“I don’t usually like games themed like this but the way this room was done made it all flow well. Although puzzles were somewhat challenging they’re still practical and enjoyable. Adam made everything more exciting too as he explained details of why and how all the different rooms compare to each other from this location as well as many others. His enthusiasm was contagious :)”

“Becca was so great that I thought her starting spiel was real life and not just part of the room Wizards treasure. The room itself was also so beautiful that I was able to experience everything and not miss out on any part of the room. Loved it and thank you Becca for being so great.”

“One of my favorite rooms from Quest. Hugely thematic and well designed. The puzzles were cute and pulled together well. There was a good flow to the rooms, although here was probably only two parallel puzzles per room. Size of the room is also on the smaller size. Can feel a hair tight with 4; ideal group size is probabl y 2 or 3”

“This was the first room I’ve done with Quest. It’s location is a little sketchy so I’d avoid this location at night. The first thing I noticed when we entered the room was the production quality. The storytelling from our host/actor, Ryan, elevated this experience! Bravo! The puzzles were great but but most of them felt more like tasks. It was definitely on the easier side but it was soo much fun and satisfying. We also love Egyptian themed rooms and there’s not a whole lot out there.”

“Without a doubt, the best room I’ve ever done. It’s 50% escape room, 50% immersive theatre. While there are some solid puzzles, the focus is more on the experience. It was terrifying, exhilarating and unforgettable. I was seriously buzzing for hours after we left.”

“Welcome to Jumanji is an exceptional escape room that pays a stellar tribute to the Jumanji universe. I love themed rooms so I expected to love this one coming in. The puzzles were a bit lackluster but it delivers on the nostalgia. One of the novel parts of this escape room is that each player gets to choose a character from the movie. Based on your characters, your team has to work together to leverage each other's strengths. The minimum number of people for this room is four and everyone has something to do! This is one of the better rooms in the 60Out Franchise. As for the engagement of the puzzles though, I will say that I think it starts and ends well but the middle felt like a lot of filler. However, the surprise at the end makes up for it. The middle room also becomes nonlinear, which means that your group can divide and conquer. There is only street parking in Melrose, so plan accordingly. Lots of references to the movies, and all of the puzzles worked for us, but I could see how folks may have a different experience if the production does not deliver.”

“What a fun and surprising escape room this is! The theme is hilarious and you slowly uncover the mystery of what happened to grandma. I love that you start out in her house and then progress more and more. Lots of fun hidden places and good use of technology. I did this room with 4 people but you can probably do 5-6 especially if some are newbies. Lots to do and solve and the ending, if you get there, is so fun like you are actually escaping!”

“Very fun room but definitely agree with age restriction due to nature of the story. My son had a blast on the last puzzle were you get to break something. We felt pretty linear on the start point but as the story unfolds theres one puzzle you dont get to complete until the very end. Theres a ranking system and were on the 14th percentile LOL. Would totally require more than 3 people as elements take time to analyze (big space!)”

“This room was amazing. You really feel like you are in a prison. There is some physical challenges but also some really fun ones. If you have mobility issues make sure to let your GM know, so you can have as much fun as possible.”

“This is one of the must-do rooms in LA. Heads up not to get there too early because there is NO lobby or waiting room so you will wait outside until the GM brings you in. It’s an immersive experience right from the start. It’s puzzle-heavy and non-linear so PLENTY for everyone to do. There’s a reason you’re given 90 minutes! 6-8 is a good number of players for this room but I wouldn’t do it with less than 4 people. We had a group of 8 and it worked nicely. I had read that divide and conquer was the name of the game for this room and I completely agree. Super fun experience!”

“Yes. Do this room! Excellent story and decor. You really get immersed from the start. Some really good and unique gameplay in here and our GM was a superb host. Not much I can really say without giving away some fun moments here but think of this as a role reversal, where you are rats in the cage, while the rats are the ones testing you! We had a group of 6 but I think maybe 4 or 5 would work well. More than 7 might get a bit cramped in some places. Difficulty I'd say in the medium-hard range. Good for enthusiasts. Beginner's may find it a bit challenging in spots. Overall though, it was a blast and highly recommend.”

Unless you’ve visited Hollywood before, it can be hard to describe. It’s sunny, it’s wealthy, it’s full of diverse cultures, and at any given time you might see a famous person at Whole Foods. As you tour the many wonders of this desert dreamland, be sure to keep an eye out for Paramount Studios, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and treat yourself to an In-N-Out Burger (animal style). Aside from these attractions, Hollywood is also alive with some of the most unique and immersive escape rooms in the country. It’s no surprise, given that the city’s name is synonymous with some of the most iconic films of all time. There’s a lot to take in, but if you’re looking to be the star of your own Great Escape, here are the best spots in town.
The escape room scene is alive in Hollywood. Since the first escape rooms arrived in Los Angeles in 2016, the film capital of the United States hasn’t stopped crafting these immersive puzzle experiences. In fact, Los Angeles proper is home to 49 different escape room venues. If you look around, you’ll notice several places that are expanding the definition of experiential entertainment in Hollywood. From the expansive Escape Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard to the innovative Escape Revolution on Melrose Avenue, there’s plenty to experience in the City of Angels. With over 170 escape games in the entire area, the possibilities are nearly endless — you’ll find games with themes of horror, adventure, crime, espionage, and plenty you may not expect.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
There are plenty of awesome escape rooms to choose from in Hollywood. The goal of Morty is to make escape rooms more accessible for everyone to find and play. With Morty, you can: - Browse escape rooms anywhere in the country - Read reviews and ratings from other community members - Book a room together with your friends Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned escape room enthusiast, our aim is to help you play more escape rooms and visit more immersive attractions.
Most escape room venues don’t accept walk-ins, and time slots for popular games may fill up fast.
