Sweethearts Ice Cream ParlourThe Cool SpaceEscape roomIRLThis was our first room as a couple after having done many rooms with groups of 4-5. I’d probably suggest a team of 3-4 especially if you haven’t done many rooms before. We used the full hour and needed some clues but glad we got to experience the full room as it did not disappoint! It’s a really fun theme and story with puzzles that related to the environment/theme and several unexpected surprises
Mafia: The Golden RingAdventure Rooms - Melbourne (Bourke St)Escape roomIRLThis was the second of Adventure Rooms newer rooms that we’d done - previous one was Speakeasy - so we expected high quality but Mafia exceed our expectations. It’s not easy. We escaped but only due to the lovely game master giving us a couple extra minutes because we were so close. Would recommend for a group of 3-4 who have done an escape room before as there is a lot to get through and some not so easy puzzles to solve.
Speakeasy: Secrets Of The Green FairyAdventure Rooms - Melbourne (Bourke St)Escape roomIRLWe’d done a few of Adventure Rooms other rooms and enjoyed then. This is one of their newer ones and it’s clear they’ve put a lot of effort and energy into designing a great experience. A good balance of traditional escape room puzzles with some newer things we hadn’t seen before. Would be good for a team with some newbies as wasn’t difficult for our team of experienced escape room enthusiasts
EspionageThe Cipher Room NewtownEscape roomIRLThis was one of the first escape rooms we did as a couple after lots of experience doing rooms with 4-5 people. It felt more traditional so would be perfect for those new to escape rooms but it was still a lot of fun for us having experienced a lot of different types of rooms. Some fun surprises and clever puzzles
Earthrise OneEarthrise OneEscape roomIRLThis experience takes immersion and theming to the next level with major world building and story, maybe to it’s detriment as I struggled to remember what the goal was and what we were doing, but my team members didn’t have that problem. There were some confusing puzzles/elements that took us a little bit to understand but overall this was a very clever and amazingly well put together experience
The Lost MineMission Escape Pitt StEscape roomIRLOverall liked this experience due to the uniqueness of some puzzles and elements, and that it didn’t have any lock/combination style puzzles so was refreshing in that sense, but there were some confusing parts. I wouldn’t recommend this as a first or second escape room. It’d be better suited to those who’ve done a few before and work well as a team.
