We might just have high standards after doing eclipse escape rooms yesterday but this room is the weakest out of the 15 we’ve done on the gc. We booked this room because it came out a few days ago and for a new room this has serious limitations. It’s one of the smallest rooms I’ve done with a small amount of puzzles to solve, I’ve done escape rooms in shopping centres that utilised space better than this room. One of the puzzles involved the lights going out, figuring out the next step afterwards might be worthwhile for new escape roomers but felt lacklustre and gimmicky to us. I’d recommend this room to a group of teenagers who want a spooky experience and don’t understand what an excellent escape room experience can be like.

An original design which I LOVE, the room fits so much into a smaller space which they nail considering the limitations of being in a shopping centre
The Vampire Crypt - CLOSEDRed Lock Escape Rooms - Sunshine CoastEscape roomIRLThis room was not bad, no big gripes besides the second room not being reset properly (and not being recognised by the GMs) and the lack of linearity. It’s disappointing when a room relies on the knickknack of getting players to search a room for something that unlocked relying on just a sound cue alone. The puzzles were fun, when they worked, but pretty simple in the world of escape rooms. This room overall is a fairly cheap and simple room and deservedly, being closed soon. Albeit, escape room novices will enjoy the novelty of it

They say to enjoy the narrative and listen to the story and 1000% they are right. This is an experience, not just another escape room

Lost in WonderlandRed Lock Escape Rooms - Sunshine CoastEscape roomIRLGreat room for the Sunshine Coast, design and immersion was top tier with a range of puzzles that needed out of the box thinking but we also were overthinking some of them. Got told off for taking photos of my friends and I assume it was because some puzzles required memorisation. The 1hr30 time limit is required as there is quite a lot of puzzles to do, mix of tech and locks, would recommend everyone on the Sunshine Coast do this room but nothing special to travel for. They make excellent use of a small space and 4 players was the perfect amount

Music was a little overwhelming eventually but plenty of dark corners for the live actors to hide. Not overly impressed with the puzzles in the end but the atmosphere was pretty good

It however is the weakest room at eclipse that we did out of flaming pearl and Blackwood manor. Good room but the bar was set so high, I think it’s a good decision they’ve made to retire this room in place of a newer more modern room. Can’t wait to come back and see what they’ve done!

Murder in the Prince of Wales Hotel 2Escape QuestEscape roomIRLI’m really starting to hate pianos in escape rooms, this room wasn’t bad but left us frustrated after 15mins due to a piano puzzle. One other lock we had the correct code but it wouldn’t pop, had to recycle one spool for it to pop. Overall exceeded our expectations from the negative reviews. Was actually a good experience after the frustration and I don’t feel like it was a waste of time or money! It’s a multi room escape experience which I appreciated with some clever aspects and a good use of technology and appropriate red herrings
Mad MonsterLost LocksEscape roomIRLIssues with mechanical components of the puzzle left us disappointed. Seemed simple but the puzzles were not clear and quite obtuse with their clarity, was no debrief with our game master compared to the other rooms which also disappointed myself.
