“I'm not the biggest Hangover fan, but this room was still a lot of fun. Plenty of references to the movie to put a smile on Hangover fans' faces. Puzzles were a lot of fun, and there was excellent attention to detail when designing the room. Good amount of laughs to be had, and the last room had some nice surprises, especially the finish. There was one part I wasn't a fan of because it required singing a song we did not know (granted I now realise it's a very famous song), but we were able to progress nonetheless.”

“This was our fourth room at Prototype. We have always been warmly welcomed and had excellent gamemasters. All puzzles worked as intended and there were not any broken elements in the game. The game was original and every detail was well done. I highly recommend every room at this business!”

“IAnother creative room with great attention to detail! Intro video was catchy. Multiple rooms which were well built and relevant to the creative theme. All puzzles worked as intended and teamwork was required. Joe was always attentive and immediately responsive as our game master. I recommend this and any room at Prototype! Will return on next trip to Florida to visit the other rooms here.”

“Phenomenal game! If you are on the fence about whether or not to play it, play it! Plenty of scares, but if you're a fan of horror escape games, just maintain your composure and you'll be fine. Puzzles were great and fit the storyline as well. We've played over 100 games and this one's in our top 5!”

“This was the first escape room we did not escape, likely due to being the second room we did in the same day and we were tired and this being their hardest room. The room was very immersive and there were some dexterity puzzles and was overall a great experience!!”

“Such a fun room! Some mini games within the room and lots of mechanical locks more than some of their newer rooms but you are in an Era without much technology so that is to be expected. We had to have one clew in the second room to keep us flowing. Everyone made since and all of the puzzles worked can't wait to come back.”

“AMAZING ROOM!!! What a fun room. This is quite possibly the most fun I’ve had in an escape room. My partner and I had to be placed with randoms but they were great and we had a lot of fun. We even got the little girl in our group to escape her first room! The set was PHENOMENAL! Expertly done and fit the theme perfectly. Easily one of the best rooms I’ve ever done. Despite its 6/10 difficulty rating it was still quite tough given its juvenile theme. It was active, exciting and loads of fun.”

Perhaps older than most people realize, Jacksonville is a beautiful city that seamlessly combines its historical elements with its full on embrace of modern life. As one of the first settlements on the east coast, Jacksonville remains loyal to its colonial heritage - it was named after President Andrew Jackson, after all. The city has so much to offer its visitors, from the picturesque wetlands on Little Talbot Island, to the more vibrant MOSH (Museum of Science and History), Jacksonville has a little something for everyone. After a full day of fun in the sun, take a trip over to Riverside Arts Market for a bite, or perhaps catch a show at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts. Of course, a trip wouldn’t be complete without trying one of the cities amazing escape rooms, each of which is bound to surprise and delight.
Jacksonville has embraced the escape room community over the past few years, turning out some of the highest quality games in the region. Since the first escape rooms arrived in the city, this beautiful destination has fallen in love with these immersive experiences. In fact, greater Jacksonville is now home to nearly a dozen different escape room venues. Locker Room at Prototype Escape Games seamlessly embeds its puzzles throughout the its unique story. Prison Break at The Escape Game is a fresh take on the popular jail motif. Lock in Escape Room’s Flight 220 is perfect for larger groups of players that doesn’t require a lot of prior escape room experience. With over 30 escape games in the area, the possibilities are basically endless — you’ll find games with themes of horror, adventure, crime, espionage, and plenty you may not expect.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
