Deadman's ChestKW EscapeEscape roomIRLThe room is just okay, it’s a very small, single room experience that primarily surrounds opening a chest. A good bit of puzzles are in the room but nothing that overly stands out and gives you that “a-ha” feeling. KW escape has some absolutely incredible rooms so this one just feels like it doesn’t hit the mark in comparison. It is a bit cheaper than their larger, more intricate rooms but i definitely think it should be substantially cheaper to make it more worth your money.
The Secret GuildEscape Camp PictonEscape roomIRLThis escape room was such a fun experience! Taking place in one of the buildings at the old WWII training camp is such a cool historical experience and definitely adds to the immersion. The puzzles are all on theme and they make very great use of their space by coming up with unique ways to give those “ah-ha” moments without the use of technology. We found the puzzles to be intricate and fun, nothing was frustrating, however there are a few red herrings, not our favourite in an escape room but they weren’t too distracting. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and highly recommended, be sure to check out the other attractions while at Base 31 too!
Lost CityEscapology - WaterlooEscape roomIRLSuper excited to get to try out this new escape room location and it did not disappoint! The room was extremely well made and offered some unique puzzles within a very immersive scene. Highly recommend this place and I can’t wait to go back to do more of their rooms!
SeveredReady Set Go Adventures - MississaugaEscape roomIRLSevered was an enjoyable experience, most of the puzzles were fun and not overly difficult. We found one puzzle to be rather frustrating and it took up the bulk of our time to solve. Overall I would recommend the experience to others!
Escape AcademyCoin Crew GamesEscape roomVirtual Really fun virtual escape room for 2! The puzzles were enjoyable and the game is designed extremely well to make for a seamless experience!
Crashed on PandoraExitus Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis is Exitus’ newest room and I would say it is the best one yet. The set design is well made and looks beautiful and immersive! The puzzles are creative though sometimes the direction isn’t 100% clear (this could be due to chosen difficulty level). Would recommend this room to others.
Deckscape: Ciurma Vs Ciurma [Deckscape: Crew vs Crew]DV GamesEscape roomTabletopThis was a fun pocket escape room. It took about an hour to complete and this specific version of the game features a challenge with who you are playing with. We played 1 person vs 1 person and it worked out perfectly! We had a blast. Great date night activity at home!
Tesla's Time MachineNext Level Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLOverall enjoyed this room, had some fun puzzles and wasn’t too difficult. The room design looks great and the staff there was awesome !
The Ice CaveDaydream Adventures - DanforthEscape roomIRLThe set design is very beautiful and I really appreciate that it is entirely designed by local artists and staff! I felt that for an escape room it was a little lack lustre, not too much wow factor. The room would be best fit for a beginner or small group. We did it as 3 people and still managed to escape within 37 minutes.
Escape The Ghost ShipEscape The Ship - TorontoEscape roomIRLDefinitely a unique escape room experience being out on the water! The experience features fairly simple but fun puzzles that all relate to the pirate theme. We thoroughly enjoyed sailing around at sunset while completing the puzzles, it was a beautiful view! Highly recommend this adventure for escapers of all experience levels!
Where Dark Things Dwell [Outdoor]Secret City Adventures- Black Creek Pioneer VillageEscape roomIRLI thought this experience was very well thought out and offered such a unique and fun way to experience Pioneer Village at dark! I will say that there are far too many groups that are completing the experience at the same time as you so you are constantly seeing other participates and risking hearing their answers. That being said you work with your group only and there is tons of room to spread out! Our group had the spooky immersion broken quite a bit due to a wedding being held in the pavilion that is on the property; hearing Ed Sheeran and the YMCA while travelling through a cursed village doesn’t exactly fit the environment, our group was able to just laugh about this but I am sure it would be frustrating to some players looking for the full experience. The live actors do a fabulous job of making sure everyone is having a good time and that every group has a few scares. Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience!
Hong Kong AfterdarkOmventure - MarkhamEscape roomIRLThis 2 hour escape experience is fairly different than the typical escape room. The room features a different “win condition” outside of just solving all the puzzles in the room and that is a murder mystery type element. You must find and read through evidence throughout the experience. This is not everyone’s cup of tea in escape rooms so I understand the mix of ratings on this room. Outside of that element some of the puzzles are unique and fun, while others are frustrating and time consuming. Overall, the room is well made and could be greatly improved with just a few changes. Omescape has some of my all time favourite escape rooms, this one fell a bit short in comparison but is still worth completing for sure.
TwisterKW EscapeEscape roomIRLAbsolutely loved this room! The puzzles are all on theme and really add to the immersion that the room design creates! There is lots to do in this room, we played as two people and although we did escape, I would definitely recommend 3-4 people minimum because there are a ton of puzzles to complete! The only downside to this room is that the facility and all 7 of their rooms are separated only by walls, the ceiling is open. It can get quite loud in the facility which does break the immersion quite a bit, this is unfortunate as they do have high quality rooms! That being said, I wouldn’t let it deter you from this place! The rooms and puzzles are all very well thought out and lots of fun!
Motel BettyOmventure - MarkhamEscape roomIRLThis was my 115th room that I played and it has been a really long time since a room made it to the top of my favourites list, but this one certainly did. Having 2 hours to complete this room allows you to fully immerse yourself in the environment, you stop thinking about time and really get to enjoy the experience that the room offers. The puzzles within the room match the theme perfectly! The room features many unique and thought provoking puzzles which span across many different puzzle types, so whatever your strengths in escape rooms are, you are sure to find a puzzle that you enjoy. The scary atmosphere of this room adds so much to the experience and the live actor really pulls it all together. I can not recommend this room enough, especially if you are a fan of horror escape rooms.
RobotcalypseOmventure - MarkhamEscape roomIRLAbsolutely loved this room! It was extremely immersive from start to finish and had a theme I have not seen anywhere else! The puzzles are creative and exciting. A group of 4 is perfectly for this game as everyone will feel involved. Highly recommend!
Easy Bake CovenNiagara EscapementEscape roomIRLAbsolutely adore this escape room. The room is quite escape and very geared towards younger or newer players. We are very experienced in escape rooms but I am so glad we still decided to complete this room. It has so much charm and is extremely immersive. The puzzles are well thought out and fit in perfectly with the theme. Highly suggest this room in couples or small groups!
EXIT: The Game - Advent Calendar - The Hunt for the Golden BookThames & KosmosEscape roomTabletopA very unique spin on Tabletop Escape Rooms! We really enjoyed this experience and looked forward to solving our daily puzzle leading up to Christmas! The puzzles are creative and get you to think out of the box! Highly recommend! We will be purchasing the other ones for this upcoming Holiday season!
Spy Vs. Die 2.0Durham Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis room left our group with a bad taste in our mouth. The room has many puzzles that are extremely frustrating and unnecessarily complicated. Some of the tools that are used in the room are annoying and there is little direction to indicate when to use them. I think this room did have potential and I would still be willing to check out the other rooms at this location.
The CryptHintHunt Escape Games MississaugaEscape roomIRLI enjoyed this room. There were some cool puzzles and the room design looks fantastic. The first puzzle upon entering the room is very cool and it has really stuck with me since completing the room. This room is very immersive and does a great job at creating a creepy atmosphere.
Wizardry: Wizard TournamentEscape 60 - Downtown Escape Room ExperienceEscape roomIRLThoroughly enjoyed this room! Right from the beginning you are fully immersed as you feel like you have walked right into Diagon Alley from Harry Potter. The puzzles are fun, unique and immersive. I highly suggest this room. Escape 60 also has a fantastic bar area where you can sit before or after your game to have one of their many delicious and extravagant cocktails!
