The Bridge BetweenQuest TavernEscape roomIRLOur team enjoyed The Bridge Between for its unique theme, high volume of puzzles, and surprising ending. Overall, the room was good and could be improved with some slightly better clueing on puzzles and tweaks to gameplay flow. Certain story beats revealed themselves to only part of the group which wasn’t ideal. There is a lot to do in this game so a group of four experienced players would probably be recommended. Mega shoutout to our GM Patrick who gave the performance of a lifetime before, during, and after the game, making us laugh and smile with his infectious positive energy.
Through The Sugar GlassQuest TavernEscape roomIRLFun candy-themed game with cuteness turned up to 11. Great theming and a lot of puzzles. Mega shoutout to our GM Patrick who gave the performance of a lifetime before, during, and after the game, making us laugh and smile with his infectious positive energy.
Wizard's Treasure60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLThis is a great room for two people and is appropriate for all ages. The first part of the room has a good amount of comedy which my friend and I really enjoyed. Beautiful sets and fun puzzles. I understand why people love this room now.
Jewel of the SeaIntrepid Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLJewel of the Sea is a fun pirate game for 2-3 people max. We had four people in our group and blew past the puzzles too quickly that we were left wanting more. Our GM was incredibly enthusiastic and helped set a fun atmosphere. One puzzle in particular ranked above the rest for us and I’d love to try it again.
Mogollon Monster: Scouting for Arizona's BigfootThe Nemesis ClubEscape roomIRLIt’s hard to put into words just how special The Nemesis Club is. Plucked straight out of something you’d find at Disney World, The Nemesis Club is a top-tier escape room that is a must visit for anyone in Phoenix. I can say with confidence that this is one of the best escape room companies in the world. We played all 3 games but the clear standout favorite was the Mogollon Monster Bigfoot game. It might even be in my top 10 of all time. The owners put such whimsy into all their games and even the lobby was perfectly designed. I felt like we’d entered a supervillain speakeasy behind an ice cream shop and I wanted to spend my entire day there. The game itself is fantastic from top to bottom. I even want to replay it because it was truly that good.
Sal's CyberneticsThe Immersive MachineEscape roomIRLSal’s Cybernetics was such a fun game. The cyberpunk theme was beautifully done and I left with a new best friend in Crumbz. The puzzles were unique and Kay was such a welcoming host. A fun little secret: if you visit the immersive Century Grand Bar in town and enter the phone booth and dial CRUMB9, you can get a special message.
40 ThievesMindTrap Escape Room - TemeculaEscape roomIRLRight from the beautiful intro that mixed projection video with real-life environments, I could tell this was a special game. 40 Thieves was so much fun. For our group of three experienced players, we just barely made it out. There is so much to do in this room so larger groups are encouraged.
Winnie The PoohMindTrap Escape Room - MurrietaEscape roomIRLA truly whimsical experience with beautiful, immersive sets. We had so much fun playing this game.
The Tomb: Raiders of the SwordRevo EscapeEscape roomIRLThe Tomb: Raiders of the Sword is the most physically active escape room I've played in North America, but I’m not complaining! I truly felt like I was exploring a cave and having an Indiana Jones-esqe adventure. The sets are beautiful, the puzzles are solid, and very strong teamwork is required to finish. I would definitely play this game again. Be aware, this game is extremely physical. You need to be in decent shape to play this game, and any physical impairments you have will make this room very challenging. Expect to crawl, climb, push with force, and balance. Gardening gloves are required. If you don’t bring any, you will need to buy from them.
The Temple of Lost GoldMaze Rooms - Robertson BlvdEscape roomIRLThis escape room has great bones and impressive sets, but it’s held back by poor lighting and broken tech. While the puzzles were ambitious, many elements didn’t work as intended, forcing our game master to advance us multiple times. It’s clear the room had potential, but it hasn’t been maintained properly. Unless they address these issues, I can’t recommend it. We also had a frustrating experience after the game, when most of the lobby lockers were broken, and the game master couldn’t find the key to unlock ours, so we had to wait about 20 minutes for him to cut it open.
