Neighborhood WatcherThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLtons of fun! loved the theming in this room. there were some really different “environments” throughout the game, but all sets were developed well. the clues and puzzles flowed well and the live actor integration didn’t feel unnatural and brought some *drama* to the game. the owners and game designers here CARE and it shows.

Captain Spoopy Bones and the Magnificent Quest For Some Other Pirate's Treasure!Doldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLour favorite pirate room that we’ve done! the story was cute and silly, and the room and set were done spectacularly. the puzzles were a mix of challenging and simple, but nothing impossible. good for larger rooms based on space and number of puzzles!
The Seventh RoomDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLsuper fun room - less jump scare, more general creepiness and putting yourself into scary situations to get clues. did it with 2 people and made it out with just a couple minutes to spare! one note - the room is not super accessible - be sure to have someone on your team that isn’t scared to climb or squeeze in tight spaces!
Puppet Heist: The Hand Of LifeThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomIRLthe theming and effects were great and the room was well done. i didn’t love the style of “puzzles” in this room and didn’t feel like i had a lot of direction (even with the written “instructions”). honestly, this would be a great game for kids to participate in though because it’s a fun theme, not scary, and there’s tons of instruct-able, hands-on components for them to help with.
At The Hop Ice Cream ShoppeDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLloved this room! the theme was so present through and through and i loved the storyline. it wasn’t overly difficult and was a super cute game. great for smaller teams or people that want a brain workout, but not a full brain marathon.
Bigfoot EncounterUnited Escapes of America - Lake NormanEscape roomIRLWe opted for the 90 min version of this room that is “harder”- not worth the money, defer that option. This game is not for enthusiasts- and honestly it is quite difficult for beginners. There were several times we knew how to solve a puzzle, but it was so convoluted, we had to keep guessing or asking for nudges to get there.

We really enjoyed it as enthusiasts, but it was nice for our partners to have puzzles that were not solely cipher themed or otherwise super challenging. Theme is super cute, room is very well decorated.
The Cabin - CLOSEDMake the XscapeEscape roomIRLI liked this one! Obviously a lower budget facility but I thought this one was well thought out- a few puzzles were kind of silly, but all in all, given the location and everything, and price- I’d recommend it if you’re in this area.

We are usually able to figure things out pretty well, but this one was just… all over the place. There were some puzzles/ideas I really liked, and others that frustrated us to the point that it wasn’t fun anymore. If you’re struggling with the hints/clues- it’s not a great sign.
The Crystal Cave - CLOSEDThe Valcarol MissionsEscape roomIRLThis was a cool room! Really fun if you’re into the post-apocalyptic theme. Puzzles were immersive, unique- but somewhat challenging for sure. Highly recommend checking it out- difficult for less than 3 or 4 people.

There is no flow- there’s no way to understand what clues are to help you with what locks- it was just chaotic. We had done 50+ at this time and could not figure out what the logic was. Not worth the money.

This one had a lot of surprises- flow was pretty good, and there were only a few hiccups. Split start games are always hard for 2 people, but we didn’t struggle as much as we have in other rooms.

Mystery MansionBreakout Games - CharlotteEscape roomIRLi’m reviewing this years later and cannot remember a single thing about this game. probably wasn’t terrible, but also not memorable. in general, i haven’t loved any of the games at this location. should’ve taken some of the hints from the universe not to come back (first attempt was squashed because there was an active shooter at the mall, second attempt was squashed from a car accident on the ramp off the highway).
Call of the AncientEscape Hour AustinEscape roomIRLsuch a cool room! the puzzles made sense and it was a mixture of different types of puzzles that kept it interesting. we were on a vacation in Austin and were glad to have added this as a stop.
