The Edison Escape Room

INCREDIBLE room! Though I’m reviewing this years after I first did it, I need to remark that after dozens more around the world, this room still stands out as one of the best ones I’ve ever done. The creativity of the puzzles, the technicality of the interactions, and the set design are stellar. It’s a little more old school so there isn’t an element of story immersion, but it doesn’t need anything more than what it’s got to remain one of the top rooms in the world.

WOW. Extremely high tech and deeply immersive room. Of the 50+ rooms I’ve done, this was the top experience I’ve ever had. At the end I was even more impressed to learn about the meta elements of design (eg they vary which puzzles you get based on your progress). The whole time we were laughing, running around, feeling transported into the experience, and working together through the puzzles. Not the best puzzles in terms of brainteasers, but good variety and incredible gameplay and world design.

Whoa, what an incredible open world style gameplay. Top escape room (experience more so) in Barcelona. Pay attention and take your time - lean into the immersion. Puzzles weren’t anything super special but the world building was next level! Ideal for 2 people; wouldn’t recommend more than 4.

Really well done. Enjoyed the storytelling, puzzles were creative and collaborative, and the set design was clean and solid. The unique concept made the immersion work without the need for any other crutches. Great for a group of 4 people; possible with 2 or 3 as well.

Fun room with very clever puzzles! The gameplay was nothing special and the room was a little dusty and out of date, but overall quite creative, with several puzzles that make you go “Ohhhhh” once you get it.

Such a great room with incredible gameplay and set design! We loved that the room and all the puzzles were extremely on theme. The puzzles were all pretty good and there were a *lot* of them - so much so that we forgot the end goal of the whole thing by the time we reached the end. There was some crawling around and ladder climbing but nothing intense. Two players is ideal even though there’s so much to do, since the spaces are fairly small and gameplay is pretty linear with not a ton of teamwork that would work for >2 players.

Incredibly cool room that is deeply immersive! Even the hint mechanism is built into the set and feels like a part of the story that you’re in. Overall, I think this should be at the top of the list alongside curium, and what’s more is that the puzzles here are creative, though there is a lot of information to sift through.

Solid puzzles, great set design, and interactive gameplay. One of the puzzles really tripped us up not on thinking of the solution, but implementing it, which was a chore. Besides that, it was great though.

WHOA - what an incredible set design, immersive gameplay experience, and great creative puzzles to boot. One of the top escape room experiences I’ve done yet, helped with solid acting. Would recommend 2-4 people.

Though I’ve done 30+ escape rooms, this was my first time doing a *horror* escape room, and it well surpassed expectations. The set design was immersive, spooky, and massive in scale. Rather than feeling like we were moving from one small room to another, it felt like we were exploring a nightmare space that continued to grow as we roamed. Along with the incredible atmosphere and set design, the puzzles were creative and high tech, and the mechanisms they used were well designed to build tension and give each party member a unique experience of the terror. We did this as a pair of 2 so we could experience all of the room, but 3 or 4 people would also have a thrilling experience. The game master (Brian) was extremely impressive as well! Huge kudos to him for making our experience so stellar with his acting, guidance, and even building up the tension beforehand via WhatsApp. Will definitely be checking out Krematorium (upcoming room) when I’m back in town.
