The company is a well-oiled machine and this one fits a similar feel to other rooms. I like Mystery Ops, Depths, Prison Break, and Playground more. This one could use an extension as many people finish early. I hated the fact we still had 20 minutes left and that seems to be pretty common based on the comments I read. Could definitely extend the room and theme.

The Flying ChameleonPort Austin AdventuresEscape roomIRLWould highly recommend this room to anyone in the area. It’s a solid first generation, non-linear escape room. The plot is a little bit of a stretch, but there are elements in the room that make it fun and engaging. The music is great too. We had a group of 5 experienced members and we had a really fun time in this room. The game master made it extra special. It’s fairly intuitive. No major surprises.
The DwellingMichigan Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis room is very spacious and has so much potential. However, I felt like my team of 5 escapists felt more frustrated than wow-ed. The room definitely has a lot of potential and was probably very good a few years ago but now it just feels old, unclean, and the locks don’t seem updated. I ranked this a dislike not because it’s inherently bad, it’s just not an escape room that I would recommend to a friend in Michigan. There are other better ones in the area.
Jurassic LaboratoriesMichigan Escape GamesEscape roomIRLI always hate writing a bad review, especially cause I want every escape room company to do well (especially the ones in Michigan)! However, this was possibly the worst escape room I’ve ever done. For a group of five, usually only 1 to 2 people could be doing a thing at a time. Often times there was no indication of what to do next until an audio would come over the screen and tell you what to do. As a group of five that have done several escape rooms (80-100+) and set several records at various escape rooms, all we could feel was frustration, and we could not even escape the “hard mode” of this room (we later found out that only 2 groups had ever escaped hard mode). This shows a poor design of an escape room. Additionally, there were several locks in this room that weren’t even used. The room had only been open since last year and it was hard to read the black light cause it was so faded and not maintained. One puzzle required the game master to confirm answers for each clue - which is just another example of poor design. Try the Dwelling here if you must or just save your money and go to Ideal Escape or Adventure Mode.
Mind ShaftIdeal Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis escape room is perfect for a group of four. It involves some mechanical elements that are very exciting. I can definitely remember two puzzles that were very innovative and we had to think outside the box. I would definitely recommend this room to experienced escapists who want a fun challenge. It’s one of the better designed rooms in Michigan. Only improvement I would recommend is the ceiling for the set design being fixed. We loved our GM!!

Very important to read all the document thoroughly. You might have to think and make some larger assumptions to conclusions. Not only must you escape, but you have to solve two other mysteries to present to them at the end. Locks are a little old. Real fire used. Only 2 free hints allowed.
HostageBreakout® Escape Rooms - KoramangalaEscape roomIRLMulti room. The set was kind of fun. The reason this is a dislike is because a lot of the clues are extremely difficult and require a lot of mental jobs. Additionally, the black light stuff to read are very difficult and easily missed. Some of the locks are difficult and old. There’s especially one mental leap that you have to make of how to catch the criminal and it doesn’t really make sense.

I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners. I feel like this is the type of room that I will be thinking about for years. I love when I feel like I’m inside of a movie or plot.

I wouldn’t recommend making this one of your stops in Montreal since there are better in the area. This one is better than chaos in wonderland in terms of set but we had more technical difficulties.
Opus MemoriEzkapazEscape roomIRLThis room is impressive for what it can do in such a small space! It can be linear, the puzzles seem intuitive, but also fun and exciting. Unique aspects to this room! Best room I have done with this specific theme. Wouldn’t recommend more than a group of 4.
Le Dernier Arrêt - V2 [The Final Stop - V2]Escaparium - LavalEscape roomIRLCaution: motion sickness! (Spoiler at very end regarding sickness) Probably had some of my more favorite puzzles at Escaparium. In other rooms, you may have to rely more on live actor to solve puzzles. In this room, they are really only there for the story. I felt like our group solved more puzzles on our own and I found that to be more fun! I liked this plot a lot and I think it’s exciting when you figure it out towards the end. Spoiler that you should talk to your GM about motion sickness with screens before starting the room. The very beginning has a lot of screens.
La Cathédrale Oubliée [The Forgotten Cathedral]Escaparium - LavalEscape roomIRLI HATE SCARY ROOMS But. This one was fun! It feels more spooky and mystical with like elements of demons. You don’t have to worry about too many jump, scares or loud noises. The set is very fun and I really like the intro. It feels slightly more believable than other demon or ghost like rooms I played before.
Armoire à Vendre [Wardrobe for Sale]Escaparium - LavalEscape roomIRLNot my favorite Escaparium room — but anything less than a love for Escaparium would be wild. The amount of detail and attention they put into crafting their set and stories is incredible. I wasn’t a particular fan of this room because it was very linear and focused more on the narrative and storytelling than the puzzles. I felt like there was way too much talking and acting, and I only ended up doing about 3 puzzles total in an hour and a half. Most of the time the guide tells you what to do.

Compared to other games in the area, the set feels weaker, but place this escape room anywhere else in the world and it would be an immediate top room.
Ctrl Alt RebootEscaparium - LavalEscape roomIRLCAPTIVATING set. Gameplay is weaker, but the story is SOOO fun. If you are doing a bunch of games at Escaparium, use this to be the one when you are the most tired. Maybe make it your last game of the day? It requires probably the least brain power since your GM guide you throughout most of the story. It’s definitely more linear. However, the set design blows a lot of the other sets away. They definitely spent a lot of money on it and it will just wow you from start to finish.
