“This isn’t just an escape room, it’s an adventure through multiple large temples! It’s basically The Legend of Zelda’s puzzle dungeons come to life! Everything works together in effective ways, from the fun live actor moments to the cinematic sequences, and a dazzling display of moving lights and music. There’s a bunch of verticality and puzzles that require looking high and low through the expansive spaces. And the fun comes in never quite knowing where you’ll end up next. There’s a beautiful finale that made the long trek worth it! Run, do not walk, RUN, toward the light!”

“Excellent overall. I loved the theme and the atmosphere. Having an actor and branching story paths is a really novel idea. They also have side quests. I didn’t feel a tremendous sense of agency about my choices / it wasn’t clear what the results would be, very “choose your own adventure” vibes where you don’t know what will happen until you make the choice. I never got a chance to replay before they closed, but apparently there’s two fully distinct paths of puzzles depending on your story choices! 5/5”

“Insane experience. Doors of Divergence just takes it to a whole new level of immersion. It is hard to describe. You’re basically inside a movie. The actors are top notch and really put their hearts into it. The story, from start to finish, including the bar, is just impeccable. The combination of this room and Heresy 1897 dethroned The Exit Games two games as our groups favorite escape rooms ever played (we have played over 100 together, collectively hundreds). Also, the clues were great. I don’t remember a single number lock. No time drains etc. Very unique clues and excellent use of environment/room props. You can spend anywhere from 1.5-2 hours in each room experience, and we really loved every second of it. Again, we have played top TERPECA and Morty rated games all over the US, and Doors of Divergence was just special. They pushed the limits on what an escape room is. Unfortunately they are temporarily closing, but we will be eagerly awaiting their opening so we can close out the story with chapter 3.”

“We did this with our kids and it was so much fun. They could keep up and solve the puzzles with us. (Ages 6 and 9). 5 people was a good amount. I think if room was full with 12 people it would be too many.”

“Once again, KOB proves that they know how to tell a story and make you a part of the action! I have the unique perspective of someone who played and loved the original version of this game when it was in England. As much as I loved it in it's original form, the team at Keepers has given it a whole new life, a new storyline and a refresh that gives it an all new feel. I was very impressed!! Thank you, Keepers of Balance for providing exciting experiences that challenge and entertain us in ways we haven't seen before! We are blessed to have you in the Charlotte market!”

“Great room by the escape game! The set and special effects were surprisingly good, especially in the first room. The story was fun too and had a solid plot twist which we enjoyed and didn’t see coming! Definitely recommend.”

“This room gets a love because we were brave enough to attempt it with our 2 & 6 year old and it was actually fun!! That told me what I needed to know about the flow. Our kids needed something to do CONSTANTLY, so there was very little time of just standing around- it felt like there was always some way to stay busy. It had unique puzzles, and mechanisms we hadn’t seen before (map puzzle for those who have already done this room). The staff was also amazing and let us “escape” despite being a few minutes over to help our 6 year old get the satisfaction of finishing it. We’ve been impressed by this chain and definitely think it stands out when compared with other chains. I would definitely say this room is kid friendly and a great starter room. The set was well done in rooms 1& 3, I found room 2 slightly lacking, but it made sense with the story/theme! And the transitions/ending sequence were super fun for us, but also the kids. Our 6 year old is now hooked (like us) as this was her first room. Great experience all around.”

“The wife and I enjoyed a birthday outing and we enjoyed chose to do Gold rush. We had Alex as a game master and he was great and very helpful. Room was immersive and had a great theme. Can't wait to return.”

Charlotte is a charming and upbeat city with a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and activities. Some of the things that make Charlotte fun include its beautiful natural setting, with its many parks and green spaces, its thriving arts and culture scene, its vibrant food and drink culture, and its many outdoor recreational opportunities. There are also many popular attractions in Charlotte, such as the Carolina Panthers football team, the Charlotte Hornets basketball team, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center. All of these things combine to make Charlotte a fun and exciting place to visit or live.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
