“This room gets a love because we were brave enough to attempt it with our 2 & 6 year old and it was actually fun!! That told me what I needed to know about the flow. Our kids needed something to do CONSTANTLY, so there was very little time of just standing around- it felt like there was always some way to stay busy. It had unique puzzles, and mechanisms we hadn’t seen before (map puzzle for those who have already done this room). The staff was also amazing and let us “escape” despite being a few minutes over to help our 6 year old get the satisfaction of finishing it. We’ve been impressed by this chain and definitely think it stands out when compared with other chains. I would definitely say this room is kid friendly and a great starter room. The set was well done in rooms 1& 3, I found room 2 slightly lacking, but it made sense with the story/theme! And the transitions/ending sequence were super fun for us, but also the kids. Our 6 year old is now hooked (like us) as this was her first room. Great experience all around.”

“Great room by the escape game! The set and special effects were surprisingly good, especially in the first room. The story was fun too and had a solid plot twist which we enjoyed and didn’t see coming! Definitely recommend.”

“We did this with our kids and it was so much fun. They could keep up and solve the puzzles with us. (Ages 6 and 9). 5 people was a good amount. I think if room was full with 12 people it would be too many.”

“This is a great room, hidden gem! The set is fantastically done, there is a good mix of a few traditional locks and then some electronic puzzles. It’s clear the owners take pride in an immersive experience. Note this is not a scary room, so it’s fun for all ages! Minimum is 4 players. There are some challenging puzzles and is definitely a cerebral game in the beginning. Would recommend and will be trying their other room!”

“I loved this room. The overall gameplay flowed very well. The puzzles were difficult yet fun, we only had two people in our group and were able to break the monthly record. Overall I would highly recommend”

“Wow. We had wanted to come out here since KOB opened, and this room did not disappoint. Not knowing exactly what to expect, we were whisked away into an adventure that was unique, hectic, satisfying, and just enjoyable. It's hard to describe what this room excels at individually, because it's the combo of everything being so darn good that makes the room so satisfying to make through. While the puzzles aren't the most difficult we've done in a room, they flow, are themed, and are satisfying to figure out. The live actors only add to the experience, making you feel immersed in the story instead of being thrust into a room. I appreciate the dynamism of where this can take the stories they tell, as well as opening the game up to more people through gentle-assists that feel much more reasonable than waving at a camera that happens to be in an ancient tomb. I had really high expectations following along on Instagram, and this room truly blew us away. Huge shoutout to Josh for what he's created here, and the rest of the KOB team.”

“This game is so incredibly immersive but some of the puzzles seem to be abnormally difficult (this is coming from someone who considers herself to be pretty good at puzzles). Overall, I would highly recommend this game but would warn prospective players that they will be hit with very difficult puzzles immediately upon starting. I can’t say enough positive things about the immersive and interactive aspects of this room! The beginning of this room (aka the strangely difficult puzzles) set the tone poorly for our group but we were won back over by the immersive nature and flawless execution of the rest of the room.”

Charlotte is a charming and upbeat city with a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and activities. Some of the things that make Charlotte fun include its beautiful natural setting, with its many parks and green spaces, its thriving arts and culture scene, its vibrant food and drink culture, and its many outdoor recreational opportunities. There are also many popular attractions in Charlotte, such as the Carolina Panthers football team, the Charlotte Hornets basketball team, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center. All of these things combine to make Charlotte a fun and exciting place to visit or live.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
