We even tried blocking the sunlight to see clearer. - One puzzle’s clue tells you to start from one direction, while the game guide tells you to start from the opposite direction.

So we had answers but just didn’t know what it applied to yet. - Puzzles that make you think outside of the box. As experienced players (100+ games), we were very confused. We had like 5 in our group and they solved most of it with their little experience. - Physically impossible with 2. It’s good to bring lots of people because sometimes you just need a different perspective. - Personally did not blow my mind, but refreshing to see new types of puzzles. Cool tech aspects.

Putting items in the correct spot wasn’t enough. - one puzzle there has multiple parts/doors to it. - must’ve used at least 40 clues for our party of 2. - be extra vigilant and observe everything first, before trying to solve any puzzles. - the owners are super cool and very accommodating.
13th BasementExit Game OC - AnaheimEscape roomIRL- They let us have a sneak peak of the room before booking, to see if it was tolerable for a scaredy cat like me. - Prices are super affordable, room is easily doable with 2 experienced people, the set design is outstanding, and the owners are the best. - 2/10 scary. If you lock in to your game, you’ll forget to be scared.
The Secret Experiment [The Secret]MPowerEscape roomIRL- great experience for 2 experienced players. You will only need a 3rd person for 10 seconds and your game guide can come in to assist. - the room was very modern and well crafted. The cover photo makes it seem like “it’s a secret society” theme but it’s just about finding why a scientist went missing. - room was so good. We booked another one right after. - the owners are very passionate! Great conversations!

So if you’re doing The Alchemist, only touch the things that say The Alchemist on it. - if you play at least one of their games then you’ll understand the way it’s supposed to be played. It’s easier to experience than to hear it explained to you. - great owner and customer service. Pretty casual at this establishment. - if you’d like a more traditional escape room, try The Simples at their location.

So if you are playing The Witch, only touch things with the The Witch banner. Untraditional escape rooms - great owner. Very friendly customer service. Pretty casual.
A Christmas StoryOscar’s PlaygroundEscape roomIRL- finished with 20 mins left. Done almost 100 Escape rooms. Great for beginners. - the room is inside of an arcade. The main door is out in the open of the arcade. When entering the room, there is no roof so you can hear the other rooms around you. - it seemed like some things were manually overridden after accomplishing puzzles since it’d be late to activate. - great customer service and excited to play all of the ones they have with the brand

Escape from the Blue RoomReal Escape Game IkebukuroEscape roomIRL- Room is not private. I paid $150 USD total to make it private for me and my partner. - Employees said they cater to Japanese guests first but they can guide us/ translate if we reserved the whole room. - The room literally is not in the Japanese language at all. They have more English aspects. It’s more just using your eyes to see and brain to put it together. They did an intro with a paper in English explaining the rules. - Our guide was in the room with us 95% of the time.
