“This is a great room for two people and is appropriate for all ages. The first part of the room has a good amount of comedy which my friend and I really enjoyed. Beautiful sets and fun puzzles. I understand why people love this room now.”

“This was a fantastic new game with a unique format that did not disappoint! Grant was a great GM and even spent a lot of extra time giving us insight into the design and development, which as escape room enthusiasts, we loved! His impromptu narration in response to our group’s activities were superb, hilarious, and added greatly to our enjoyment of the game. The production value is (as with most 60 Out rooms) off the charts and is super fun, engaging, and has great lighting and sound feedback as you complete puzzles and progress through the room. The puzzle difficulty felt appropriate for a medium-level room - they leaned a little heavy on ones needing hand-eye coordination and reflexes but we did enjoy some logic, math, and observational puzzle varieties. Overall a fun experience, made great by a passionate designer and GM - worth the time, price and wait.”

“This room was such a pleasant surprise! The theme was on point, and the immersion was fantastic. Our game master Ryan made the experience amazing! Some fun, surprises and enjoyable, challenging puzzles. Very satisfying!”

“This was a very nice room! It's a darker room where you're given light sources to use (love-hate relationship). The theming was REALLY NICE. Puzzles were challenging and different. The only downside was that there was at least one puzzle that was a bit finnicky/buggy. We got the idea of what we had to do but the puzzle wasn't registering our solution correctly. Other negative was that it was kind of hard to hear the GM on the staticky speakers. We often had to ask him to repeat what he said, burning through more of our time. One puzzle was particularly difficult, but we brute forced the solution once we had a couple parts solved. The ending shocked me because you had to literally break a golden rule of escape rooms to end it. Without the buggy puzzle and subpar speaker system, this room would be pretty top tier.”

“This was probably our favorite escape room to date. Super immersive, great production quality, and the staff/GMs made the whole experience come alive. We had just 3 people, but it still felt doable. This game will put your group’s bravery to the test, but that only makes it more memorable.”

“Jumanji was our first 60out escape room and it was great! We ended up finishing all the rooms at the Melrose location, and Jumanji was definitely the highlight there. It's really on theme, and knowing the general idea of the movie definitely makes it more enjoyable. Puzzles were fun and different.”

“This is a super fun one with a good amount of puzzles and fun/big set design. It's not the most difficult though. There are supposed to be more puzzles than usual and hence the room is 75 minutes long, but it felt like the same amount of puzzles as others and we ended up finishing in 50 minutes anyways. The storyline is fun. The puzzles were mostly different and fun. I'd recommend this room for something fun, but it's not the most challenging.”

“Great room. Staff was friendly and they had parking on site. The room was imersive and I would say the puzzles were moderately difficult for experienced players. If you're newer it may be more difficult as there are not always clear instructions regarding how to solve puzzles”

“We made it out!! Freedom at last!!!! This was our favorite prison break room so far. Definitely better if you do it with 2-4 people at most. Super fun immersive experience. Has some fun surprises during the experience. Highly recommend for everyone to do. GM was great in giving us a couple of nudges along the way to make sure we made it out and got the full experience. Can’t wait to try the other Rooms here.”

“Warlocked was so much fun, great for all ages. The characters and plot was very engaging. If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend doing this one either if it’s your first one or if you’re experienced. Mia also made the escape room exciting and fun!”

“To mirror what a lot of others have said, the hype is real for this room! We made the mistake of going in as only two people as was dumb and didn’t pay enough attention to room requirements. Let this be a lesson for others - this is a room that should at least four, but probably better with six people. That being said, with some help, we made it through most of the room before time ran out and the GM was kind enough to show us the solution to a puzzle so we could progress and have time to experience the rest of the room before we ran out of time entirely. I have a hard time believing this wasn’t an actual stash house that was converted into an escape room. The staging was entirely on point! The puzzles were so fun and drew upon a lot of west coast culture. They used more senses than typical escape rooms, which was a great addition. They were also really well thought out and flowed in a way that moved you seamlessly through the whole experience. Please, find yourself a group and do this room!”

“This room had everything I could want in an escape room! The story was funny, the props were fitting and the puzzles made use of them well, and everyone had something to do the whole time! One thing I thought was nifty was how puzzles could be solved in different ways. After we completed the room, our GM showed us how we could have solved some of the puzzles differently. There were a few moments where I definitely felt like an idiot, which was completely on brand for the room! The puzzle design was great! We loved the space and how everything was laid out. Everything was spread out, but it still all felt cohesive! The puzzles were completely varied. It’s so hard to talk about all the things we loved without spoiling anything. I’ll note one thing and leave it as a cautionary tale for others. There’s a puzzle in the first area that can be solved in multiple ways. One of those ways leaves you soaked if you aren’t careful and that can be a bit uncomfortable to run the rest of the room in. It sure was funny though! (They warn you about this in the beginning, I’m just not a very smart test subject…”

Unless you’ve visited Hollywood before, it can be hard to describe. It’s sunny, it’s wealthy, it’s full of diverse cultures, and at any given time you might see a famous person at Whole Foods. As you tour the many wonders of this desert dreamland, be sure to keep an eye out for Paramount Studios, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and treat yourself to an In-N-Out Burger (animal style). Aside from these attractions, Hollywood is also alive with some of the most unique and immersive escape rooms in the country. It’s no surprise, given that the city’s name is synonymous with some of the most iconic films of all time. There’s a lot to take in, but if you’re looking to be the star of your own Great Escape, here are the best spots in town.
The escape room scene is alive in Hollywood. Since the first escape rooms arrived in Los Angeles in 2016, the film capital of the United States hasn’t stopped crafting these immersive puzzle experiences. In fact, Los Angeles proper is home to 49 different escape room venues. If you look around, you’ll notice several places that are expanding the definition of experiential entertainment in Hollywood. From the expansive Escape Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard to the innovative Escape Revolution on Melrose Avenue, there’s plenty to experience in the City of Angels. With over 170 escape games in the entire area, the possibilities are nearly endless — you’ll find games with themes of horror, adventure, crime, espionage, and plenty you may not expect.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
