The Winery InfiltrationSurf City EscapesEscape roomIRLWine a little, laugh A LOT! This room had us on Cloud Wine with how interactive, fun, and engaging it was. The Game Master made it even more interactive which left us belly-laughing during the game. The concept was very creative and everything flowed really well with one another. Just a heads up that there is a “live actor” but it’s not meant to scare you, more so for laughs and giggles. The live actor concept made sense with the gameplay and blended well with the idea of a “winery heist.” This room is a lil bit smaller so I would recommend a team of 4 players, no more than 6 as it can get crowded. There was a variety of fun surprises and neat technical features. This is a family friendly room and you can tell that a lot of effort and creativity went into this room. Stop on by and play Winery Infiltration when you have a chance! It Vine and dandy! 🍇
Surf's UpSurf City EscapesEscape roomIRLAre you ready to make some Waves? Because this room was absolutely GNARLY! Everything about this escape room was beautifully crafted with its creative puzzles, magical reveals, immersive storytelling, and sense of humor, while all staying true to the spirit of surfing. From beginning to end, we truly enjoyed learning about the sport while also creating memories through interactive game play, thoughtful transitions, and realistic props. You can tell that a lot of love, effort, and passion went into this room, and I’m truly looking forward to returning to play their other rooms here. It will Shore-ly pull you into the Tide, wanting more. Catch the next Wave and go play Surf’s Up!!
Hope EndThe Ministry Of PeculiaritiesEscape roomIRLI’m so grateful that I saved Hope End for my 100th Escape Room because it was such a memorable, golden experience. This room truly deserves all of the awards! From the moment you walk in, you are engaged in the storytelling and narrative of Hope End. The suspense, the curiosity, the lore. The amount of attention to details, interactions with live actors, utilization of space, and satisfying reveals made this room very mysterious, engaging, and fun. You can tell that a lot of attention and passion went into this escape room for how well-thought-out everything was. Hope End was an engaging theatrical escape-room experience! It was story driven with some twists and turns, interactive gameplay, and live actors. Can’t get any better than that!
The DepthsThe Escape Game - OrangeEscape roomIRLWe were making Waves and going down Deep! Are you ready to be Submerged? This escape room was very engaging and a lot of fun. There were a variety of nonlinear puzzles which were very unique and creative. The puzzles themselves made sense and flowed very smoothly with one another. We played with a team of 6 which was a good amount. I would recommend a minimum of 4 players because there were a multitude of puzzles and sometimes it does require multiple Thinkers and minds to complete a puzzle, but enough for all of us to engage in the gameplay equally. Overall, The Depths was creative, interactive, and engaging. We had a mixture of Beginner-Intermediate Skilled Players, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling, immersion, and gameplay.
DraculaNerd EscapesEscape roomIRLThis escape room was Okay. There wasn’t anything particularly special, but still overall enjoyable for what it was. I loved the set design the most because of its immersion and artistry. I would recommend a team of 2-4 players. This room is played in a linear format but requires some teamwork and abstract thinking. With 2 players, we were stuck at certain points as we felt that some of the puzzles involved assumptions or ambiguity. For its theming, they Nailed it with the props, costumes, and set design. I just wish certain parts of the storytelling was longer and that the puzzles were more specific.
Tattoo Trials: Rising Ranks [prev. Hidden Needle Tattoo Parlor]The Escape Ventures - Wilmington [prev. The Exit Games]Escape roomIRLThis room was absolutely Ink-credible! I cannot say enough about this room. You can tell that a lot of work, intentionality, and effort went into this room. What I appreciated was the complexity of puzzles, the props and set design, and the creativity that went into this escape room. With the theming, everything made sense and flowed really well while also blending bits of humor and storytelling. We played with a team of 2, but I would recommend 4-6 players because some of the puzzles were pretty complex and teaches you to think more creatively as everything wasn’t just Black and White. This room gets Stuck On You even after you escape room. Lol. Therefore, I would HIGHLY recommend this room! You will not be disappointed.
The Magic CottageInfinity EscapeEscape roomIRLThis escape room was absolutely Magical, whimsical, and Spell-bounding! We had such a fun time in this room and you could tell that a lot of time and attention was given to this room. I would highly recommend a team of 4-5 players for this room as the puzzles are a mixture of beginning-advanced complexities, also due to the space. There was a lot that was needed to complete this escape room. My team and I made some Magical moments full of laughs, curiosity, and Chemistry lol. I would recommend this room if you’re interested in fantasy theme full of linear puzzles, storytelling, and immersion.
The Tipsy TailorIntrepid Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis escape room was Tailored really well to the theming and overall aspects of gameplay, puzzles, story, and set design. Everything was Stitched together beautifully. I cannot say enough about this room!! This room takes place during the prohibition era and the set design was incredible! Very immersive and I enjoyed how intricate and creative everything was. (fake alcohol, secret compartments, etc). Even the background music was relevant to the era! We played with a team of 4 and we were able to complete the escape room with about 5 minutes left. I would recommend a team of 4-5 players so that every player can engage with the puzzles and work as a team. The space is a lil smaller for teams more than 5, but we were still able to solve puzzles comfortably. This room is friendly and playful, more complex and surprising puzzles. Some that I’ve never seen before which is creative! I would highly recommend this game! I played it for my birthday and we still talk about it to this day lol.
Siren's CoveEscape Hour Point RustonEscape roomIRL“X” marks the spot, and this escape room does exactly that! My family and I played this room for my 27th birthday and it truly impressed me! I would highly recommend a team of 4+ because this room was expansive, very intricately, creatively designed, and immersive. From the moment you walk in to the moment you escape, you were Submerged in the storytelling and swashbuckling adventure. This is a nonlinear escape room so it allows you to divide and conquer but also collaborate together. Everything made sense and was very smooth so there weren’t any red herrings, and you can tell that a lot of dedication and time went into creating this escape room. If you’re in the area, this is a MUST-PLAY! It is truly a Hit, and you will NOT be disappointed.
The StorykeeperLocurioEscape roomIRLWhat an immersive escape room! What this room does well is its gameplay, storytelling, hint system, non-linear puzzles, and use of storybook characters. We had such a great time in this escape room! We played with a team of 2, and it was difficult for how many puzzles there were to complete. A lot of the puzzles required teamwork and collaboration, so I would recommend a team of 4 or more. Overall, this was one of Washington state’s best escape rooms thus far! It’s beautifully crafted with storytelling and immersion, and I’m looking forward to playing their other rooms.
AloneCloud EscapeEscape roomIRLThis wasn’t a bad escape room to play. I will say though that this is not your typical escape room as it is more story-driven and focuses primarily on the storytelling piece. The story itself was pretty solid and made sense, and you wanted to know what happened next. There were some slow moments, but this room has some strong potential. There were quite a variety of puzzles to complete, but you really have to pay attention to detail. I would recommend a team of 2-4 players due to the physical space and the variety of puzzles. Overall, this was a pretty good escape room. Not necessarily my favorite one here, but definitely not the worst. It was a good experience!
Black DragonEscape Room LAEscape roomIRLThe Black Dragon was quite an impressive room! It delivers in storyline, set design, immersion, and game play. We had a group of 4, and it was pretty challenging yet fun! I would recommend a team of 4-6 players with different skill levels because this room was physically large and was non-linear, so you could easily divide and conquer. The is one of LA’s oldest escape rooms, so this room is also pretty old, however; it delivered in its set design, storytelling, and immersion. Go play Black Dragon! You will not be disappointed
Meow! I'm a Cat.Exit Game OC - AnaheimEscape roomIRLThis room deserves a round of A-Paws!! 👏🏼 Meow! I’m a Cat, is so interactive, fun, family-friendly, and engaging. I cannot say enough about this room! This is the perfect introduction room for beginners who are still new to the escape room industry, but also for enthusiasts. Even though it is labeled as “easy,” an Escape Room Enthusiast will still love this room for its cute and creative concept and theming, the various puzzles, and the silliness of the tasks at hand. But you will appreciate the life of a cat much more after this room and the playfulness of it. The set design was immaculate yet simple, and everything made sense. I would recommend a team of 3-4 players due to the space and game play. If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly room, go play this room. Play it MEOW! You’ll have a Paw-sitive experience!
City with No SunNerd EscapesEscape roomIRLCan you bring the sun back? Now’s your time to be Enlightened! This escape room was such a solid, interactive room! Beware, this room is COMPLETELY pitch black as it is teaching you to rely on your other senses. What this room does well is its simplicity of puzzles but the challenge it entails due to no light and hindering your sight. The gameplay was interactive, puzzles flowed well with one another, and communication with your team is KEY! If you’re looking for a challenge, go play City with No Sun! You will not be disappointed.
Principal's OfficeEscape Room Era - AnaheimEscape roomIRLThis room was very engaging and kid-friendly. It was a little cheesy but that’s what made it so much fun! There was a smooth flow of puzzles and game play, and the set design was immersive. I enjoyed the interactions with the pieces and set design. This room is unique for how much you were able to do in such a small room. This is a puzzle heavy room, but it’s linear. Overall, had a great time in this room! But I would say it’s also the interactions and engagement from your fellow team members and your Game Master that makes the room even better!
Sev3nNo. 1 Escapes - Main StEscape roomIRLThis was such a solid, interactive, and engaging escape room! I would highly recommend this room to Enthusiasts because of the complexities and amount of puzzles, the immersion, and the set design. I’ve played Sev3n before when it was originally at Deceptive Games, and the puzzles at No. 1 Escapes are completely new! The owner David does a strong job at creating new puzzles, relating them back to the 7 deadly sins, and the complexities and uniqueness while telling a story. This was by far my favorite escape room at this company because of its game play, immersion, and puzzles! My boyfriend and I played as a team of 2, and we were able to finish and escape, but this was by far the most puzzle heavy out of the other rooms that I’ve played here at No. 1 Escapes. I would recommend 2 advanced skilled players, or 3-4 beginners for this room due to the amount of puzzles needed to be solved. Overall, we really enjoyed this room! I cannot recommend it enough. David the owner truly loves what he does and you can tell how much investment and dedication went into this room. GO PLAY SEV3N!!
Revenge on the Bayou - CLOSEDClue Carré - New OrleansEscape roomIRLWe had a great time with this escape room! From the set design, the storyline, and the complex mixture of puzzles, we had to really communicate, look at the finer details, and practice our teamwork skills. This is a puzzle heavy room with different moving parts to it, and it’s a great escape room for medium to advanced skills. What I loved best about this escape room was its set design because it truly immerses you into the story of The Revenge on the Bayou, and is relevant to its theming from New Orleans (voodoo, eeriness, and mystery). Overall, a very interactive and puzzle heavy room! Ideally, 2-3 experienced players, 4+ for first timers/medium skilled due to the complexity of puzzles and moving pieces needed to solve the room.
The Voodoo CemeteryClue Carré - New OrleansEscape roomIRLThis escape room was very solid and would highly recommend! Definitely one of my favorites at Clue Carré. We played as a team of 2, and it was very interactive and engaging. What I liked most about this escape room was the set design, the immersion, and the storyline. Everything flowed really well and made sense. There weren’t any red herrings, and it was a very solid game play. I enjoyed the New Orleans theming (voodoo, offerings, decoder, etc) especially! Overall, this was one of the best escape rooms at Clue Carré. It was a puzzle heavy room, but a great mixture of lock-and-key, high tech, and uniqueness to it.
Trapped in Slime: Escape the Slime LabPuzzle Workshop by UNLOCKEDEscape roomIRLThis was a family-friendly, fun escape room. The theming is about “slime” and it had some easy science-y related aspects to it as well. What I enjoyed most about this escape room was its storyline and set design. The storyline was unique and thorough, and the set design was great! From the props and interactive pieces, we were so impressed that we tried not to get distracted haha. I would recommend this room for 2-3 players due to the space and to allow all players to interact with each other. This room isn’t puzzle heavy in my opinion, but you do have to look at the finer details. Overall, it was a fun room! Each player was able to engage, work together, and marvel at the props and set design. It wasn’t necessarily one of my favorites, but definitely one that you can enjoy with others.
Battleship - The Pirate EditionNo. 1 Escapes - Sky ParkEscape roomIRLI really enjoyed this escape room because of the number of puzzles, the theming, and the set design. Be aware though that this isn’t your typical escape room where you solve puzzles and escape as a team. This is a live interactive game of Battleship and escape room puzzles where you have to solve puzzles for more materials to shoot at your opponent’s ships. I’ve played this game before when it was owned by Deceptive Games, and No. 1 Escapes still does a great job at using the same puzzles but in a different format and its delivery. I didn’t even get to finish all of the puzzles and there were some new puzzles that were added as well. We were having such an enjoyable time that we didn’t even realize that the 60 minutes was up already! Very interactive, competitive, and fun!
