The Graverobber's DilemmaEscape Room HerndonEscape roomIRLNice looking set with some cool reveals. Puzzles made sense and flowed well.
The DepthsThe Escape Game - Penn QuarterEscape roomIRLReally well done. The set is really nice and I thought the puzzles were really interactive and flowed well. Cool and fun room!
The Mad Scientist [prev. The Laboratory]Brain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRLDifferent take on an escape room. Played a few years ago but you basically chose your difficulty level which determined how many puzzles you were doing and the puzzles were like separate stations. The flow was displayed on the wall to show the order to do the puzzles. A few interesting puzzles I don't see often. Location not ideal/ not the safest feeling.
Wizard’s TowerMystique Escape RoomEscape roomIRLCool atmosphere and some cool puzzles. There were some issues we had just because we didn't see certain things or thought an item didn't need to be used anymore.
Jungle Gem - CLOSEDBreakout Games - Tampa [prev. Imagine Escape Games]Escape roomIRLNo longer exists but I liked the two different styles sets you go through in this game. Puzzles were ok but nothing really new
Drago's Castle5 Wits - ArlingtonEscape roomOther Really fun! I love 5 wits. Out of the 3 at this location this might be my least fave but I still enjoyed it.
UFO Crash Landing - CLOSEDMission Escape Rooms - AnnapolisEscape roomIRLPlayed a while ago and it's closed now but I didn't like it and don't entirely remember why. I think some of the puzzles were difficult for no reason/it was hard to figure out what to do next.
The Carnival Heist - CLOSEDClue Carré - New OrleansEscape roomIRLSplit start is fun. The puzzles were ok for the most part but it was easy, we broke the record in about 25 minutes. The floorboards are coming up in the main room and the room could use maintenance (I know it's an older location though). Watch out when you play, there's a chance you might get hit by things releasing suddenly lol kind of scary. Was also given a hint without asking.
Murder MysteryExit Strategy - SouthEscape roomIRLGame masters are actors and in character which is fun. Clue giving is thematic as well. However the puzzles in this room went against all typical escape room logic and rules and I think that needed to be emphasized in the intro. Didn't discover multiple things on our own because we thought we weren't allowed to do certain things. Some puzzles felt illogical. Really makes you feel frustrated.
Cutthroat Cavern13th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLWow factor for sure! This was the first out of 5 games I played at 13th Gate and it remained my favorite. Multiple reveals that made us gasp! Unique puzzles.
Hide + SeekThe Escape WarehouseEscape roomIRLAmazing! Great atmosphere and set design. Felt so immersive. Puzzles flowed well. Definitely recommend.
Unidentified: The Case of Mystery Gates Theme Park - CLOSEDThe Escape WarehouseEscape roomIRLReally fun start. I think the first half is immersive but the second half felt not cohesive/the set design seemed lackluster. Fun surprises. Something was misreset in our room so we skipped one puzzle.
Spellbound13th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLBeautiful atmosphere. I think the puzzles were not my favorite mainly based on the flow. Nothing was too confusing though and it had a nice surprise.
Tomb Of Anubis13th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLLike others have said, should be a 90 minute game. Our group is experienced and this was the only game out of 6 at this location that we did not get out of. Had about 3 puzzles remaining. Atmosphere/set is well done but they really need to fix the games relying on iPads. QR codes for clues ruin immersion and messed up our flow. And not all of their games do this so it feels random. This game relies heavily on a journal to explain each puzzle which is also not my fave.
The Disappearance of Flight 1313th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLSuper cool and immersive set. Not as big as some of the other games here but it made sense for the theme. A few areas are cramped because of this with only 2-3 people able to fit into certain spaces at a time. But the set was wow factor for sure with an interesting ending!
Origins - CLOSEDGet OutEscape roomIRLPlayed this game a while ago and have now learned the location closed. I thought the set was really well done and am sad I won't be able to do the other games because I know they were connected.
Death Row13th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLSome frustrating puzzles and some that didn't make sense as to why they would be that way. More physical than some of the other games. This is one of the ones where you use an ipad and QR codes for clues which ruins immersion. But when we played we didn't even get an ipad because the other game that needed it "had priority". There was an item in the room that allowed us to bypass a puzzle so we had to go back and redo something the correct way (should probably remove said item). The set design was nice but lackluster compared to the other games here.
TH3 C0D3 - CLOSEDEscapology - OrlandoEscape roomIRLI think this room was a cool concept. I liked the hacker elements to it and there were a couple interesting puzzles.
Budapest ExpressEscapology - FairfaxEscape roomIRLEscapology is notorious for too much paper and too much reading. Sets always look nice. The ending/solution in this game didn't feel like an escape room ending. Not a great way to explain without spoiling but wasn't left feeling satisfied.
Train RobberyCyber Raccoon Escape RoomEscape roomIRLReally fun experience. Loved the set and the puzzles. Sad that they never ended up opening a second game!
