Hope EndThe Ministry Of PeculiaritiesEscape roomIRLBest in game actors we’ve experienced in an escape room. From the moment you step through the door you are drawn into the game. The puzzles started off slow for us but it picked up as the game advanced. Zero combo locks, everything was unique and well thought out. Instantly one of our favorite rooms.
The Weeping WitchCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis is the total package. The set, while small, was absolutely amazing and had some great effects. Plenty of puzzles to do in parallel. The live actor definitely kicked it up a notch - this was a scary room. Highly recommended.
The Tipsy TailorIntrepid Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLVery fun room - we had 4 but I can see this room supporting even more. There were a lot of puzzles with a combination of locks and more technical puzzles. Fairly immersive.
The Curse Of The Black KnightEscapeX Rooms - IrvineEscape roomIRLRemains one of my favorite rooms. The set used a very efficiently use of space. The experience felt very cinematic and the ending was probably my favorite out of all of the escape rooms I've done.
Hijinx at Joffre ManorNerdy by Nature Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis was an amazing set. They really make you feel like you are in a manor (and outside the manor). While most of the puzzles were intuitive, I think things started off a bit slow (there's a lot to do, but nothing at the beginning had the same wow factor as the later parts of the set). This still remains one of my favorite escape rooms - maybe in my top 3.
EdelineCloud EscapeEscape roomIRLThe set and special effects were great, as was the storyline. For a non-actor room, it had a real element of fear —nothing overly scary, but there was certainly suspense. The puzzles were just ok and linear, probably wouldn't be suitable for larger groups imo.
Wicked WonderlandEscape Room 66 - Laguna HillsEscape roomIRLThis was a very fun room. Mostly a lock and key escape room but plenty to keep everyone busy. It was paced really well.
Sev3nNo. 1 Escapes - Main StEscape roomIRLThis was a well-themed room. The room is solvable on its own merits, but if you have watched the movie it would add value. There was one puzzle where the mechanics weren't the most accurate, but afterwards we understood why. There were enough puzzles where you can multi-task and keep everyone busy (non-linear).
The HideEscape Room Era - AnaheimEscape roomIRLWe had fun. It's a scary escape room, but not too intense. Without giving away too many details, I wouldn't recommend this for large parties - 4, maybe 5 tops, although I'm guessing they can accommodate the larger groups with a simple alteration on their side. There's a limited number of puzzles, many of which are numerical-lock based.
The Secrets Of Shadow PointWild Goose Escapes - Huntington BeachEscape roomIRLMostly a linear room (which we typically find less entertaining) but the pacing of this room was good for a small group. Most puzzles were intuitive, there was one or two that were not and we had to take a hint. For a no actor room it did have some scare elements but still fine imo for teenager+.
