Wizard's Treasure60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLThis is a great room for two people and is appropriate for all ages. The first part of the room has a good amount of comedy which my friend and I really enjoyed. Beautiful sets and fun puzzles. I understand why people love this room now.
Mogollon Monster: Scouting for Arizona's BigfootThe Nemesis ClubEscape roomIRLIt’s hard to put into words just how special The Nemesis Club is. Plucked straight out of something you’d find at Disney World, The Nemesis Club is a top-tier escape room that is a must visit for anyone in Phoenix. I can say with confidence that this is one of the best escape room companies in the world. We played all 3 games but the clear standout favorite was the Mogollon Monster Bigfoot game. It might even be in my top 10 of all time. The owners put such whimsy into all their games and even the lobby was perfectly designed. I felt like we’d entered a supervillain speakeasy behind an ice cream shop and I wanted to spend my entire day there. The game itself is fantastic from top to bottom. I even want to replay it because it was truly that good.
Sal's CyberneticsThe Immersive MachineEscape roomIRLSal’s Cybernetics was such a fun game. The cyberpunk theme was beautifully done and I left with a new best friend in Crumbz. The puzzles were unique and Kay was such a welcoming host. A fun little secret: if you visit the immersive Century Grand Bar in town and enter the phone booth and dial CRUMB9, you can get a special message.
40 ThievesMindTrap Escape Room - TemeculaEscape roomIRLRight from the beautiful intro that mixed projection video with real-life environments, I could tell this was a special game. 40 Thieves was so much fun. For our group of three experienced players, we just barely made it out. There is so much to do in this room so larger groups are encouraged.
The Tomb: Raiders of the SwordRevo EscapeEscape roomIRLThe Tomb: Raiders of the Sword is the most physically active escape room I've played in North America, but I’m not complaining! I truly felt like I was exploring a cave and having an Indiana Jones-esqe adventure. The sets are beautiful, the puzzles are solid, and very strong teamwork is required to finish. I would definitely play this game again. Be aware, this game is extremely physical. You need to be in decent shape to play this game, and any physical impairments you have will make this room very challenging. Expect to crawl, climb, push with force, and balance. Gardening gloves are required. If you don’t bring any, you will need to buy from them.
Flynn's ArcadeBrain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRLA fantastic new game at brain games. I felt like I was sucked right into the TRON movie.
The Lost ShipwreckCrypto Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe Lost Shipwreck is another outstanding game from Crypto Escapes. Not only do they nail the pirate-themed set design, but their puzzles are m interesting and kept our group of 3 busy the whole way through. One multi-stage puzzle later in the game was a ton of fun for our group to navigate. Our group was smiling throughout. One particular room transition blew our team away. I definitely recommend driving up to Crypto Escapes to play this game to anyone in the Toronto area.
The AlchemistSherlockedEscape roomIRLWow, wow, wow. The Alchemist is one of the world’s most creatively breathtaking escape rooms. Take my word for it: I’ve played over 200 games. If you are in Amsterdam and enjoy a challenge, beautiful sets, and immersive experience, The Alchemist is a must play. I would love to experience it again just to see the finale scene (which I won’t spoil for you here). The team at Sherlock has outdone themselves. I played all of their games while I was in town and The Alchemist stands far above the other two games, though I hear they are refurbishing the other two games soon.
InksidiousEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLInksidious is definitely the standout game at Escape Room 66, offering a whimsical and immersive experience with stunning set design and a creative theme. The room, while small in size, packs a large number of puzzles to keep you busy. Our game master, Tuesday, was incredibly welcoming. She’s also the owner, so it was great getting to chat with her about the escape room and what she has planned for the future. For difficulty, this room is best suited for two experienced players or a group of three to four with mixed experience levels. I played with one experienced and one inexperienced player, and we needed hints to make it out in time. A heads-up for colorblind players—there are quite a few puzzles that rely on color, which you won’t be able to contribute to depending on your level of colorblindess. Having also played The Mush Room at Escape Room 66, I can easily say that Insidious is their best game to date.
Wild Heart RanchWild Heart RanchEscape roomIRLA truly whimsical experience. To be able to roam a 40-acre property to solve puzzles and explore a family’s story was an out of this world experience. Not to mention, the Airbnb itself is wonderfully decorated with great amenities.
