Cornstalkers: Lost in the MaizeThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLEasily slid into our top 5 rooms of all time. Perfect, no notes
The InquisitionLara's Labyrinth - MiddletownEscape roomIRLNot our cup of tea. Not a whole lot to do in this one, minimal puzzles. Most of the time is spent searching for things (keys). Wouldn’t play with more than 2-3 people (tight spaces, linear, not much to do) It sounds like there is one cool effect in the room, but we didn’t get to see it because one of the keys opened a door it was not supposed to so we bypassed that part of the game. The gamemaster told us about it after, but would not let us see it because it would add additional reset time… which seems pretty lame? We payed full price for the room (+gamemaster tip) and got out early, so it seems silly not to let us see the whole room (the “tech” error was their fault after all). Overall, I would say play Da Vinci at this location, but maybe skip this one.
Into The Depths: SubmergedMission Escape Games - West Hartford, CTEscape roomIRLWell done submarine room that did a lot with a small footprint (fitting for the theme). However, at $57 per person (for 2 people weekend pricing) it’s crazy that we didn’t have a game master watching our game for the majority of the experience (we assume Mission had her running/hosting multiple games at the same time). We were missing a ‘decoder’ so it was not possible for us to solve the puzzle and spent 12 minutes intermittently waving our hands in the air (5-6x) asking for a hint… with no response. The clue we eventually got after our clock ticked way down made it obvious they were not watching our game, as they had no idea we didn’t have an essential component to the puzzle. Out of nearly 300 rooms, we have thankfully only experienced this lack of gamemaster 1-2x, as it really does put a big drag on the experience. Overall, this could be one of the better rooms in the area if they go to 1:1 gamemaster:game.
Gangster Gnomes 2 Out On ParoleCodeword EscapeEscape roomIRLCute mom-and-pop Christmas room- lots of locks, lots of puzzles, and lots of gnomes. Great family room, but for enthusiasts, keep team size down to 2-3 (definitely wouldn’t play with more than 4) or else you’ll be flying through this room. Go in with expectation of some solid puzzles in a low-key setting (I.e. no big reveals / ‘wow’ moments) and you’ll have a great time
Do Not DisturbEscapismEscape roomIRLSolid game with a fun immersive start. A good mix and number of puzzles, with both old school lock and key/combo and tech. Spooky without being scary (no jump scares). The story added to the spooky tension, but the end “choice” fell flat as it doesn’t affect anything? But overall definitely worth playing for a group of 2-4

The Davinci ChallengeLara's Labyrinth - MiddletownEscape roomIRL👍🏼👍🏼. Great set design, great puzzle flow. Sound and lighting were well done. Would recommend to 2-3 enthusiasts or larger groups of newbies. One of the stronger rooms in CT.
P.T. Railways: Spectral RiftPuzzle Theory - South WindsorEscape roomIRLA little bit of a rough start to the game with a reset error, and incorrectly timed audio clue that led to some confusion, and a linear puzzle path with some difficult searching, but our frustration faded as the game progressed. The set was very well done, and the game space was bigger than expected. Tough to say how many players I would recommend this game for… because of the mostly linear puzzle path, I would say keep it <4. However, the game relies heavily on searching (you will have to scan the ENTIRE game space with a common escape room element) so a big group would be better for that. On the other hand, as we played as a group of 2, Spectral Rift was nearly $70 per person.. which was not worth the game we experienced (in our opinion). All in all, it is definitely one of the better rooms in CT and
Movie MayhemCodeword EscapeEscape roomIRLGreat puzzles and flow. Puzzles were a good mix, made sense, and were substantial enough to keep a group of 5 (with varying experience levels) busy for almost a full hour. As a game that opened in 2019, it still holds up. Tech-driven with only one physical lock. Set is more of a charming homemade feel rather than reality immersive (not a bad thing). Definitely worth a play.
Heart Of BastetLara's Labyrinth - WethersfieldEscape roomIRLPSA- this is the same exact game as Red Giant at Quest Room in LA
Be'WitchedLara's Labyrinth - WethersfieldEscape roomIRLPSA- this is the same game as Spellbreakers at Quest Room in LA
The Jungle Dimension - CLOSEDPuzzle Theory - South WindsorEscape roomIRLOverall, it was a decent game for 2 people. I wouldn’t play with more, given the limited physical space. Think ‘room with jungle themed puzzles’ rather than a ‘jungle immersive room’. Some good use of light and sound.
InvasionMind Factory Escape GamesEscape roomIRLWe took a little chance given the lack of written reviews… but glad we did. This room was fantastic- atmosphere, puzzle flow, immersion were all on point. Combo of low tech and high tech elements that made sense within the narratives Invasion is creepy, but not overtly scary. There’s plenty to do, so great for enthusiasts. For less experienced, I would recommend a group of 4 or more.
Teleporter TrialsLock, Clock, and Peril Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLFantastic room with great puzzles, strong flow, immersive set, a well thought-out story (that made sense why we were doing the things we were doing), fun/funny moments, and a very memorable beginning and end. An absolute must play. Owners are great as well.
High Speed NYC - CLOSEDExit Escape Room MiamiEscape roomIRLPretty decent. We had a couple reset errors but the gamemaster recovered well. Definitely keep team size down to 2 for enthusiasts.
The Morgue - CLOSEDWill To Escape - JupiterEscape roomIRLAnytime we finish a room in less than 30 minutes (without rushing), it’s hard to not feel a little cheated (especially when it’s $40+ per person). Really think in these situations it would be great to offer a discount on the next room (especially if there is open bookings immediately after)- win-win, as it’s unlikely we would ever come back to try their other rooms given how short this one was. Overall, this room has a good atmosphere and sound/music, but given the limited number of straightforward puzzles and some broken tech, I wouldn’t recommend this room to enthusiasts.
Outside In - CLOSEDTop Tier Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLOutside In was a fun, funny, cute, unique adventure from beginning to end. Though we’ve played 200+ escape rooms, we’ve never played a game similar to Outside In. We really enjoyed the humor, varied puzzles, and fun ending to Outside In. For enthusiasts, I would keep the group size on the smaller size (2-3) given the linear nature of the room. For newbies, 3-4 would be ideal. There is one puzzle that was a little “guess what the designer was thinking” but the solution does make sense. Overall, Outside In was a solid room with several unique elements- play this game if you’re in the area
The Sneaky Snake LoungeEscape UEscape roomIRLGreat set design, fun live actor interaction, climactic ending (though slightly telegraphed). Puzzles didn’t flow 100% for us, but weren’t bad. Definitely worth playing for a group of 2-3
Possession At Haddon HeightsThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomIRLUnique theme, immersive environment, some fun moments. Could have been pretty immersive and scary, but we had a tech failure so the GM had to come into the room. But otherwise, was a great room
Neighborhood WatcherThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLSuch as fun game. Perfect execution with a live actor. Rode the perfect in-between of funny/scary. Great immersion, fun moments. Would keep team size on the smaller side- 2-3 would probably be best.
