Maze Rooms - Vermont

Right before we entered this room we were told 2 puzzles were fully broken and to just ignore them. The GM then handed us a paper that gave directions as far as which puzzles to solve in what order. They are still charging full price for this room, mind you. I can see why this room would be great if it was fully functioning. And I think I could have looked past the issues, if they hadn't handed us a map of how to solve the room... Then again, the final puzzle also malfunctioned on us, so our ending was simply our GM coming through the door and telling us it was over. We love Maze Rooms, but they really need to retire this room.

The atmosphere was very cool, but I walked away not feeling great about the puzzles. It's a hard room and there are a ton of puzzles, but my issue is that elements of puzzles felt recycled and not in a connected way. For instance they have an odd font they use for numbers and then in another puzzle the same numbers were now symbols to translate and not numbers. And the flow of puzzles was hard to follow considering the room was mostly linear. If you do this room my advice is have more than 2 people and be VERY observant.

Less escape room and more immersive theatre. There are some moments of being alone and needing to solve a puzzle, so pay attention to what the actors tell you. The different rooms and characters made it feel like you were in the movies. There's so many cute nods to the films, that I suggest watching them again before attending to feel even more immersed. The drinks in the 2nd bar were also better than the 1st, if you can hold out. Shout out to the dealer and the tailor for cracking us up. And the magician JR was awesome!

This room was so memorable. It might be one of my favorites I've done. We did the Asylum rooms back to back, which I recommend if you're up for it. But it is difficult with just 2 players and we only had a couple minutes to spare when we got out. The setup for the room is amazing and the way "hints" or info is given is awesome. Such an immersive room. This one is spookier than the 1st chapter, and in the best way. The awards this room has received are well earned.
