Storyteller's Secret
Boxaroo
Escape room

Gorgeous set, very immersive. Some elements were hard to connect on our own to see what came next, but we were only 2 players and it's a complicated space so we missed things. Awesome, friendly staff.
Amnesia
Mystery Mansion
Escape room

Amnesia is complex, with multiple puzzle paths - our group of 4 who have done many escape rooms was busy the entire hour and enjoyed it.

Fabulous game play moments in this one. Locked boxes guided you from art piece to art piece, which was nice for clarity. Fun physical manipulation elements.

Lovely immersive decor, no pad locks. Creative opening mechanisms. Both major puzzles were finicky or not functioning so that we had to recreate last actions multiple times. Even with that, had 12 minutes left, so a short room for 5 people.
The Neighbor

Extremely impressive system to deliver hints or game progression. Haven't seen something like that before. A couple bits were fiddly, but overall a fantastic experience. The staff were fun to chat with afterward.
The Family Cabin
Quicksand Escape Games
Escape room

Some bits are well thought-out and others are left as blank white drywall. Lots of look-and-find for objects, a few clever details.
The Missing Season
Steal and Escape

Phenomenal designs and fun game play elements. Involves crawling for at least 1 player, and one element required lifting and moving somewhat heavy objects. Extremely clever ending that we adored.
Sister's Secret
The Unlockables - San Diego
Escape room
IRL
Dim lighting used as a way to make clues hard to find. Might be good for 6 people, as there are an insane number of puzzles/clues to work on in parallel. Had to stop play to get to another booking - this room was extended to 75 minutes because of the absolute blizzard of puzzles taking players a long time, and that wasn't on the website.
The Amulet of Time
Mystic Escape Room

Mix of magnetic locks and number/letter/key locks. A bit dimly-lit for 40-year-old eyes. Everything worked and it's well-maintained! Some fun reveals. Doable for 2!

Poorly maintained - necessary puzzle elements are written on things in permanent marker and are now indistinct or smudged. All laminated pieces are battered and have peeling edges that make it hard to line up for stacked clues. Lots of looking at fixed objects and matching with other fixed objects on another wall. Frustrating experience.
