“Great ninja themed room with a variety of tasks inspired by Japan, pop culture, and Asia in general. There is one puzzle that requires putting your mouth on something, which we were hesitant to do in this post-pandemic world… The prop is sanitized, but… Other than that, I loved all the different hands-on puzzles. I felt like a ninja in training, believe it!”

“I’ve always thought an escape room with the concept of the movie Inception would be a great idea. This room nails the mix of dreamy visuals and puzzles that simulate going deeper. I enjoyed the various hodgepodge of themes. I wish that there was more of a connecting storyline to the different rooms, though. It was never really explained why or how these dream rooms connected other than I guess this old man thinks about these topics? Also, the set was nicely put together, although it definitely has seen better days. It’s otherwise a fun room with smart puzzles, great creepy spins off of reality, and funny jokes. Interestingly enough, I had a dream about escape rooms the night before doing this, but that probably just says more about me. Yo dawg, I heard you like escape rooms so I put dream escape rooms into your escape room dreams!”

“Bro! What a great game! Can’t believe we made it into the frat bro! Beautifully well done room. The puzzles were plentiful and difficult, but never unfair. Great use of space, mix of puzzle modalities and a fun set. Less actor interaction than other games, but still a rocking time, bro! I found the puzzles in here more difficult than others, but that just might be me. Great attention to details and high level of immersion. Definitely don’t miss out bro! Yeah!”

“The theme was decent and did what it needed to do, create a reason for us to be solving puzzles in the dark. The live actor chimed in here and there but wasn't a big part of this room. The puzzles that were solved in the dark were all tactile enough that they are quite doable (once you find them). There were just me and one other person and we bumped into each other on occasion. We had a good laugh, but I bet it could feel tight with a largish group. There was one puzzle that I wasn't sure if I would be ruining my chances of solving it by changing its start state. Instructions specifically for this room make a point of calling out the initial state of puzzles implying that if you change the state and don't remember what it started at then it could be a problem. But honestly I'm not sure I recall any puzzles where that was the case.”

“This was such a “feel good” room with the spirit of the best holiday aka Christmas. I so badly wanted to walk back into the real world and it be December! Puzzles were not too crazy. The game master was AMAZING! Jenna was so good!”

“Such an amazing game. The puzzles were very well done and fit seamlessly into the environment. It wasn’t just a random box somewhere. The story’s was really a nice add on and our GM Luke did a great job leading us and also playing along. This is the third room we have down with them and as usual, their sets are amazing. Can’t wait to come back!”

“I have been looking forward to visiting Escape Ventures and they did not disappoint. We were from out of town and played all 6 of their escape rooms in one day. It was such a great time and I cannot thank the team enough for treating us so well and making us laugh, chasing us around, and giving us the best experience of a lifetime. Now for Neighborhood Watcher: Our experience was 100000% so much better because of our actor. This room deserves all the accolades and I remember thinking, if this is how I’m going to die, it’s probably for the best. The live actor added to the thrill of the experience because you were never really sure how much time you had to work on each puzzle. The puzzles were thematic and their pacing felt just right. You could request to have less jump scares, but somehow we forgot to ask and we ended up getting through the experience. This is definitely a divide and conquer situation and the references felt nostalgic for the 90’s kids in us.”

“Loved this game. One of the best we have done. Coming from Virginia and only having time for a couple of games, I am glad this was one of them! Everything about this game was so well thought out and executed. Can’t recommend enough.”

“I loved this room! We took my parents here for their first escape room and we all had a blast. I didn't find it super challenging but it was very fun and interactive. I really have no notes, I just had a good time. The atmosphere and decor were great, the puzzles were fun, and non linear which I love.”

“Fun game with a spooky feeling. Our game host (Christine) was great! A nice mix of traditional and mechanical locks. Clues and puzzles all make sense! Parking is street or paid garage, so arrive extra early.”

“This was our first room here. We were very impressed by the high-caliber theming and decor in both the room and the lobby/common areas. The common areas have a modern design aesthetic very different from the steampunky vibe at most places. The room itself had fantastic decor, theming and props. Completely immersive. Special effects were impressive. A few jump scares which we loved but some people might not like. This is a linear room and story and challenges were well integrated. A few new things we'd never seen before. Very high tech and only a couple of locks. Highly recommend. Can't wait to try more rooms here.”

Orlando bursts with magic, mystery, and the best kind of mayhem. This star of the Sunshine State packs an insane amount of awesome in one area. Academics and fans of college athletics will know Orlando for the massive University of Central Florida. The football stadium (nicknamed the Bounce House) is home to the UCF Knights, who became NCAA National Champions in 2017. Orlando and surrounding areas are home to multiple major theme parks, each with unique attractions that make them worth a vacation on their own. You can be enchanted at Walt Disney World Resort, turn into a wizard at Universal Orlando Resort, meet marine life at SeaWorld Orlando, swim with dolphins at Discovery Cove, and build your imagination at Legoland Florida. It’s no wonder the escape rooms in Orlando are just as bombastic as its other attractions. Over a hundred escape rooms span the Orlando area, with countless incredible reviews and challenges ready to stump and surprise the most seasoned escape artist. From military missions to fantastical science fiction fantasies, Orlando has plenty of puzzles ready to be solved by curious minds.
The Great Escape Room was the first live escape experience opened in Orlando. However, it was far from the last. The Great Escape Room became a chain of escape rooms, and in the years since their initial opening in 2014, over a hundred live escape experiences have opened in the area. In the heart of America’s theme park capital, it’s only natural that the escape rooms in the area excel at incorporating unique themes. Many escape rooms have pivoted from the traditional “unlock the door” format to more collaborative takes on puzzle-solving.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
