Escape Ventures is one of the premiere Escape Room experiences in Florida. All six of their rooms are among the best we've ever done. Their newest room, Cornstalkers, is easily top 3 of the 155 rooms my wife and I have done. The level of immersiveness, interactivity, and detail that went into this room is unparalleled. Part escape room, part live theater, part Halloween Horror Nights house, Cornstalkers is WELL worth your time and money. Special shoutout to our game master James. Without giving anything away, his involvement in our experience was perfection. Everything he did added to how much we enjoyed the room immeasurably.

Doldrick's Escape Room

Escape Room #140 (!!!) took us back to Doldrickโ€™s in Kimissimmee for the first time since December 2019. This was their newest room, โ€œCrazy Train: The Ballad of Skeeminโ€™ Plotzโ€. After 140 games, I honestly think this may have been the absolute most fun escape room weโ€™ve ever done. The theming, the aesthetic, the plot, the interactivity, just every thing about the room was pure *fun*. We were put into an old Dudley Do Right-style black & white cartoon, having to stop the dastardly villain before our train reached the end of the line. It was a 75 minute room that we solved with just 3:06 remaining, making it a great value for our money. I honestly cannot recommend this one highly enough. If youโ€™re looking for an escape room in the Orlando area, I think this is my new top recommendation. The only problem is that all future escape rooms will now be held to this standard. :-) .

This room could and should have been so much better than it was. The concept was great, the surprises were many, the game flow had some truly unique aspects. But it was SO FRUSTRATING. Most of the puzzles were not actually difficult, except for the fact that the lighting in the room - in an attempt to keep with the horror aesthetic - was too friggin dark to see the clues. When we only canโ€™t solve a puzzle for five minutes because all three of us are straining to read the numbered plaque because itโ€™s too dark to see, thatโ€™s not a good puzzle or even a challenging puzzle, itโ€™s just a poor design. That happened multiple times throughout the room - the puzzles were only time consuming because we couldnโ€™t see the clues in the low lighting. And there was another puzzle that was only challenging because the lock was physically difficult to reach. Both of those aspects would be easy to fix. Just increase the lighting slightly or give us flashlights, and move the obstacle out of the way of that lock. And if they did both of those things, this would be a 10/10 room for me.
