed, but after our one small hint we sailed through the rest. The ending definitely made us smile, and was very satisfying.
UFO: Go For LaunchThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomIRLI’m not a huge fan of alien themed rooms in general. They usually feel overused. However, this room has quickly become one of my favorites. The level of immersion, and the quality of puzzles was fantastic! Technology and various rooms and hands-on puzzles was very unique. The props were absolutely amazing and it had a good mix of puzzles to be able to solve for multiple people to be working on. This room and the puppet room at The Bureau are my top two favorites here.
The DIEnerIntense Escape - Tampa LocationEscape roomIRLWhat a cool room! We have never done a room like this where you can pick how scary you want your experience, we opted to add the live actors and it definitely added such a fun layer to the whole experience. It was more funny then scary for us per say so I highly recommend it! As for the room, it wasn’t too difficult, all the puzzles made logical sense and they did a great job incorporating the theme into the puzzles. We can’t wait to go back to this location and try some other rooms!
At Odds With The GodsThe Escape EffectEscape roomIRLI wanted to love this room so much, because I love the theme of Greek gods in Greek mythology. It started off fine as we got the first few puzzles, but it seemed to go off the rails pretty quickly after that. This room is not entirely linear which in itself is not a problem. Also, one of the locks was not functioning properly, and the room was not set up properly we found out, which is why that lock did not function It’s very lock heavy, which normally doesn’t bother me, but when you have the same type of lock in multiple places, and one code that you have to try in multiple places, it gets frustrating, especially when the puzzles don’t give you an idea of which lock or even room. This room will have you running all over the place throughout the rooms. I also am not a fan of when the puzzles are extra hard just to be hard. For instance, you solve the puzzle but then you need to solve something else in order to solve the actual puzzle again. It was unnecessarily difficult, with the intent to trip you up and not necessarily logical. So it just felt disheartening when you thought you figured it out. I didn’t like that we had multiple game masters, and when we asked for a hint, we didn’t know who we were getting, and they usually would ask us what we wanted, so you could tell they were not watching what we were doing, and we had to explain where we are, or what we wanted help with. Just seemed impersonal. One of my biggest disappointments was the chalkboard slate thing in this room, or whatever you wanted to call it, it was absolutely disappointing and unusable, which is what they expected you to write with while you solve puzzles. And you absolutely need to in this room to have something to write and take notes with.
Possession At Haddon HeightsThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomIRLGood room, shorter than I expected, and a lot less puzzles than I expected, especially for this location where their games are very engaging. This isn’t a completely dark room, but it’s a good introduction into kind of a dark atmosphere, as well as a little spooky, nothing scary, so don’t be scared to try it out, even my friend who is very scared of the dark did just fine! The ending wasn’t that satisfying to me. And the puzzles, though they were good, felt stunted. I felt like there could’ve been more to the game, but it ended quickly. Overall, not my favorite room at this location, but if you’re looking to just dab your toe in something a little spooky, give it a try!
The Pet ShopRiddler's Escape - OxfordEscape roomIRLI really enjoyed this room. The concept was so unique. There was a lot of unique elements in this room. Great for two people since the space isn’t too large. I loved the giant cat tree, very well designed! I’m a huge animal lover so this experience was pretty cool with all the animal like puzzles and components. Not too challenging, but not super easy.
The Video StoreDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLI can’t say enough amazing things about this room. This has jumped up near the top of my list of favorites. The theming was fantastic, absolutely wonderful, especially loved the nice dose of nostalgia. The puzzles were so wonderfully themed as well and they incorporated some unique uses of tech we really enjoyed! There were a lot of puzzles to this room! They varied from fairly simple to some thought provoking more complex ones. We had such a blast working through this room! We escaped with about 5 mins left and just two of us. There is definitely enough puzzles for multiple people to work on at once without tripping over each other. However I wouldn’t suggest more than 4 people as I think it would get a little tight. Highly recommend!
Spoopy's Ghoulish Graveyard GameshowDoldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLA very cool and unique experience! Very linear game and the puzzles aren’t too challenging, but there are a few that are pretty unique. Loved all the tech in the room. Spoopy’s intro video is hilarious. Great theming all around and really made great use of the space. Highly recommend for an escape room with a little bit of a different feel and flare to it. I probably wouldn’t recommend anymore than 4 people since it seems like it would get crowded easily.
Smoke & Mirrors: Houdini's Final EscapeThink Escape Games - Orlando [prev. Escape Hatch Orlando]Escape roomIRLWe played this on expert mode, which includes a few additional harder puzzles. This was an absolutely fantastic room. You definitely feel immersed in the magic. This room kept surprising, and I loved all of the nods to Magic, and how the puzzles incorporated the theme of the room. There were only two of us, we did escape, however, we did go two minutes over the time. We only had to ask for a few clues. However, the added puzzles to make this room harder did take a lot of additional time, so if you are not an experienced escaper, I would recommend not adding the extra level of complexity. If you are an experienced escaper, definitely add the extra puzzles. The tech in this room was super cool. This company continues to amaze as we work through their rooms, nothing has disappointed yet.
Jail Break - CLOSEDEscape Cocoa BeachEscape roomIRLThis room was very disappointing. I always have an open mind, even though we saw poor reviews before we went. The room is not immersive at all, the entire top is open and you hear the radio music very clearly for the staff. Almost everything had stickers proclaiming not to take apart etc-which is understandable but this was excessive. There was no flow to the puzzles and several puzzles seemed like they were irrelevant to the story. There was really no real story to it. The clue system was terrible. You had to knock on the wall in a certain spot to get their attention, after multiple attempts with no response we had to walk out of the room (more than once) to find no one was there manning the desk. The clues were generic on laminated note cards and were given to us as clues even though we solved the puzzles already. Then they just yelled through the door to give another clue. It was a poorly designed system. Absolutely no tech or effort put into this room. The staff seemed like they didn’t know much about escape rooms and haven’t even participated in any rooms before.
DreamEscape Artists - OrlandoEscape roomIRLI really enjoyed this room. It was very multi-layered, with loads of great nostalgic easter eggs for me. The puzzles were thought provoking but nothing was too difficult. I think this can be done with 2-4 players easily. We had a bit of time left and only needed one little clue. Unfortunately we had some technical difficulties at the end of the room, but our game master was great to help reset the broken pieces and simulate the ending properly. There were some very cool and unexpected puzzles for scenarios we haven’t experienced before that was pretty cool to work through.
Wizard’s TowerMystique Escape RoomEscape roomIRLI wanted to love this room. I really did, the concept is so cool. Let me first say that the immersion in this room is absolutely fantastic, as well as the use of technology. The game master was wonderful as well. I absolutely loved the way they incorporated all five of your senses. However, this is a very non-linear room, so it felt hard to start, and even the first puzzle that we did find, which felt like the best starting point, was unnecessarily difficult- we knew how to solve it, we didn’t understand why it wasn’t working. Because of this, it made it feel like there wasn’t a natural progression into a nice easy start to more complex puzzles, regardless of how nonlinear it is. Some of the puzzles just seemed unnecessarily, hard, and the fact that we knew what we were trying to do but the room was so dimly lit or things would go so fast, or incredibly tiny details that were so easily missed makes it almost not enjoyable. Maybe because we only had two of us, more people might be a better experience. I really enjoyed the immersion and the creativity this room had. I just wish some of the puzzles were a little more understandable, because as we were going through, it felt like they were intentionally trying to trick you, even if you understood the concept so it felt a little defeating. That being said, I will absolutely go back and try the other rooms.
Outage: No VacancyThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLFantastic dark room!! This was the first dark room we ever played, and when they say dark, it’s pitch dark as in can’t see your hand in front of your face dark. Wonderful tactile puzzles that were challenging enough but not too overwhelming. One particular puzzle had us stumped so we did need a clue, but we breezed through the others. Great layout where different people can work on different puzzles at the same time. Communication is definitely key since you can see anything. Highly recommend with 2 people. It was just the two of us and can’t imagine adding anymore people, I feel like we would be tripping all over each other. If you’re frightened by pitch black spaces, this may not be for you. We throughly enjoyed the experience and felt it was so well done!
Bros for Life: Fraternity HeistThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLWhat a fantastic room! The atmosphere was very immersive! Every little detail was perfect. I can see why this won so many awards. The immersion was so fantastic! The puzzles were unique and loved how they were themed to the room. I’ve enjoyed all the rooms at this location, they do such a fantastic job. We had four people and two hints and escaped in 46 mins. So very doable room with beginner to intermediate experience.
The TerminalWill To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLGreat room, was more challenging than I personally expected. It had some unique puzzles that I thought were pretty cool. Requires a good amount of communication and team work for some puzzles. Game master was fantastic. We had 4 people and escaped with very minimal clues. Loved the ambiance, felt truly immersed.
Captain Spoopy Bones and the Magnificent Quest For Some Other Pirate's Treasure!Doldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWhat a fantastic room! This was completely immersive, and felt like you were actually on the ship. Amazing combination of technology and props. We loved the split start, definitely need to have really good communication with your team. It was only two of us, and we managed to escape, although we had to restart the last puzzle multiple times, so our game master gave us an additional five minutes. The puzzles had a great combination of fairly easy, two medium, very complex. We did have to ask for a couple hints along the way. The ending of the story was absolutely fantastic. Great production value throughout the whole room. Highly recommend, and don’t let the difficulty scare a group of two away. If you have a larger group, there are a lot of puzzles. Multiple people can solve at the same time, had a great combination of puzzles.
Prison BreakThe Escape Game - OrlandoEscape roomIRLThis room starts being split into two parties. Which the cells seem imbalanced in regards to puzzles and escaping to the common area. The puzzles were quite difficult. The immersion was fantastic. We were a bit disappointed that our game master didn’t tell us certain locks were not part of the game, so we wasted time trying to figure it out. We really enjoyed the layers and surprises this room had. We also had one puzzle that didn’t work properly-even the game master couldn’t get it to work, we assume that was a fluke. We didn’t escape this with our team of four (no strangers, we were lucky and booked lasted minute late night) but definitely look forward to trying other rooms here and eventually try this again once we forgot enough in time.
Bloodshed Bayou: Waters Uncharted - CLOSEDLocksmith Escape GamesEscape roomIRLReally enjoyed this room. My favorite at this location! The immersion is absolutely fantastic. The whole game really makes you feel like you’re there in a bayou. Interesting puzzles, nothing too complex but some have a unique spin to it. I enjoyed the start as there was no video or anything that tells you much background to start. We played with 4 and that felt like a good team size to work out the puzzles and communicate effectively.
Scooby-Doo™ and the Spooky Castle AdventureEscapology - OrlandoEscape roomIRLVery cute room. Really great for beginners or even kids. Puzzles were fairly easy to figure out. And some even had keys/instructions on the wall. Theming was fun as a scooby doo fan. If you’re looking for something particularly challenging, this isn’t your room. If you’re looking for fun and having a great time to enjoy the ambience, this is a great option for you. We were a team of 4, escaped in less then 50 minutes with no hints from the game master.
