“Such a fun room The immersion … wow. It lives up to the reputation for immersion alone It’s a love letter to Goonies, Indy and any adventure movie. This is a fun room if you are an experienced player or new to escape rooms. Light on volume of puzzles or things to do but heavy or story telling which was just a joy to play Tidbits: Easy parking but hard to access on a heavy traffic day (right off expressway) Amazing waiting room; the immersion starts at the parking lot”

“We did this with our kids and it was so much fun. They could keep up and solve the puzzles with us. (Ages 6 and 9). 5 people was a good amount. I think if room was full with 12 people it would be too many.”

“We played Heresy: 1897 and Madness: 1917 back-to-back over two days, and the replayability is mind-blowing. It was amazing to see how the choices we made in Heresy completely altered the storyline, puzzles, and characters we interacted with in Madness. And then were different again the next day for our second playthrough. The actors are incredibly talented and truly bring the world to life. Watching Annmarie shift from innocent to intense, and Kat completely transform right before our eyes was spectacular. We enjoyed every interaction with all the characters at Doors, they're such a friendly bunch of people trapped in time. I absolutely cannot wait to return to explore the other storylines and see where our choices lead next! See y'all again a week ago, in nine months, and in 1917.”

“I highly recommend playing Heresy: 1987 first, before moving onto Madness: 1917 to get the full beauty and depth of the storyline and the magic that Doors has in store(s). Our second playthrough of both games the next day led to noticeably different puzzles, actor interactions, and outcomes, making the experience feel fresh rather than repeated. About 90% of the puzzles were unique each time we played. We really vibed with the storyline the second time around, and are thrilled with our outcome! Long live our queen [spoiler]! The actors are phenomenal and do far more than simply play a character, they make the entire world feel alive. One of the most enjoyable parts of replaying the experience was watching the same actors step into entirely different roles, each with their own goals, personalities, loyalties, and hidden agendas. We were especially impressed by the range Kat and Annmarie showed as their stories evolved in completely different directions across our playthroughs. We already know we'll be returning to the Paradox Bar. There are still many paths unexplored, too many choices unmade, and almost certainly more chaos waiting for us to quell/unleash.”

“We took a road trip down to Charlotte from Raleigh in order to experience Activate for the first time. It was an fun experience - the challenges were well-designed and the sense of progression via the gamification was well-done. I wish they would let less people in at a time, but it was still enjoyable.”

“Another super immersive adventure from The Keepers of Balance! I will come back for every room this company creates. This one had a beautiful atmosphere and fun effects. It is quite physical and someone in your party will need to be able to climb and crawl. My party of 2 had a fun time with Parker and Connor as our guides! I especially love the ending!”

“Great room by the escape game! The set and special effects were surprisingly good, especially in the first room. The story was fun too and had a solid plot twist which we enjoyed and didn’t see coming! Definitely recommend.”

“The staff was amazing and let us “escape” despite being a few minutes over to help our 6 year old get the satisfaction of finishing it. We’ve been impressed by this chain and definitely think it stands out when compared with other chains. I would definitely say this room is kid friendly and a great starter room. Our 6 year old is now hooked (like us) as this was her first room. Great experience all around.”

Charlotte is a charming and upbeat city with a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and activities. Some of the things that make Charlotte fun include its beautiful natural setting, with its many parks and green spaces, its thriving arts and culture scene, its vibrant food and drink culture, and its many outdoor recreational opportunities. There are also many popular attractions in Charlotte, such as the Carolina Panthers football team, the Charlotte Hornets basketball team, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center. All of these things combine to make Charlotte a fun and exciting place to visit or live.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
