ArbrevilleDe Gouden KooiEscape roomIRLA wonderful experience, and such a fun introduction. A lot of attention to detail was used in creating the word of Arbreville, and it was quite beautiful. The puzzles were in theme and a lot of fun as well. We had a small audio issue that they said was due to the heat wave, but it didn’t distract too much from the narrative.
Zone 51 [Area 51]Live CinemaEscape roomIRLThis was an amazing experience, and I loved every minute. The acting was amazing, the decorations were very realistic, and there were some pretty cool effects. But as it says in the email confirmation, "Live Cinema is not an escape game, but a story room!!!" Most of the game is accompanied by an actor, and a lot of the action is carrying out tasks that instructed by him or her. There is a small portion of the experience where you can puzzle, but if you love puzzle games, make sure you go into this experience knowing that. Although this is not normally my type of game, I still loved it, and I can appreciate the experience. I also love that the debrief at the end includes a full behind the scenes info session, Q and A, etc. It was so cool to see all the details that have gone into it.
VanishedEscape From St. LouisEscape roomIRLThis is my favourite of their rooms. There was a really nice story and some choice as well, as to how it progresses. (I had to play solo due to traveling alone, but I would have loved to see how one story piece would have played out.. iykyk.) There was a good variety of puzzles, some nice effects, including audio and video.
Carnival of the CosmosEscape From St. LouisEscape roomIRLThe thing that made this room nice was the twist in the story. This also made the last puzzle a lot of fun. The decoration is ok, and the use of some traditional carnival games is a nice touch. There is a little repetition in types of puzzles, and a couple needed leaps in thought (without spoilers, you know you need these outputs, but how should they go together?).
Search For SasquatchBoxed In Escape Rooms - FestusEscape roomIRLThis was my favourite room at this location (of the four that I played). Really nice decoration, which gave it an authentic feel. I like the variety of puzzles (including one that I have only seen in a couple other places, which is always nice!). As with all of their rooms, they did a great job of accommodating me as a solo player (I was traveling alone).
90s NostalgiaBoxed In Escape Rooms - FestusEscape roomIRLFor anyone who lived in the 90s, this room is a must. So much fun and nostalgia (hence the name). Once I read the description of the room, I knew I would like this room. There are lots of references to the 90s, and having knowledge of the 90s makes some of the puzzles easier, but there is information given within the rooms that makes the puzzles possible for youngsters as well. I really wanted to give this a heart, but a few of the puzzles were stretches for me and distracted from the flow. But it is still a lovely experience and recommended.
Lost SoulsBoxed In Escape Rooms - FestusEscape roomIRLThis was a great experience. There was a nice story, beautifully decorated, and some neat effects as well. A couple puzzles were a stretch for me (even after the explanation I could have seen it a different way), but that did not distract from the overall experience. I love a spooky room (but of course this room is in no way a horror experience).
Rise Of The IcarusCU Adventures in Time and SpaceEscape roomIRLThis was probably my favourite game at CU Adventures. I am not usually a fan of spaceship rooms, but this one was done very well. I like that many of the puzzles did not rely on language, which you would expect in an alien spaceship. The finale was a lot of fun (and challenging for a solo player).
Mafia HeistMind Trap Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis experience was beautifully made and huge. As you progress through the story, you experience many different environments, and I always find that fun. The puzzles overall were great, but a few were a stretch for me. I also wished the final room (which was beautiful!) could have had a few more puzzles to utilise the space. Overall, a great room and worth the trip!
Cheesie's Pizza Party60 to Escape - SchaumburgEscape roomIRLSuch cool vibes and animatronics. I also liked the story and that you could make some choices in the story flow. For me, the puzzles were ok, but too much searching. If you don’t mind search puzzles, definitely do this one!

For me, the gameplay flowed, and the puzzles made sense, with a nice variety. There were some really well-made mechanics, and the decoration of the room was of very high quality.
Jurassic Outpost60 to Escape - SchaumburgEscape roomIRLJurassic themed rooms can often have simple story lines, but I loved that this one gave you a choice in how the story progressed. There was a lot to do in the space provided, but I think they used the space really well. I will always not be a fan of "get the machine running" manuals (press this, turn this, etc.), but that is just my preference. Overall a really fun and challenging game.
Behind The CurtainTwisted Limits Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis was a really fun game with a variety of puzzles and quite a bit of searching. As an enthusiast, I had to forget some of the things I know, such as not reaching high, but I got there eventually. It is the most physical game (I was sweating a little by the end, although I did play it alone).

It is a theme you do not see very often, it was very nicely built/decorated, and the puzzles flowed really well for me. I also felt this one did a really good job of integrating the puzzles into the theme.
City ReserveCity Limits Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis was my least favourite of the four at City Limits - this is mainly due to very low lighting and heavy searching. But overall, it was a nice experience.
Mystery Manor60 to Escape - SchaumburgEscape roomIRLI really liked the story in this game, and how it was woven throughout the puzzles. There was also some nice humour thrown in. For me, the puzzles were too easy - I can see how this would be great for a beginners group.
KatrinaElements Escape Rooms [prev. Kenopsia Games]Escape roomIRLThis room had such a lovely start! Without spoilers, I almost want to replay when I know a different GM is working to see how it could be done differently. I immediately got into the story, and the narrative comes back throughout as well (and with acting). Nicely done! For the most part, the decorations and environment were beautiful! One specific moment I verbally was in awe. But there were a few places where you could see wires and doors that took me out of the experience only briefly, so that was a shame. And some things were broken when we were there, but I hope it was just unlucky from the group before us. The puzzles were a lot of fun, and most were integrated very well into the story. There was one frustrating communication puzzle during loud audio, but perhaps this would be less frustrating with more than 2 players. Despite a few minor flaws, this is definitely a must play if you are in the area. A top experience that I really enjoyed.
