How much do escape rooms cost in Baltimore?

The average cost of an escape room in the United States is $25-$30 per person, but many of the top-rated Baltimore venues charge between $30-$40 per person. That said, some venues offer discounted rates for groups of 3 or more.

Which Baltimore escape rooms are good for kids?

Breakout Games, Mission Escape Rooms, and Smart Escape all offer rooms that are great for kids. While almost all escape rooms are suitable for kids older than 10, many spots require a parent or guardian to accompany any child 16 or younger, and some horror themed games can be scary. Some public rooms (those where multiple groups can be paired up) require groups with young children to book the entire room. Make sure to speak to the game master at the location before booking.

Which Baltimore escape rooms are good for groups?

Most escape rooms are good for groups. In fact, not many rooms allow fewer than 2 people per game. Breakout Games and Mission Escape Games both offer games that are perfect for larger groups of players who haven’t played a ton of escape rooms. All In Adventures and Escape Proving Ground offer a wide array of rooms, so any group is sure to find a game that fits their mood.

Can 2 people do an escape room in Baltimore?

Yes. 54 of the 57 open escape rooms within 25 miles of Baltimore take a team of 2. Some rooms charge for a minimum group size, so check the price for 2 before you book.

How Do Escape Rooms Work?

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
