We have played quite a few escape rooms and feel the rating could be reduced to 3/5 difficulty. The atmosphere and props were suitable for the theme of the room and the game flowed well.

The Legend of Captain RiddlebeardRed Lock Escape Rooms - CoomeraEscape roomIRLThe entirety of the experience is essentially about solving the multitude of puzzles within the treasure chest. I felt that there could be another puzzle or two in the second room. The chest itself did malfunction twice however the GM was very attentive and compensated and sought help promptly. The puzzles in the chest itself didn’t lend itself to the theme of the room (apart from the fact that it was in a treasure chest). There was one puzzle in the chest that was not utilised at all. One of the other puzzles took a little longer but found that another person couldn’t necessarily assist so they just stood around waiting. Overall the room was fine.

I love the commencement of the room - it involves you from the get go. I played with an 11 & 12 year old and whilst some moments feel dark and spooky, it’s nothing that cant be handled.

The Perfect Doll - CLOSEDFourth Wall EscapeEscape roomIRLThe storyline was a little difficult to follow. Puzzles were good however there was one where we needed to reuse some. I played with a with my two kids (11-12) and we managed to complete the room but definitely on the harder side.
Vampire Castle - CLOSEDMission Escape Pitt StEscape roomIRLI really noticed the age of the room, particularly as we played their newest room at the venue before we played this one. The theme was fine but perhaps a revamp on the puzzles will make it more interesting.
Dark DungeonLost LocksEscape roomIRLGreat concept being in the dark and the end bit. We totally missed some of the elements that would be a jump scare as e had our eyes closed the whole time.

The theming of the room was fine however there wasn’t any real flow to the room. One of the puzzles in the first room lagged terribly which made solving the puzzle extremely difficult. The GM said that we needed to do it slower but it still lagged terribly.
HacksawRush Escape Game - HawthornEscape roomIRLRoom was fine. I played with a 10 and 12 year old and didn’t find the room scary at all (despite the GM not feeling comfortable in having the kids handcuffed). In saying so, we have done prison escape rooms that we start off handcuffed but I appreciate the caution. If I’m being super critical, it would be great to have another room to go to. The way out of the room is cool but would be great if it was part of the game.
The Nine-NineRush Escape Game - HawthornEscape roomIRLLoved the theming of the room (we are fans of the show). We figured a few things out earlier before finding all the pieces so we probably threw our own game off. Fun room with some perfectly themed puzzles.
Time Travel Paradox [VR]Zero Latency - Gold CoastEscape roomIRLThis was the first VR Escape Room I had done. It took a little getting used to. The theme threw us a little but once we got into it, it became more fun. Two players are fine and would be enjoyable for kids and families too
The NunLost in Melbourne - Exhibition StreetEscape roomIRLThis room had a great scary eerie theme to it. Although we were aware of no live actors, the anticipation of jump scares kept us on our toes. This room was completed by myself and my eleven year and we both enjoyed the room. I am on the shorter side and there were three things in particular that we needed to find something to stand on to reach or see through. I did find some of the puzzles (when you had to read hidden things) difficult to read (probably just needs to be retouched up). The theming and props were great
Ninja Lost in Melbourne - Exhibition StreetEscape roomIRLThis room was well themed and definitely a physical room (not so great if you have had ACL reconstructive surgery 😝) but hella fun. I completed this along with my eleven year old and we really enjoyed ourselves. The puzzles were interactive and the use of projectors really complemented the room. Kids would love this room
Mafia: The Golden RingAdventure Rooms - Melbourne (Bourke St)Escape roomIRLMy eleven year old and I completed this room. The room would definitely suit a minimum of two experienced players or more than two players. Definitely one of the more challenging rooms we have done. Great puzzles. The Game Master was awesome and gave us a few more minutes so that we could finish the room. We did utilise the clues they gave along the way.
UnseenLost in Melbourne - Exhibition StreetEscape roomIRLThis room was the right level of spooky. I completed this with my eleven year old and it did help knowing there wasn’t any live actors. There is a unique travel space that I haven’t experienced in any other room. Theming was awesome and the use of sound effects was appropriate.
The Christmas Heist! - CLOSEDPadlock'd Escape roomIRLPuzzles were interactive and good for all ages. Puzzles were the right type of challenge for a family friendly room
Monsters IncRush Escape Game - South YarraEscape roomIRLI have done a couple of Monsters Inc themed rooms and this wasn’t my favourite. Props felt a little dated and slightly dirty. It did not flow very well and it was a little confusing whether we completed the room.
