The owners used to own a Chinese restaurant so the design was very authentic. Pro: - there’s a lot of puzzles to work through which made it a lot of fun, suitable for 3-4 people to go. We went with 7 people which felt like too much, there was some crowding and a couple people were standing around at times without something to do - puzzles weren’t too hard, good for more beginner players as the dots were easy to connect Cons: - there’s was one puzzle that was very time consuming which I personally am not a fan of - the props were pretty dated, you could see visible wear and tear on some of the items used
Dead Man's CoveEscape Hour AustinEscape roomIRLThis is a very good beginner escape room. All the puzzles needed to connect some dots and were fairly straight forward without directly giving you the answer. For any more beginner players, this would be a good one to get your toes wet and get used to the logic of escape rooms in general. The theme was very fun and the games inside were entertaining!
Midnight In Hong Kong - Team Vs TeamOmescape - SunnyvaleEscape roomIRLThe team vs team aspect of the game is very novel, I’m a very competitive person so it was really fun for me to see how we were doing and be able to see the progress on the other team as well, even though we didn’t cross paths and were working on different puzzles. The puzzles themselves were not super hard (we were able to get through with only one hint, but only because we couldn’t find one specific mechanism) but very on theme. For teams, for 90% of the time we were solving the same puzzles but differently themed so it made the competition very fair. However the other team had trouble with one of the unique puzzles given the color of things was not clear which made it harder for them, hope they fix that and make the colors more distinct The story is also easy to follow and flows well with the puzzles which I appreciate given a lot of other escape rooms only make a theme to follow rather than a story
The CryptEscape Hour AustinEscape roomIRLFairly immersive room and a lot going on, so good to do with three or more people. The puzzles themselves weren’t very hard, but the hard part is the number of puzzles to piece together. Highly recommend!
Lunar MissionMaze Rooms - VermontEscape roomIRLThis room had a lot of potential and I could see it becoming a “love” for me if they refreshed the room. The theme and story made sense but was not really that special, I feel like some of the puzzles were pretty fun and wasn’t the classic lock-and-key puzzles, they were creative and the non-linearness of the room stood out but was very worn down Some key issues with the room: 1. A crucial piece of the puzzle in the first room was missing and we could not figure out why we couldn’t solve the puzzle, we called the GM for a good couple minutes asking for a hint but they were not paying attention / not in the GM room so were not responding and we were even contemplating to call the location with our phones to see what was going on. Turns out they didn’t reset the room properly and didn’t place the piece of the puzzle needed back in the room 2. A lot of the puzzles were very worn down and falling apart 3. One room was very dimly lit we could not read the puzzle properly and took us a bit more time than we wanted bc of the visibility issue. At least adding in some blue light or glow in the dark would help
Men In Suits (MIS)Maze Rooms - LAXEscape roomIRLTheme for this room is amazing and very fun. The puzzles were also great and innovative, requiring non-traditional methods to solve them. However some feedback is the one of the rooms was unnecessarily loud, and small parts of the last room were not that intuitive
Escape: The Upside DownExtraordinary EscapesEscape roomIRLTLDR: Design and story were great, but the room relied heavily on physically finding pieces of the puzzle and mechanical components which made the room seem tedious and long Pros: The set design was really good and immersive, and the component where the group needed to split up and work together was very nice although knowing it before booking would have been helpful. The story also was very fitting of the theme Cons: The puzzle themselves weren’t super hard but there were just so many of them that went in sequential order, it felt like the sheer number of puzzles was the hard part. General remarks (not pro or con): this room relies extremely heavily on mechanical locks, I think almost all the solutions was using a key or code to open a lock. Additionally, the attention to detail is extremely important, all the puzzles we got stuck on involved us not finding a key/part of the puzzle rather than it being hard to piece the solution together or figuring it out

Escape from The Runaway TrainTokyo Mystery CircusEscape roomIRLDo not recommend this escape room. This is more like a series of puzzles in 9 different rooms. All the puzzles were extremely easy until the final room which gives a 10 min time limit separate from the overall time. The experience allows for multiple groups to play at once some it is a series of rooms however if you complete the rooms faster you have to stand around waiting for the group ahead to finish. We ended up having to wait a total of 30 minutes spread across four rooms because of this and was just wasting our time
UndercookedOmescape - SunnyvaleEscape roomIRLVery fun take on an escape room, you are putting together recipes rather than trying to escape the room. Set design and puzzles were all immaculate However I am very competitive and some cons here is that finishing everything faster does not add any points to your score, and also there were apparently bonus points to get depending on when you finish certain recipes and this was not told to us at all

The entire building is used as a single escape room and the puzzles are very unique but not impossible to solve. There are a lot of different rooms and settings to take you through the story and is extremely immersive.
