10/10 ⭐️: DOWN TO THE WIRE WITH TWO SECONDS TO SPARE!! Galactic Wars at Encrypted Escape was an ABSOLUTE BLAST!! Now, I’ll be the first to admit that this is NOT a theme we would normally choose. We’re typically drawn to horror, creepy atmospheres, and darker storylines, so a space-themed alien war room was definitely outside our usual wheelhouse. But after enjoying The Last Vampire so much, we decided to step outside our comfort zone and give Galactic Wars a shot. And BOY, ARE WE GLAD WE DID!! First, the set design was a solid 10/10. From beginning to end, everything was beautifully themed and fully immersed us in this futuristic alien-war environment. The production was impressive, the technology worked seamlessly, and the storyline remained cohesive throughout the entire experience. The puzzles were FANTASTIC and felt like they genuinely belonged in the world of the game. In particular, the first three puzzles were incredibly immersive and immediately pulled us into the mission. We loved how the puzzles were integrated into the storyline instead of feeling like separate challenges that just happened to be in a space-themed room. The game follows a linear progression, which we really enjoyed. And while this isn’t one of the largest escape rooms we’ve experienced, don’t let the size fool you. THIS ROOM IS PACKED WITH PUZZLES!! There was an excellent range of difficulty, from relatively straightforward challenges to puzzles that really made us stop, regroup, and THINK. We ended up using three clues throughout the game, and then came the ending… WE ESCAPED WITH LITERALLY TWO SECONDS LEFT ON THE CLOCK!! The adrenaline, the urgency, the frantic teamwork, and that final moment when we realized we’d actually made it out with practically no time remaining… THAT IS WHAT ESCAPE ROOMS ARE ALL ABOUT!! Those are the moments that make you walk out laughing, celebrating, and replaying the final seconds in your head. And honestly, the entire experience was just fun. The puzzles were creative, the storyline made sense, the room flowed beautifully, and the technology and set design brought everything together. We can absolutely understand why Galactic Wars has received awards. Galactic Wars is absolutely worth playing. 10/10 — HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

9/10 ⭐️— A HIDDEN GEM… BUT THAT CLOCK!! 🧛🏽‍♂️🕰️ The Last Vampire at Encrypted Escape was such a pleasant surprise! We absolutely LOVED this room, and it quickly became one of those hidden gems that remind us why we enjoy escape rooms so much. First, the set design was A1! From the moment we entered, we were transported into what felt like Dracula’s house. The dim lighting, spooky music, atmospheric details, and overall environment created a wonderfully creepy and immersive experience. The storyline was well thought out, and the puzzles followed a logical, cohesive sequence that made sense within the world of the game. We especially appreciated the linear progression, including the clever use of lighting to guide us through the experience. There was a little bit of everything: logic, written clues, musical elements, diagrams, skill-based challenges, and so much more. It genuinely felt like there was something for everyone, and the puzzles remained consistent with the vampire theme rather than feeling randomly inserted. We were having an AMAZING time. Until… THE CLOCK. 🕰️😩 IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW!!! I don’t want to spoil the puzzle itself, but this particular skill-based challenge brought our momentum to a SCREECHING HALT. We spent approximately 20 MINUTES trying to complete it. TWENTY. MINUTES. And not because we couldn’t figure out what needed to be done, but because the physical execution of the task was unnecessarily frustrating. Eventually, the GMs came in and gave us the key so we could move forward. Unfortunately, by that point, so much time had been lost that we ultimately did not escape. And THAT was frustrating because we were SO CLOSE! What made it even more disappointing was our conversation with the GMs afterward. When we mentioned the clock, their response was essentially, “Oh yeah, that happens to a lot of people.”😒 If this is a recurring issue for multiple groups, then perhaps that particular aspect of the puzzle needs some adjustment. I’m not saying remove it or make the room easier. I’m saying modify the execution slightly so the challenge remains fun instead of becoming a bottleneck. We understand that some groups complete it without issue, and that’s great! But when a skill-based task repeatedly prevents players from progressing despite understanding the solution, it may be worth reconsidering the mechanics. We genuinely felt robbed of what we knew was going to be a satisfying ending. And the frustrating part is that EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT THIS ROOM WAS FANTASTIC! The atmosphere, storyline, puzzle variety, logical progression, and immersion were all incredibly well done. Despite our frustration with that ONE puzzle, we would ABSOLUTELY recommend The Last Vampire. Just beware… THAT. CLOCK. 😂

10/10 ⭐️— WE’RE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE!! 🌈👠🦁 OH. MY. GOODNESS. WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE ROOM!! Wizard of Oz at 13th Hour Escape Rooms was EVERYTHING I hoped it would be and MORE!! Let me start by admitting that I am a little biased because The Wizard of Oz is one of my ALL TIME favorite movies. So naturally, I walked into this room with some pretty high expectations, and a little skepticism about whether they could truly do the movie justice. Well, let me tell you… THEY NAILED IT!! From the very beginning, this room was a 10/10 experience. The set design was TOP TIER, and the level of detail throughout the experience was absolutely incredible. The technology, animatronics, mechanical elements, and overall production quality were just… CHEF’S KISS!! It genuinely felt like we had stepped straight into the Land of Oz. And what made this room so special was that it wasn’t just visually beautiful. The puzzles, storyline, and environment all worked together seamlessly. THIS is what we look for in an escape room! The game follows a linear progression, which we absolutely loved, and nearly every puzzle was directly connected to the movie. There were only about three that weren’t specifically tied to the film, but even those made perfect sense within the stage of the adventure we were experiencing. The puzzles offered a wonderful mix of challenge and nostalgia. There were moments that made us stop and think, and others that made us smile because of how cleverly they incorporated familiar elements from the movie. It was the perfect balance of puzzle-solving and storytelling. The immersion was PHENOMENAL. Every new space felt like another chapter of the movie coming to life, and the technology elevated the experience without overshadowing the puzzles themselves. I cannot emphasize enough how beautifully this room was executed. After completing over 100 escape rooms, it takes something REALLY special to land among our absolute favorites. WIZARD OF OZ DID EXACTLY THAT! This room has EASILY earned a spot in our TOP THREE ESCAPE ROOMS OF ALL TIME!! 🏆 If you love The Wizard of Oz, this is an absolute MUST DO. And even if you’ve never seen the movie, the production quality, creativity, puzzles, and immersive storytelling make this an incredible experience. 13th Hour knocked this one completely out of the park!

5/10 ⭐️: INCREDIBLE Production, Frustrating Execution! We drove 2.5 HOURS to experience Fall Harvest at 13th Hour Escape Rooms, their newest installment, after reading nothing but glowing reviews. So naturally, we HAD to see what all the hype was about! And let me start by saying this: THE SET DESIGN AND IMMERSION?! 100/10. ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!! Seriously, 13th Hour knows how to build an environment! The attention to detail was incredible. This room is MASSIVE, spanning seven different spaces, and visually, it is absolutely phenomenal. You genuinely feel transported into the world they’ve created. There are also a TON of puzzles. I would highly recommend a group of at least four experienced players, because there is more than enough to keep everyone occupied. We tackled it with three, and unfortunately, we just couldn’t get through everything in time. Now, here’s where things get complicated. The puzzle style just wasn’t for us. We generally prefer linear rooms, although we’ve played some fantastic non-linear experiences. Fall Harvest involves quite a bit of moving back and forth between spaces, with puzzles that often require several steps to complete. Most were challenging, some were easier, and there were definitely a few creative ones that we really enjoyed. But there were also puzzles that left us scratching our heads—and not in a good way. The license plates, for example? Yeah…we were NOT fans. However, our biggest issue wasn’t even the difficulty. IT WAS THE TECHNICAL DELAYS! Multiple times, we completed puzzles correctly, but nothing happened. Naturally, we assumed we’d done something wrong, so we kept trying or requested a clue, only to be told we’d already solved it and needed to push something harder, pull something further, or manipulate something again. We found ourselves repeatedly saying, “WE DID THAT ALREADY!” The biggest offender was the projector. We solved the puzzle that was supposed to activate it, but the projector never came on. We spent 10 minutes trying to figure out what we were missing while being told to look at a projection that literally WASN’T THERE! Eventually, the GM had to physically enter the room and reset the equipment. They added 15 minutes back to our clock, which we appreciated, but by then the interruption had already taken us completely out of the experience. Then there’s the live actor. We LOVE live actors in escape rooms, especially when they add tension, scares, or meaningful interaction. But the first encounter here felt completely unnecessary. The second interaction actually contributed something to the game, but the first seemed to serve no real purpose. And the storyline? We were hired to help set up a fall harvest, then somehow we’re missing, trying to figure out who murdered people who weren’t even part of the setup, all while an ’80s soundtrack is blasting throughout the rooms. HUH?! 😂 The narrative just felt scattered, and we struggled to connect the various elements into one cohesive experience. After spending a whopping 2 hours and 15 minutes in the room, we had completed approximately 75% of the game. Three experienced players. Plenty of effort. And we still didn’t make it out. Now, I want to be fair. This is NOT a horrible escape room. In fact, I can absolutely understand why some people love it. The production value is exceptional, the environment is enormous, and the puzzles are plentiful and largely on theme. But this particular puzzle style simply doesn’t align with how we enjoy solving rooms. Combine that with the technical problems and disjointed storyline, and our experience became more frustrating than fun. We were especially disappointed not to reach the ending because we’ve heard it’s the best part! Set design: 100/10. Immersion: 100/10. But for us, the puzzle flow, technical execution, and storyline brought the overall experience down considerably. Sometimes a room can be incredibly impressive and still not be the right fit for your group. Unfortunately, Fall Harvest was one of those rooms for us.

4/10⭐️— What Happens in Vegas… Should Maybe Stay in Vegas! We really wanted to like What Happens in Vegas at Escapopolis, because this room had SO MUCH potential! A Vegas-themed escape room?! There are endless possibilities for creative puzzles, storytelling, and fun interactions. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t deliver for us. Let’s start with the positives. The set design was nice and definitely on theme. We also appreciated the combination of technology and traditional escape-room puzzles. We love when rooms successfully blend the two, and visually, this room had a lot going for it. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much where our praise ends. The room is non-linear, and there was SO MUCH going on across the tables and nightstand that we honestly didn’t know where to start. And while we have played much larger rooms with significantly more puzzles, the issue here wasn’t the amount of space or things to do, it was how everything came together. Some puzzles simply weren’t intuitive, while others required HUGE leaps in logic that didn’t feel natural. The puzzles themselves were just okay, and we didn’t feel they really capitalized on the Vegas theme. Then came the technical frustrations. The motorized toy truck inside the glass container kept shutting off, almost as if the batteries weren’t fully charged. The toilet puzzle felt more like filler than something that contributed meaningfully to the game. And having to sink FIVE balls while racing against the clock?! A bit excessive, in our opinion. To make matters worse, after we FINALLY sank all five, the mechanism that was supposed to open DIDN’T! Come onnnn! There were three of us playing, all experienced escape-room enthusiasts, and we needed a BOATLOAD of hints. At one point, it honestly felt like our GM was just feeding us clues. Not because we weren’t trying or didn’t understand what needed to happen next, but because the puzzle logic and execution kept leaving us stuck. We ultimately did not escape, and unfortunately, we walked away more frustrated than entertained. We’ve played well over 100 escape rooms, and we understand that not every room will align with our preferred puzzle style. This one simply wasn’t our cup of tea. Final Rating: 4/10 Nice set, good potential, and some interesting technology, but the puzzles, technical issues, and overall execution really brought this experience down for us. Everyone has different preferences, and others may absolutely love it. For us, though, What Happens in Vegas was a miss.

10/10 — HIGH-TECH & FULL OF SURPRISES! After completing Mongollon Monster, we also took on Henchmen Heist at Nemesis Club, and once again, they absolutely delivered! I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical going into this one. We normally gravitate toward creepy, scary and horror-themed rooms, so a superhero-style room wouldn’t normally be my first choice. But Henchmen Heist absolutely lived up to the hype. First, the opening storyline and the way you actually get into the room was FANTASTIC! Before we even really started, I remember thinking, Okayyyy…this is about to be GOOD. 😂 It immediately set the tone for the experience—and once we got inside, the room did not disappoint. The technology is incredible and makes the entire game feel like a full-scale production rather than just a collection of puzzles. It’s very high-tech, but I loved that they still incorporated a few nods to traditional, old-school escape-room puzzling. The room is non-linear, with plenty to work on simultaneously, but everything still feels connected to the theme and storyline. We also encountered several puzzle concepts that we’d never experienced before, and when you’ve done as many escape rooms as we have, finding something genuinely new is ALWAYS refreshing. My husband and I tackled this one with just the two of us and escaped with UNDER 3 MINUTES REMAINING! 😩😂 It was literally a RACE TO THE FINISH. I think 3–4 players would probably be the sweet spot for this room because there’s so much happening, but experienced players can absolutely tackle it as a duo—we’re proof! Just be prepared to MOVE. Another thing we loved was the humor. There were several genuinely funny moments throughout the experience, and we LOVE when a room can make us laugh while we’re simultaneously stressing ourselves out trying to solve puzzles. 😂 But there were TWO things that absolutely MADE this room for us. First, that opening sequence. BRILLIANT. It immediately pulled us into the story and made us feel like participants rather than people simply walking into another escape room. And second… 🚨SPOILER ALERT 🚨 STOP READING HERE IF YOU PLAN ON PLAYING! We had to EAT SOMETHING TO PROGRESS THROUGH THE GAME!! 😳😳😳 WHAT?! In all the escape rooms we’ve done, we have NEVER encountered that before. And our GM was NOT playing with us either! 😂 There was no “ehhh, we don’t want to do it, can we move on?” NOPE……EAT. THE. THING. He wasn’t progressing that game until we did it. 😂😂 That moment alone will probably have us talking about Henchmen Heist for YEARS. It’s exactly the type of unexpected interaction that makes an escape room memorable long after you’ve forgotten individual puzzle combinations. END SPOILER 🚨 Overall, Henchmen Heist had everything we want in a great room: an amazing storyline, incredible technology, creative puzzles, surprises we’d never encountered before, humor, great theming and a frantic race to the finish. Nemesis Club has absolutely mastered making their rooms feel like experiences, not just escape games. 10/10 ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!
10/10 — ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. IMMERSION ON ANOTHER LEVEL! Mongolian Monster at Nemesis Club was absolutely AMAZING!! We’ve done A LOT of escape rooms, and the production quality of this room was honestly beyond anything I’ve experienced before. From the moment we entered, it didn’t feel like we had walked onto an escape-room set—it genuinely felt like we had stepped into an actual campsite. The attention to detail was INSANE. The sights, the sounds, the wind, even the SMELLS—they incorporated so many sensory elements that you completely forget you’re standing inside a building in Arizona. The campsite is dimly lit, which only heightens the atmosphere and makes the entire experience feel even more realistic and immersive. And thankfully, the puzzles lived up to the set! There were more than enough puzzles to keep a group of four busy, although there were only two of us playing. We still managed to get through everything with a few nudges in the right direction. The puzzles made sense within the world of the room, stayed on theme and complemented the storyline instead of feeling like random puzzles placed inside an amazing set. The storyline was fantastic, and then came the ENDING. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 NO SPOILERS—but what a way to finish this experience!! The ending took an already incredible room and somehow made it even better. It gave us exactly the kind of payoff we want after being completely immersed in a story for an hour. This is what I want from an escape room: production, atmosphere, storytelling, puzzles, immersion and a memorable finale. Nemesis Club absolutely NAILED IT. 10/10. If you’re an escape-room enthusiast and find yourself anywhere near Phoenix, PUT THIS ONE ON YOUR LIST.

⭐ 100/10 — THIS is How You Do an Escape Room! 🌽🤡 Cornstalkers at The Escape Ventures absolutely OVERDELIVERED. This wasn’t just an escape room—it was an experience from beginning to end. Let’s start with Giggles the Clown. Having a live actor incorporated into the game was GENIUS. We could only see his hands reaching through the wagon window, but his presence and interactions with us throughout the first half of the room added SO much to the experience. He was funny, creepy, unpredictable and constantly had us wondering what was coming next. 😂🤡 The set design was incredibly immersive. Every detail felt like it belonged in this world. There were moments when you almost forgot you were inside an escape room because the environment was THAT convincing. And the PUZZLES!! There are a LOT of them, and they range from challenging to “okay…what are we missing?!” You absolutely need the full 90 minutes. This is not a room where you’re going to run out of things to do. Then add in jump scares—which we LOVE—and moments where the group is forced to split up?! YES!! Anytime an escape room makes us separate, knowing somebody is probably about to experience something the rest of us can’t see, it immediately raises the tension and makes the experience so much better. And THE ENDING!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 No spoilers, but this room deserved a memorable finale, and they gave it one. The ending was exactly the kind of payoff an experience like Cornstalkers needed. We do A LOT of escape rooms, so it takes something special to really surprise us. Cornstalkers did that. Immersive set, tons of puzzles, live interaction, scares, laughter, teamwork, forced separation and a finale worthy of everything that came before it. Final Rating: 100/10 🌽🤡🔐 Cornstalkers didn’t just meet our expectations—it blew past them. I would recommend this room time and time again. If you love immersive escape rooms and don’t mind a little creepiness, PUT THIS ONE ON YOUR LIST.

⭐ 8/10 — A Fun, Physical Mission With Plenty to Do! ❄️🔐 We also completed Operation Arctic Storm at The Escape Ventures, and this was another really solid room! That first room had us in a PICKLE! 😂 We definitely had to work to get ourselves moving, but once we made it out of that section, the rest of the experience became much more intuitive and flowed really well. There are a LOT of puzzles in this room, ranging from fairly easy to genuinely challenging. I would definitely recommend bringing a solid group of 3–4 people, because there is plenty to work on and having multiple brains—and hands—makes a difference. The set design was top tier and really sold the Arctic mission theme. The transitions made sense, the room flowed well, and we always felt like we were progressing further into the mission rather than simply moving from one random puzzle to another. This is also a physical room! Be prepared to crawl, descend and climb your way through parts of the experience. Nothing felt unreasonable for us, but you’re definitely doing more than standing around opening locks—and we enjoyed that! We also LOVED the addition of the live actor. It added another layer to the mission and made the experience feel more interactive and immersive instead of just being four people solving puzzles alone in a room. Overall, Operation Arctic Storm was a really good experience. Lots to do, a nice range of puzzle difficulty, excellent set design, physical elements and a live actor that gave the mission an extra touch. Final Rating: 8/10 ❄️🔐 Definitely recommend this one—especially if you enjoy escape rooms that make you move, communicate and divide and conquer!

⭐ 5/10 — Great Set, Underwhelming Game As experienced escape room players, we really wanted to love The Murder of ’89. The set design was definitely the highlight — the room looked great, the atmosphere was there, and visually it felt like it had the potential to be a really strong experience. Unfortunately, the actual gameplay didn’t quite live up to the set. The puzzles felt a little lackluster and the overall theme/story wasn’t developed enough for us. We kept waiting for that moment where everything would start to come together or the game would really kick into another gear, but it never quite got there. For such an interesting premise, we felt like there was a lot more that could have been done with both the mystery and the puzzles. The ending was definitely different from your traditional escape room. Instead of solving your way to actually escaping, the final objective was to determine who murdered the girl and what weapon they used. If your accusation was correct, you won. We can appreciate them trying something different, but for us, it wasn’t particularly satisfying. This ending felt more like submitting an answer to a murder mystery than escaping a room. Out of all the rooms here, we completed all escape the wizard room, this room is the weakest for sure for us. Overall, the set design did a lot of the heavy lifting here. Visually, it was on point, but the puzzles, story progression, and finale needed more to make the experience memorable. We didn’t hate it, but this one just didn’t give us the puzzle satisfaction or payoff we look for. Final Rating: 5/10 🔐 meh… Great set. Cool concept. Just needed stronger puzzles and a much better payoff.

We had a really good time with The Soul Collector at Captured LV! There were four of us playing, and this room had the perfect amount of puzzles to keep everyone involved. Nobody was standing around waiting for something to do, which is always a huge plus for us. The atmosphere was creepy without taking away from the actual gameplay, and the set design really helped pull us into the theme. Even better, there were a few puzzle mechanics and set elements that we had never encountered before — we do a lot of escape rooms, finding something that feels genuinely new is always refreshing! The room is non-linear, so we were able to split up and work on different things at the same time, but it was still organized enough that we never felt completely lost about what we were supposed to be doing. The puzzles were a great mix of challenging and fun. A few of them really forced us to think outside of our normal puzzle wheelhouse, which we loved. We ended up using 3 clues and still didn’t make it out, if we had just 2 more minute we woulda made it, lol. there were definitely some moments where we had to stop, regroup and look at things from a completely different angle. Overall, The Soul Collector was a solid room — creepy atmosphere, plenty to do, creative puzzles, some unique surprises, and a good level of difficulty for an experienced group. Final Rating: 8/10 🔐👻 Definitely one of those rooms where you walk out talking about a few of the puzzles afterward — and for us, that’s always a good sign!

First let me say that we had high hopes for this room, we’ve done Escapology in Vegas and loved that room. We have a bunch of Escapolgy rooms on our wishlist and decided to start with this one. The puzzles in these 3 rooms require a lot of deducing and leaps. The stained glass puzzle and the skull book case are the worst. We never asked for so many hints in a room….. it was beyond frustrating. We told our game master before we got into the room that if we are going in the wrong direction or focusing on something that we don’t need yet to nudge us on the right direction. She never did….. only telling us how to complete each puzzle when we asked for a hint! We tried to alert her that one of the puzzle pieces broke and she never answered us! It was a chain with an ornament attached but the ornament broke off, make it hard to do the puzzle correctly…. We ended up walking out this room when we could not find the book the game master kept telling us to go to, to solve the last puzzle. We kept trying to get her attention and ask questions but no answer! When we walked out she was surprised, we told her we don’t have and couldn’t find the book she kept telling us to go to. She walked us back to the room and showed us that the lock to the book was hidden under the globe and we failed to see it. She put two minutes back on the clock and basically talked us through the rest of the room for us to get out. At that point we didn’t care, we were frustrated and wanted out. I don’t count this room as a win cause we hated it and our experience. When we voiced our concerns at the end of the room the game master basically said she was the only one there today, she was watching 3 other rooms, and has a trainee shadowing her. She turned off the audio to all the rooms because she can’t focus on all of them at the same time so she wasn’t able to hear us when we were asking about the broken chain, she also said she she wasn’t able to follow us to give us nudges as we asked because she had other rooms to moderate as well. Overall 0/10 experience with the room, service and staff! We left frustrated and defeated even though we got out. I won’t be back to this location but I’ll try other Escapology rooms.
