We played Death and Taxes, which looks to be the first in a connected series of rooms, each popping up at real businesses around the SoCal area for a limited time. A truly unique and different type of experience. Death and Texes had us filing taxes in a real Tax Return business. Puzzles were clever, if familiar to escape room tropes. I really like the idea of an overarching story, and pop up locations across the area. An exciting fresh take on an old classic!

Full of secrets and mechanics that award careful but confident gameplay, solid puzzling skills and a curious attitude. We drove down from LA and it was totally worth it. We only heard about the game through Room Escape Artist, and I’m glad we did. I hope the game sticks around, certain built in mechanics reward knowledge gained from a first play through. I hope we get to play again!

Multiple branching puzzle paths that come together beautifully. Great use of space, and a surprising amount of varied puzzles make this a true one of a kind experience. This room is an absolute must do in Portland. The owner Tyler even opened availability specifically for us since we were visiting from out of town. Thanks Tyler! We were lucky to experience such a fun game the last day of our trip 😀
