Cutthroat Cavern13th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLAbsolutely stellar aesthetics. The game design had issues and was hard for only 4 players. Some of the features like the telescope didn't function right so it was a time waster. Overall though this escape room was something we "o-o-d and a-h-hd" about for several days. If you're going to do this game then I recommend you get a larger group like 6-8.
Down The Rabbit HoleThe Final DoorEscape roomIRLParts of this room were good but some weren't so I have mixed feelings about it.
The Weeping WitchCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLMixed feelings on this room -- it was very small and they kept turning out the lights which threw me off the game and after the second time it was just annoying. It was more like a really small haunted house type vibe and wasn't my idea of fun. They took a really small room with a little closet on the side and a crawl space and threw everything but the kitchen sink into the room. I've done a couple hundred rooms and would not rate this one among the best ones. Its hard to believe it won so many awards and even harder to believe all the rave reviews, they must have a lot of friends.
The Disappearance of Flight 1313th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLThis has to be the worst room at 13th Gate. The room did look like an airplane, but it was so cold we needed coats. We had to be told how to operate the seatbelts after we sat there for a good 15 minutes strapped in. We found a key but when we put it in the only keyhole it would fit, it would not turn, so we wasted more time looking for another keyhole only to be told that the lock on the door didn't turn and you had to shove the door open. Then there were clothes in the game which did nothing but were put in places where you would think should have something to do with the game. This game made no sense and deserves a big thumbs down.
Last ChanceNightwalker Caverns Escape Room AdventuresEscape roomIRLThis escape room is like a finely crafted story that takes you to a whole new world. The puzzles are unlike any other that we've played and ranks in our top rooms. It truly deserves an award for the clever props and uniqueness.
Salem 1692 - SpellweaverNightwalker Caverns Escape Room AdventuresEscape roomIRLLike all the other adventures that this business offers this one is also a standout. It takes the best of escape rooms and then throws in some live theater and a touch of haunted house to give everyone 90 minutes of fun. Highly recommend.
GoonezeNightwalker Caverns Escape Room AdventuresEscape roomIRLThis has to be one of the best escape rooms we have ever done. It's really big and you'll need the 90 minutes they give you to complete it. It had everything we needed for a really good time including a live pirate to assist us when we got stuck. The room is huge and we wound around caves, got wet, had to crawl a little bit and just got lost in the scenery around every corner. Don't worry about the pirate being too close for comfort, this place is so big the pirate doesn't follow you around but always managed to be there help was needed. We'll be going back for other adventures and highly recommend this room and this escape room business.
Krazy Eddie's FuneralNightwalker Caverns Escape Room AdventuresEscape roomIRLThis is definitely a one-of-a-kind room that we just loved and none of us ended up a d(ummy for attending the funeral. The actor in the room wasn't what we expected. Not sure where this family gets the ideas for their rooms but this one is straight out of the old Twilight Zone pulp fiction era. The puzzles meshed perfectly with the storyline. The ending was excellent.
The Voodoo CemeteryClue Carré - New OrleansEscape roomIRLThis ER was walking distance from our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. It was a little small and the puzzles were okay. It wasn't among our favorites but we were glad we tried it. We did another room at this location after going out for dinner. One of the puzzles was simply a reference to a movie star's tomb in New Orleans, others were a little more difficult but doable.
Wicked CavernLocked & CodedEscape roomIRLWe played this room while on vacation and it was decent. The first room had a lot of puzzles and the most combination locks I've ever seen in an escape room. It felt like we were just working one lock after another for no reason. The room also had some nice tech puzzles. The walls needed repair but the effects were still good. The second room's puzzles were more of a stretch but again it had a couple of nice props. We didn't finish because there were only 2 of us and just the number of puzzles was overwhelming. They had another room I'd like to do if I ever get back that way again.
