Henchmen’s Heist

Henchmen’s Heist

10/10 — HIGH-TECH & FULL OF SURPRISES! After completing Mongollon Monster, we also took on Henchmen Heist at Nemesis Club, and once again, they absolutely delivered! I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical going into this one. We normally gravitate toward creepy, scary and horror-themed rooms, so a superhero-style room wouldn’t normally be my first choice. But Henchmen Heist absolutely lived up to the hype. First, the opening storyline and the way you actually get into the room was FANTASTIC! Before we even really started, I remember thinking, Okayyyy…this is about to be GOOD. 😂 It immediately set the tone for the experience—and once we got inside, the room did not disappoint. The technology is incredible and makes the entire game feel like a full-scale production rather than just a collection of puzzles. It’s very high-tech, but I loved that they still incorporated a few nods to traditional, old-school escape-room puzzling. The room is non-linear, with plenty to work on simultaneously, but everything still feels connected to the theme and storyline. We also encountered several puzzle concepts that we’d never experienced before, and when you’ve done as many escape rooms as we have, finding something genuinely new is ALWAYS refreshing. My husband and I tackled this one with just the two of us and escaped with UNDER 3 MINUTES REMAINING! 😩😂 It was literally a RACE TO THE FINISH. I think 3–4 players would probably be the sweet spot for this room because there’s so much happening, but experienced players can absolutely tackle it as a duo—we’re proof! Just be prepared to MOVE. Another thing we loved was the humor. There were several genuinely funny moments throughout the experience, and we LOVE when a room can make us laugh while we’re simultaneously stressing ourselves out trying to solve puzzles. 😂 But there were TWO things that absolutely MADE this room for us. First, that opening sequence. BRILLIANT. It immediately pulled us into the story and made us feel like participants rather than people simply walking into another escape room. And second… 🚨SPOILER ALERT 🚨 STOP READING HERE IF YOU PLAN ON PLAYING! We had to EAT SOMETHING TO PROGRESS THROUGH THE GAME!! 😳😳😳 WHAT?! In all the escape rooms we’ve done, we have NEVER encountered that before. And our GM was NOT playing with us either! 😂 There was no “ehhh, we don’t want to do it, can we move on?” NOPE……EAT. THE. THING. He wasn’t progressing that game until we did it. 😂😂 That moment alone will probably have us talking about Henchmen Heist for YEARS. It’s exactly the type of unexpected interaction that makes an escape room memorable long after you’ve forgotten individual puzzle combinations. END SPOILER 🚨 Overall, Henchmen Heist had everything we want in a great room: an amazing storyline, incredible technology, creative puzzles, surprises we’d never encountered before, humor, great theming and a frantic race to the finish. Nemesis Club has absolutely mastered making their rooms feel like experiences, not just escape games. 10/10 ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!
10/10 — ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. IMMERSION ON ANOTHER LEVEL! Mongolian Monster at Nemesis Club was absolutely AMAZING!! We’ve done A LOT of escape rooms, and the production quality of this room was honestly beyond anything I’ve experienced before. From the moment we entered, it didn’t feel like we had walked onto an escape-room set—it genuinely felt like we had stepped into an actual campsite. The attention to detail was INSANE. The sights, the sounds, the wind, even the SMELLS—they incorporated so many sensory elements that you completely forget you’re standing inside a building in Arizona. The campsite is dimly lit, which only heightens the atmosphere and makes the entire experience feel even more realistic and immersive. And thankfully, the puzzles lived up to the set! There were more than enough puzzles to keep a group of four busy, although there were only two of us playing. We still managed to get through everything with a few nudges in the right direction. The puzzles made sense within the world of the room, stayed on theme and complemented the storyline instead of feeling like random puzzles placed inside an amazing set. The storyline was fantastic, and then came the ENDING. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 NO SPOILERS—but what a way to finish this experience!! The ending took an already incredible room and somehow made it even better. It gave us exactly the kind of payoff we want after being completely immersed in a story for an hour. This is what I want from an escape room: production, atmosphere, storytelling, puzzles, immersion and a memorable finale. Nemesis Club absolutely NAILED IT. 10/10. If you’re an escape-room enthusiast and find yourself anywhere near Phoenix, PUT THIS ONE ON YOUR LIST.

⭐ 100/10 — THIS is How You Do an Escape Room! 🌽🤡 Cornstalkers at The Escape Ventures absolutely OVERDELIVERED. This wasn’t just an escape room—it was an experience from beginning to end. Let’s start with Giggles the Clown. Having a live actor incorporated into the game was GENIUS. We could only see his hands reaching through the wagon window, but his presence and interactions with us throughout the first half of the room added SO much to the experience. He was funny, creepy, unpredictable and constantly had us wondering what was coming next. 😂🤡 The set design was incredibly immersive. Every detail felt like it belonged in this world. There were moments when you almost forgot you were inside an escape room because the environment was THAT convincing. And the PUZZLES!! There are a LOT of them, and they range from challenging to “okay…what are we missing?!” You absolutely need the full 90 minutes. This is not a room where you’re going to run out of things to do. Then add in jump scares—which we LOVE—and moments where the group is forced to split up?! YES!! Anytime an escape room makes us separate, knowing somebody is probably about to experience something the rest of us can’t see, it immediately raises the tension and makes the experience so much better. And THE ENDING!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 No spoilers, but this room deserved a memorable finale, and they gave it one. The ending was exactly the kind of payoff an experience like Cornstalkers needed. We do A LOT of escape rooms, so it takes something special to really surprise us. Cornstalkers did that. Immersive set, tons of puzzles, live interaction, scares, laughter, teamwork, forced separation and a finale worthy of everything that came before it. Final Rating: 100/10 🌽🤡🔐 Cornstalkers didn’t just meet our expectations—it blew past them. I would recommend this room time and time again. If you love immersive escape rooms and don’t mind a little creepiness, PUT THIS ONE ON YOUR LIST.

⭐ 8/10 — A Fun, Physical Mission With Plenty to Do! ❄️🔐 We also completed Operation Arctic Storm at The Escape Ventures, and this was another really solid room! That first room had us in a PICKLE! 😂 We definitely had to work to get ourselves moving, but once we made it out of that section, the rest of the experience became much more intuitive and flowed really well. There are a LOT of puzzles in this room, ranging from fairly easy to genuinely challenging. I would definitely recommend bringing a solid group of 3–4 people, because there is plenty to work on and having multiple brains—and hands—makes a difference. The set design was top tier and really sold the Arctic mission theme. The transitions made sense, the room flowed well, and we always felt like we were progressing further into the mission rather than simply moving from one random puzzle to another. This is also a physical room! Be prepared to crawl, descend and climb your way through parts of the experience. Nothing felt unreasonable for us, but you’re definitely doing more than standing around opening locks—and we enjoyed that! We also LOVED the addition of the live actor. It added another layer to the mission and made the experience feel more interactive and immersive instead of just being four people solving puzzles alone in a room. Overall, Operation Arctic Storm was a really good experience. Lots to do, a nice range of puzzle difficulty, excellent set design, physical elements and a live actor that gave the mission an extra touch. Final Rating: 8/10 ❄️🔐 Definitely recommend this one—especially if you enjoy escape rooms that make you move, communicate and divide and conquer!

⭐ 5/10 — Great Set, Underwhelming Game As experienced escape room players, we really wanted to love The Murder of ’89. The set design was definitely the highlight — the room looked great, the atmosphere was there, and visually it felt like it had the potential to be a really strong experience. Unfortunately, the actual gameplay didn’t quite live up to the set. The puzzles felt a little lackluster and the overall theme/story wasn’t developed enough for us. We kept waiting for that moment where everything would start to come together or the game would really kick into another gear, but it never quite got there. For such an interesting premise, we felt like there was a lot more that could have been done with both the mystery and the puzzles. The ending was definitely different from your traditional escape room. Instead of solving your way to actually escaping, the final objective was to determine who murdered the girl and what weapon they used. If your accusation was correct, you won. We can appreciate them trying something different, but for us, it wasn’t particularly satisfying. This ending felt more like submitting an answer to a murder mystery than escaping a room. Out of all the rooms here, we completed all escape the wizard room, this room is the weakest for sure for us. Overall, the set design did a lot of the heavy lifting here. Visually, it was on point, but the puzzles, story progression, and finale needed more to make the experience memorable. We didn’t hate it, but this one just didn’t give us the puzzle satisfaction or payoff we look for. Final Rating: 5/10 🔐 meh… Great set. Cool concept. Just needed stronger puzzles and a much better payoff.

We had a really good time with The Soul Collector at Captured LV! There were four of us playing, and this room had the perfect amount of puzzles to keep everyone involved. Nobody was standing around waiting for something to do, which is always a huge plus for us. The atmosphere was creepy without taking away from the actual gameplay, and the set design really helped pull us into the theme. Even better, there were a few puzzle mechanics and set elements that we had never encountered before — we do a lot of escape rooms, finding something that feels genuinely new is always refreshing! The room is non-linear, so we were able to split up and work on different things at the same time, but it was still organized enough that we never felt completely lost about what we were supposed to be doing. The puzzles were a great mix of challenging and fun. A few of them really forced us to think outside of our normal puzzle wheelhouse, which we loved. We ended up using 3 clues and still didn’t make it out, if we had just 2 more minute we woulda made it, lol. there were definitely some moments where we had to stop, regroup and look at things from a completely different angle. Overall, The Soul Collector was a solid room — creepy atmosphere, plenty to do, creative puzzles, some unique surprises, and a good level of difficulty for an experienced group. Final Rating: 8/10 🔐👻 Definitely one of those rooms where you walk out talking about a few of the puzzles afterward — and for us, that’s always a good sign!

First let me say that we had high hopes for this room, we’ve done Escapology in Vegas and loved that room. We have a bunch of Escapolgy rooms on our wishlist and decided to start with this one. The puzzles in these 3 rooms require a lot of deducing and leaps. The stained glass puzzle and the skull book case are the worst. We never asked for so many hints in a room….. it was beyond frustrating. We told our game master before we got into the room that if we are going in the wrong direction or focusing on something that we don’t need yet to nudge us on the right direction. She never did….. only telling us how to complete each puzzle when we asked for a hint! We tried to alert her that one of the puzzle pieces broke and she never answered us! It was a chain with an ornament attached but the ornament broke off, make it hard to do the puzzle correctly…. We ended up walking out this room when we could not find the book the game master kept telling us to go to, to solve the last puzzle. We kept trying to get her attention and ask questions but no answer! When we walked out she was surprised, we told her we don’t have and couldn’t find the book she kept telling us to go to. She walked us back to the room and showed us that the lock to the book was hidden under the globe and we failed to see it. She put two minutes back on the clock and basically talked us through the rest of the room for us to get out. At that point we didn’t care, we were frustrated and wanted out. I don’t count this room as a win cause we hated it and our experience. When we voiced our concerns at the end of the room the game master basically said she was the only one there today, she was watching 3 other rooms, and has a trainee shadowing her. She turned off the audio to all the rooms because she can’t focus on all of them at the same time so she wasn’t able to hear us when we were asking about the broken chain, she also said she she wasn’t able to follow us to give us nudges as we asked because she had other rooms to moderate as well. Overall 0/10 experience with the room, service and staff! We left frustrated and defeated even though we got out. I won’t be back to this location but I’ll try other Escapology rooms.
