Because as much as I love a nice detailed/themed escape room, it becomes a huge disappoint if the puzzles weren't on point. They were creative, but not super hard ... just enough to make you stop and think. The set designs and storyline were okay.

The storyline, set design, the creative puzzles ... you can even drink the beverages in the fridge! I loved this room so much that it shot up on my Top 5 Best ER of 2025. I highly recommend this room to everyone --- novices and experts escape room enthusiasts alike! Overall, 10/10. 🏴☠️🦜💰
Ghost StoriesBrain Games Escape RoomEscape roomIRLVery fun room! I like Treasure Island better, but this one was also very good. The entire premise of Ghost Stories is your team need to help free the spirits of the ghosts that are stuck in that attic. It was such a unique play experience in that there's multiple puzzles, but they don't make up one continuous story (if that makes sense). You do move on to the next puzzle ... so in that sense they are linear. I also appreciate that they provide you with quality flashlights because it's VERY DIM up there. 😬 Overall, very fun! Just be careful and watch we're you're going so you don't trip. 😆😅
The Secrets Of Shadow PointWild Goose Escapes - Huntington BeachEscape roomIRLFun room! It was my friend's first time doing an escape room ... idk if this was the best room for her because it was kind of scary and very dim so she didn't get to do much. My husband and I did all the puzzle solving and we still had 20 minutes left! 😁 Overall, I don't recommend for novices, but it's great for a huge group since it's nonlinear so y'all can divide and conquer. Also, I wish they'll give you a stronger light source than the lantern. RIP eyes. 😭😅
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLAhh! I love the story on this one. Set design was pretty cool too! But I love the twist in the story. I really wasn't expecting the ending. 😆 Anyway, I highly recommend this escape room for groups of 3+. My husband and I did this room (just the two of us) and we escaped without hints with 8 mins left. 😁 So it is doable to do with 2 people, but few puzzles in this room has multiple components that I think more people will be better. Overall, very solid room. Fun and love the storyline. 😁 Tbh, this room deserves an award for its creativeness and uniqueness. 😊
Something's Out There!Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLJust the right amount of scary! Thank God there's no live actors. 😆 Set design was sooo immersive from the moment you step in the room. It felt like as if you've been transported to the heart of Louisiana's Bayou. And like I said, just the right amount of scary. Nothing too crippling that it takes away from the actual puzzles solving. The puzzles itself were creative and fun. I actually like this room better than Whatever Happened to the Garretts? But I love the storyline in that one.
13th BasementExit Game OC - AnaheimEscape roomIRLWhat a fun room! 😁 Just really the right amount of scary -- a few jumpscares here and there but nothing too crazy. They utilized the lighting, sound effects, and set design so well to really create an immersive experience. The puzzles weren't too crazy hard either, but challenging enough for 2 people. Overall, very fun room. I love the theme! Christine and Jeremiah were amazing too! You can tell they put so much love, care, and passion in this room. Can't wait to come back for their upcoming escape room. 🤗
The Curse Of The Black KnightEscapeX Rooms - IrvineEscape roomIRLAhh! This escape room has one of the best set designs I've ever seen! The sound, the lighting, even the smell evokes all of your 5 senses and tricks you into thinking you're in an actual medieval castle! I had so much fun! But it was a pretty easy room for us. We escaped in 30 mins. even though there were only 2 of us. But, the experience is top notch. I highly recommend this escape room to everyone! Y'all should see and experience it. 🤺🗡

We were sure we got the right configuration, but I think there was a malfunction on their end. We were trying to ask for help/hints, but they don't have a good hint delivery system so we failed to escape. Afterwards, we had a back-and-forth with our GM who is definitely not at fault, but none of us could figure out what happened. We were telling her our configuration, but at that point the power was already off in the room so we can't even show her. Ohh well. 🤷🏻♀️

Shoutout to Will -- our GM! 😁 The puzzles were pretty easy, but we had a massive brain fart in the beginning, I think it's because we're anticipating something terrifying. Overall, it was fun, but not my favorite. I really hoped there would be more puzzles and rooms. It was a good "chill" escape room. 😊
EdelineCloud EscapeEscape roomIRLOne of those escape rooms that can terrify you without a live actor! Seriously! I tend to only get very scared when there's a live actor involved. But this escape room utilizes the sound and lighting to evoke the fear in you. 😨 Production set was top notch and the story was great too! I love how everything unfolded in the end unlike other escape rooms were the story just doesn't make sense in the end. My husband and I were so impressed with the set design. I love the attention to details.
The Fortune TellerNo. 1 Escapes - Sky ParkEscape roomIRLThe best room from the Devlin Manor Trilogy. I love how they incorporated elements of the Devlin Manor and Carnage Cabin in this escape room. The puzzles were creative and challenging, but not too bad. We did have to ask for hints a few times because we overlooked some things and we wasted time on some red herrings. 😆 But overall, a fun and challenging room. 😁
Lab RatHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLFinally got to do this escape room and I got to say it lived up to its reputation. It didn't disappoint at all. From the production set to the storyline to our GM, everything was crafted with passion. I was very impressed. This has got to be one of my favorite escape rooms of all time. Ohh, and I remember our GM telling us that we didn't break the all-time record for Labrat, but our team did get the best record so far for the year 2025. 🥳
The LadderHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLThis is one of the more uncoventional escape rooms because there is an escape room component (puzzles) but there are also mini games. Even now, I still don't get the entire concept. 😅 But I did this with 4 people. And 2 people (myself included) focused on the puzzles, while the other 2 (or 1, depending on how hard the puzzle was on that stage) focuses on the mini games. I was with go-getters so they were aiming for Messiah level (completed the puzzles and did very well on the mini games), but we fell short and only got President level. 😅😆 Our GM did say that our group was the only group who was able to achieve President level because everyone else achieved Clown status that day. 🤣 So that was still pretty impressive. 😁

It was spooky, but NOT scary. The puzzles were challenging, but not too bad. I was on the edge the entire time because I hate jumpscares and I was just bracing myself. 😆 Overall, amongst the 3 that we've done at Dead & Breakfast, this one was the best.
The StudyTHE BASEMENT: A Live Escape Room Experience - SylmarEscape roomIRLMy husband's friend and I were separated from the group and I seriously don't get why ... it absolutely didn't affect the story whatsoever and there was nothing we could do. So for the 1st 5 minutes or so, we were just waiting for my husband and his coworker to set us free. 😅 Overall, I put this 2nd after The Basement. I really like our actor who sort of fondled my husband who pretended to be Mrs. Tandy. 😆🤣
The ShelterMastermind MonastirakiEscape roomIRLWe had some downtime in Athens so we decided to try out their escape room ... and we came across this one. It was a last minute booking and this was the only one that was available for us to book that evening. It was a grueling 1hr and 40 mins 🥵😮💨 We had a strong start, and we were on a roll, but I guess as we progressed our stamina got depleted. 😅 The set design was immersive and on par with the theme. 👌🏼 The puzzles were creative, but some were just outright confusing and annoying to solve. 😆🤣 We still escaped in time, but barely. 😅
The DogHouseEscape Room 66 - Laguna HillsEscape roomIRLAHH! This was such a cute escape room. 😍🐕🐾 We've done all the other escape rooms at Escape Room 66, so when we found out that this was finally open for booking, we immediately went for it ... the room smelled like paint. 😅 I'm a huge dog lover and this is a dog-themed escape room ... how can it get any better than that? The entire concept of the room is similar to the game "Clue" (Who, what, why, where, and how) The props and set design were so adorable. I wish I could've taken lamb chops home for my dog. 😆😅
