The Heart of the MountainBeyond EscapeEscape roomIRLHeart of the Mountain is a really well-put together room start to finish. The atmosphere is excellent with non-linear gameplay that flows really well. There is a solid mix of puzzle types and tasks so that everyone should be able contribute and enough puzzles that our family of 4 was able to split up without running out of puzzles. Beyond Escape does a great job adding unique elements to their rooms and this one is no different. You can tell the owners really care about creating experiences beyond your run-of-the-mill escape rooms, and their passion really shines through in this room.
The Raven's TowerEscape Room Concord NHEscape roomIRLEscape Room Concord has been one of our favorite places to play for a long time and The Raven's Tower is one more example of what we've come to expect from them. The set is well done, the puzzles are fun and the owners are really great. It's clear that they have a ton of passion for escape rooms and providing top-notch service to their customers. There were enough puzzles to keep us, a group of four, experienced players, occupied the entire time. Thumbs up from us! Looking forward to playing the next one!
Escape from TimeoutBeyond EscapeEscape roomIRLEven though this is their easiest room, my family and I had a lot of fun playing it. The owners did a great job using their space to create an immersive environment and they have some creative, fun and unique puzzles. This would be THE room I would tell first time players to play. It has all the elements that make escape rooms fun. Puzzles were logical, had great flow and there were some really unique puzzles we had not seen before.
The ShiftBeyond EscapeEscape roomIRLWhat I liked most about The Shift is that the owners used the space they had to create an excellent environment for the game to take place in. Sometimes escape rooms polish things too much and the environment stops feeling like a place you are, and starts feeling like an escape room designed to feel like the place you're supposed to be. This room feels like exactly what it's supposed to be and I really appreciate how will the owners used this space. The room has a good mix of locks, tech puzzles and tasks to complete. I saw another review about scares, but I didn't find anything scary about this room and would have no issues bringing a young child to play (though I am certain they would have more fun playing Escape Timeout!)
Le Blind Tiger [The Blind Tiger]Escaparium - LavalEscape roomIRLThis was a big disappointment. It's a pre-made room I've played before with no indication that that's what it is... And it's not even a good pre-made room. It just doesn't belong here. The puzzles are so-so at best, and even having played it before we got sick several times because the rooms design is just not very good. Save your money. I wish we had. Okay their other rooms instead!
Castle HassleMystery NHEscape roomIRLThis is my favorite Mystery NH game in several years. It is on the easier side, but the set was well done, with an effective soundscape and dramatic lighting (which I did find a bit dim for locks/puzzles at at times). The puzzles in Castle Hassle were, as I said, easier, but with good flow and without any major laps in logic. The room did a great job keeping us moving along and we never felt like we were at a standstill. Looking forward to more like this from Mystery NH!
