The visuals were on point and with a killer soundtrack in the background you definitely feel like you're reliving your childhood... Ok, young adulthood... Anyways, it's great! The puzzles were a fun mix of brainteasers that really made all of us scramble to work through it all. The owners/designers are a hoot who love escape rooms as much a we do. We'll be back to do the holiday variations!
Time Chasers: Race for the CureTrap't Escape Room AdventuresEscape roomIRLThis was the only one of their rooms that I could recommend and would come back to try again so I could see how the ending played out. The story was engaging and I have always loved time travel themes; especially with the great way they implemented it through the tech and design. The set is absolutely amazing! The props and set pieces are gorgeous and really capture each of the different time periods. The puzzles were a step above anything in the other two rooms and I really enjoyed everything we came across. There is a lot to do in this room and two people simply couldn't cut it. If I am ever in the area again I will try this again.

There is so much to see and do that even if you could do it with a smaller team you'll want to be able to have the opportunity to take it all in. The staff was super nice in that they let us complete all of the rooms even though our time had run out on 5 of the 6 rooms. They aren't very chatty but I chalk that up to the amount of reset they need to do after a team works their way through the game. The sets are next level and are some of the best I have come across. Every detail is thought out to such an amazing degree. Kudos to the set team who designed the sets. The puzzles are beyond excellent! The flow was exceptional in every room! What Lies BeneathDisomus Escape ProjectEscape roomIRLI love it when a new escape room pops up!!! I was heading into Connecticut to play a nearby room and when I was realized this new place was right around the corner, I grabbed a slot and hoped for the best. I couldn't have told you what the theme of the room was when we arrived but I was gung ho! The lobby told me were in for something on a spooky level. The lighting and furnishing gave off a mix of dungeon / Hell's waiting room. Great atmosphere before we even started! The room's aesthetic was just as good, if not better, than the lobby. Futuristic and run down with a definite sense of dread. The theming ran through not just the decor but in every apsect of the puzzles. The puzzles were well thought out and really made you step back and look at the whole picture. Loved them all! The finale was great and we finished with big smiles on our faces. The owner/GM chatted with us after and was a delight. I cannot wait to see what their next room will be! Amazing job!!!

P.T. Railways: Rebel RunPuzzle Theory - South WindsorEscape roomIRLThis is such a unique concept for us! Two completely different escape rooms using the same set/rooms! And it works! It's a simple matter of just focusing on the color coordinated sections for your game. Loved it! We had done this room for the Spectral Rift and now needed to complete the Rebel Run side of things. The story was great and while we caught hints of the twist that was coming it still was absolutely delightful when it hit! The multi-layered set was astounding and just as amazing as before! The puzzles were all great and gave us both lots to do. This would be an amazing room for families.

Legends of the Lost TempleEscape from RealityEscape roomIRLIt's always a delight to meet owners who are also enthusiasts. You can tell they love their work and they pour their hearts and souls into their rooms. After a great conversation in the lobby, we were led into the hallway and given our backstory. We made the mistake of turning our back to our GM and POOF she disappeared and left us to our task. The first puzzle was finding our way into the room and it set the tone for the rest of the adventure. The plot of the game was your standard adventure fare but done with a great attention to detail. I felt like we were in an episode of Indiana Jones. The set was amazing and all of the set pieces and props had a fine attention to detail. The puzzles were well thought out and fun. I thought that were just hard enough to make us struggle but never made it feel impossible. This was an amazing room and really can't wait to see what they come up with for their third room.
The Christmas Countdown: Checked TwiceEscape from RealityEscape roomIRLHo, ho, ho!!! It was Christmas in July and I, for one, loved it!!! This was our second room of the day and an amazing way to end our time with these great people! While I think enthusiasts would enjoy this room, families and first timers will find this an incredible adventure!! The set is adorable and filled with delightful touches that put you in the perfect Christmas spirit. All of the puzzles are delightful and fun to complete. Be careful though, it is possible to solve some puzzles early and it can leave you a little confused as to where clues are leading you. There is a surprise second section that I will leave for you to discover on your own. Bring your kids to this great room and prepare for a great time! I love this group and their rooms and I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
Project MarsGranite State EscapeEscape roomIRLIf you asked the GM if we liked the room, they would have said obviously not, they swore so much. If you asked up at the time, we probably would have agreed. We did get frustrated a lot. Upon looking back, I realized that the frustration was completely our fault. We attempted the room with just the two of us and that was the problem. While it does recommend a much larger group, I feel that one more person would have made the difference. The room is very linear. Several times we gently nudged to go back because we were jumping ahead. If we had one person to bounce ideas off we would have been able to solve puzzles a bit quicker and may have escaped in time. The best part of the room was the story. I won't give it away because I feel you will get a kick out of it and it is worth going into blind. The set is amazing and everything looks right out an episode of Star Trek. The puzzles were a step above what I've come across in these scifi rooms. I really had some fun solving them and think you and two of your best solving friends will enjoy them as well.
Gangster Gnomes 2 Out On ParoleCodeword EscapeEscape roomIRLWhat an amazing room! I had no idea this was a Christmas themed room when I booked it, but it made for a nice surprise. The story was adorable and I wish I had brought my young nephew along for the ride. The set is extremely well done and was full of a great combo of holiday cheer and the gnomes. The puzzles were clever and included some new and exciting things that I had not come across before. Overall, this was a fabulous room and I can't wait to bring my nephew back here come December.
Son of The ZodiacQuandary WallingfordEscape roomIRLAhhh, serial killers and their lairs. They together with escape rooms like bread and butter, or ham and eggs, or blood and guts... This is your standard escape the madman plot but it's done with a few nifty tricks up its gore soaked sleeves. The setting seems normal enough. Body parts and blood here and there - all very decorative and delightful. They make really good use of the building itself in creating hidey holes to store away puzzles and clues. The puzzles are very well done and had the two of us scrambling to escape in time. This was my top room we've done with the group (so far) and were very happuy with our time here. I recommend this room with two severed thumbs up.
The AftermathBangor Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis was my probably my favorite room of the day. The story was great and everything about the experience fed into the immersion. The puzzles were a mixed bag. Nothing was super hard and it all flowed great. There were many wow moments when we figured out what we were meant to do to solve them. Two puzzles were able to be solved without accessing all of the components and they weren't solved via brute force but rather with logic. The one puzzle that gave us the most trouble would have been solved if we actually paid attention to the prop and solved it the way it was meant to be solved. Silly us. This will teach us not to rely on old game shows. I loved the final puzzle. It was beautiful in its simplicity. Kudos, again, to this great group!
The MallComplexity: A Puzzling AdventureEscape roomIRLMeh. This room wasn't my cup of tea. The GM we met when we arrived was nice enough but showed no real enthusiasm for the experience. GM's really make or break the game for me, and this made me iffy right from the start. The set was disappointing. I loved the concept and the overall look of the space but the execution was at fault. The painting job was haphazard, and the book section was filled with "books" that had obviously seen better days. The overall aesthetic tainted the day, and it made me feel the owners didn't carry enough to upgrade or just do simple repairs and maintenance. I am not sure if this is just an early room because they have two other locations in the area that look amazing. The puzzles were fine but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, it was a lackluster end to our trip to the area.

Quest For The King’s CrownBangor Escape GamesEscape roomIRLLong live the King! Huzzah! Another great room in Bangor! This was our pentultimate room with the company and it lived up to our expectations. The set was absolutely gorgeous and really gave you the feel of being back in the days of Camelot. The puzzles were tricky and really stretched us to our limit. There is one puzzle that even they admit makes no real logical sense and they tell you right off the bat that when you get to it they are simply going to provide the answer. Go with it! You would have to be Merlin himself to figure it out. Everything else flowed nicely and we were treated like royalty.
A Pirate's CurseEscapology - BraintreeEscape roomIRLThis is probably my favorite room in the Escapology series (so far)!!! This is a perfect room to do with your family. I brought my sister and nephews and they had an absolute ball! The story was exciting and the peril was intensified with the Captain constantly warning us of our impending doom! The set is amazing and it carries it theme throughout all of the sections. The puzzles were great and really caught me a few times but everything flowed nicely and gave us a fun challenge! I wish there were more rooms to do in the area. I guess I'll have to set sail and find some new challenges!
