The Seventh RoomDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLI was teetering between a like and a love on this room, but ultimately decided that a couple of tech related sequences towards the end of the game pushed it over into the love category. I have previously stated that The Archive had the second best set I have seen in the Orlando area, and I now have to revise that ranking to third best. The Seventh Room may have just jumped Cinema 7 as the best I have seen. It’s a tough call as the sheer scale of Cinema 7 can’t be matched (I’ll just say that both are extremely well done and not declare a winner.) The story of The Seventh Room is fantastic, so I shall not spoil it. If you like the Tillman lore and the rivalry that has been set up with the Hardings, then you will like this plot. If you don’t care for any of that, you can still have a fun time in this room. This is touted as a scary room. I was fully expecting to be squealing and laughing in fear (a totally normal reaction I know), but that was not the case. The atmosphere and story are extremely unsettling, and there are a few really tense moments of anticipation, but I don’t think those moments pay off in anything too spooky. Frankly, as a non-horror person, that was perfect for me. I liked the suspense of it. Far more interesting than jump scares. Fear of the unknown is considered the greatest fear after all! There is what I consider some light gore in this room, which was more of a problem for me. No one else in my group was fazed by it though. There is also an Ouija board in the room, you don’t really have anyone use it traditionally, but it is there. If you are like me and will have nothing to do with them make sure you have someone on your team who is not bothered by it. The highly anticipated isolation portion (not a spoiler as you are told all about it in the pre-room spiel) was a bit of an underwhelming thing. The person we sent in there was only isolated for about 3-5ish minutes as the puzzle to get them out were very simple. Still a cool moment, we had just built it up too much in our minds. Mika was a fantastic game host as always! Hopefully we get to have her again in November when we plan on finishing out the last two rooms (assuming the new room isn’t open yet.)
The ArchiveDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLI wish I could love this room, but I just can’t. First off, the set design is top notch. One of the best designs in the Orlando area that I have seen, only outdone by Cinema 7 in my opinion (*update* having now played The 7th Room, I must lower this set design to third best… still great though!) The story is awesome. I love the Tillman lore and this story does not disappoint on that front. My main issue is the gameplay. Over-thinkers beware. There was one puzzle in particular that we wasted a ton of time on simply because I read too much into a particular written instruction I was given. One of the last few puzzles was also very frustrating in its implementation. So, yes, this one is a mixed bag. I loved aspects of it and was disappointed by others.
Camp Harvest Moon: Prank Wars '92Dare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLCute room. Nothing groundbreaking, but as a kid who grew up in the 90’s, I enjoyed the nostalgia of it.
One Eyed JackTrapped! Escape Room - Las VegasEscape roomIRLWe enjoyed Operation X-13 so much, that five of us stayed behind to take advantage of the 20% same day re-booking discount. This time we escaped from One Eyed Jack. Loved this room as well! So many unique elements to the puzzles. While I wouldn’t label it as a difficult room, the excellent flow of the puzzles and story made it absolutely worth doing! At least one person needs to be able to crawl (though we all chose to crawl to get the full immersive experience). We had Buggy as our game host, and they were great. Thanks to the entire Trapped staff for making our experience extra special!
Operation: X-13Trapped! Escape Room - Las VegasEscape roomIRLI booked Operation X-13 for my family while we were visiting Las Vegas. We had a group of seven, which made this particular room ideal for us to escape. I gotta say, Trapped is not lying when they say their rooms are immersive. We each had tactical vests for the escape, and some of us even had designated roles. I was in charge of communications, and I had a walkie talkie that we used to contact the Game Master. It was a ton of fun to role play as we escaped. This was a great room for a large group, and the fact that the room can be extended based on your performance is really cool. I highly recommend this room for players of all ages! We had Shanna as our Game Host, and she was a ton of fun to interact with!
Jewel Heist [prev. Jewel Thief]Evasive Escape Rooms - Kissimmee [prev. Edge Escape]Escape roomIRLThis was the second room I have completed at Edge Escape, and I must say that I was very impressed! This was an excellent room. The puzzles fit really well into the heist theme, and showed a level of high creativity. It can accommodate larger groups, but I wouldn’t recommend a group larger than 7 (we went with 8, and I would say one person felt that they didn’t contribute much). If you have not been to Edge Escape before then you need to try this room! I would say it’s an intermediate level of difficulty, but the unique tasks and puzzles make it worth an escape even for more advanced groups.
The Knights Of NorwichThe Escape CompanyEscape roomIRLThis was the final room we need to complete at The Escape Company (until they open the new revamped Pandorum). It is advertised as their easiest room, and I would agree. Once we got past one little hiccup we blazed through the rest of the puzzles. I am not holding it against the room as we really only did it to say that we completed them all. I would say it is a good room to bring younger kids (let’s say 7-12) to. There is enough they can assist with, while still a few things that can keep the adults in the room engaged. Having now completed all of the rooms here I would have to rank them as: 1) Pandorum 2) CSI: Suburban Serial Killer 3) Trapped in Neverland 4) Outlaw 5) Knights of Norwich I will be interested to see the new Pandorum once it opens to see how my ratings change.
Trapped In NeverlandThe Escape CompanyEscape roomIRLOur team has escaped yet another room at The Escape Company! We had a really fun time while we were Trapped in Neverland. The theme of the room was very family friendly, though some of the puzzles might be a little tedious for kids (they were fun for adults though!) it is a very tech heavy room with progression not being tied to physical locks and keys. We only had one small technical hiccup, but I could see how the room would be very frustrating if the tech were on the fritz. We did appreciate that there were enough puzzles that our group could divide and conquer towards the end of the game. It helped to keep everyone engaged. All in all, a solid room!
The RingmasterDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLMy team and I did Ringmaster and we had a blast! Mika was our game host, and she was so fun and enthusiastic. You can tell that she really loves her job! Ringmaster is another solid room. Due to the sheer number of puzzles, the room is less linear than Asylum. The story was interesting and more than a little disturbing. I cannot wait to see where the Dare2Escape lore goes next. Be warned though, this room will be closing some time in the near future. There isn’t an official date yet as far as I know, but if you are interested in playing The Ringmaster do not wait! While I would not classify this room as spooky or scary, there are clowns and balloons in it so if you have an aversion to those (like I do) keep that in mind when picking this room.
The AsylumDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLMy team and I did Asylum this evening and we had a blast! Mika was our game host, and she made sure that we had plenty of fun jump scares during our play through! If you want to follow the chronological order of the through story of all of Dare2Escape’s rooms, then you should start with Asylum. Asylum has an interesting story and really nice set design. It is one of the oldest rooms (if not the oldest room) here, but I think it has aged well. Interesting puzzles and some creepy moments. It is fairly linear so I would not take a large group into this room as some people will have little to nothing to do. I really appreciated that there were two white boards for us to use. A lot of rooms only provide one, but it made things so much simpler having two! Can’t wait to come back again and see where the Dare2Escape story takes us!
CSI: Suburban Serial KillerThe Escape CompanyEscape roomIRLThis is a fun room. A bit of a slow start, but it picks up. It is a very linear room so not the best for large groups as people might be left without things to do.
OutlawedThe Escape CompanyEscape roomIRLAnother good room. I wouldn’t say anything about it is particularly unique, but if you are looking for a solid family friendly room this is a good choice. The staff here is always super friendly and professional, which I really appreciate.
Pandorum - CLOSEDThe Escape CompanyEscape roomIRLHad a great time escaping this room. I was afraid our group might not escape as I know it is rated as a decently difficult room, but it wasn’t too bad for us. I guess it’s just one of those rooms that we had synergy with. Enjoyed the theme, and the fact that our party of 5 were always busy. No one felt left out of the experience!
The WoodsA Harrowing Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLI loved the idea of this room. The story had so much potential, and the ending could have really made it stand out. Unfortunately, I just don’t think that its full potential was met. The puzzles were mid-range and they didn’t lean into the ending as much as they could have. Despite the room’s flaws, we still had fun. I would love to see an update to the room to maybe improve the puzzles and flesh the story’s ending out even more.
Cinema 7Will To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLThis is by far one of the best rooms I have ever done! Fantastic set. Creative and engaging story. Excellent use of technology. I don’t want to spoil anything about the experience so just go and escape it for yourself!
Disappearance: Last LocationWill To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLAnother great room by Will to Escape! Great atmosphere and story. I don’t want to spoil it, so I’ll just leave it at that.
UFO: Go For LaunchThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomIRLUFO: Go for Launch was an excellent escape experience. The varied use of technology was really well implemented into the theme of the room. While the overall story of the room was not as compelling as the Possession at Haddon Heights, I would recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun and humorous escape experience. My team certainly experienced a lot of laughs. I can't wait to work with The Bureau again!
Hidden Temple [prev. The Society of Adventures and Explorers]Evasive Escape Rooms - Kissimmee [prev. Edge Escape]Escape roomIRLMy group and I had a fantastic time escaping at Edge Escape! There were eight people in our party, which made finding a room for us to tackle a bit trickier. Not only could Edge Escape accommodate such a large party in a single room, but the design of the room lent itself to splitting up to solve puzzles so everyone got to be involved in the victory. We escaped from Adventure “S.O.A.E,” and we will definitely be back to take on the other rooms soon! Thanks Hailey for helping us have such a great experience!
Possession At Haddon HeightsThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomIRLSuch a fun room! I can honestly say it is one of my favorite rooms in the Orlando area. We had a team of five people, and everyone was able to contribute to our victory in some manner. The set was top notch, the use of technology was well thought out and innovative, and the storyline was chilling with a healthy dose of dark humor. This is also one of the creepier rooms that I could actually recommend for young teens. The subject matter of the story is not too graphic.
Haunted HouseEscapology - OrlandoEscape roomIRLI have escaped at Escapology before, but I really wanted to share my latest experience there. My husband and I went with some of our coworkers to tackle the Haunted House room, and it was a fantastic evening! The room has quickly become one of my absolute favorites. The set pieces in the room were really well done. Each area we opened and explored offered a good variety of puzzles that allowed a group of 5 to stay involved at all times. The storyline of the room was engaging, and the only remotely negative thing I could say about the room is that I wanted it to delve into the backstory of the Haunted House even more because I loved what they did give us. I would note that there is a puzzle that requires the use of an Ouija Board to solve it. I don't recall seeing that warning on the site. We had people in our group willing to use it so it wasn't a problem, but if you are like me and won't touch one, you have been warned.
