Soup Du JourRock City EscapeEscape roomIRLThis escape room provided a solid and engaging experience with a clear narrative thread that guided players through a variety of well-integrated puzzles. Set within the atmospheric backdrop of a monastery, the room's décor and ambiance were fittingly detailed, contributing to an immersive environment. While not groundbreaking, the puzzles were generally well-crafted and stayed true to the room's theme, offering a mix of medium to challenging difficulty levels. One notable aspect was the interactivity throughout the space, where many puzzles were cleverly embedded into the room's layout, allowing for simultaneous exploration and puzzle-solving in the central chamber. The game's structure effectively utilized lighting cues to signify progress, aiding in maintaining momentum and clarity on which puzzles remained to be solved. The presence of a responsive game master, initially guiding the experience and later providing hints via speakers, ensured a smooth gameplay flow. Despite some areas where room elements could have been slightly enhanced for a more polished experience, the overall design and execution were commendable. With adequate clues and a 75-minute time frame, the room offered a satisfying challenge without feeling rushed. It stands as a well-rounded choice for escape room enthusiasts looking for an enjoyable blend of thematic immersion and interactive puzzle-solving.
Dunkle Machenschaften In Zaginis ZauberladenTIMEBREAK Mönchengladbach [prev. Exitout Live-Escape-Game]Escape roomIRLThis escape room, offers a good executed enchanting experience for fans of the magical world. The room is well-constructed with realistic props that contribute to a decent atmosphere, enhanced by details like a creaking floor. However, the overall ambiance, while good, wasn't really immersive in my opinion and could use some refinement. The puzzles are generally linear and clear, particularly for those with some escape room experience. Although the room didn't introduce many new elements, it still provided an entertaining experience with a few pleasant surprises. There were some notable drawbacks tho. The game master's voice was too quiet when providing hints, making it hard to hear the guidance. More significantly, the air conditioning was not working during our session. Despite repeated requests to the game master, the temperature remained unbearably high, which detracted from the overall enjoyment. Additionally, the abrupt ending of the game felt unsatisfactory and could be improved for a more fulfilling conclusion. Despite these issues, the room was well-designed and fun to play. Future players should ensure the air conditioning is functioning to fully enjoy the experience.
Die Flucht Aus Alcatraz 1 & 2 [Escape From Alcatraz 1 & 2]Escape Stories - ElberfeldEscape roomIRLEscape from Alcatraz offers an intriguing premise with its well-executed theme and initial strong impression. The Game Master provided a warm welcome and a clear introduction, setting the stage for what could have been an engaging escape room experience. The room's ambiance, while visually fitting the Alcatraz theme, was somewhat undermined by overly loud noises and music, making communication between team members challenging. Although this added a layer of difficulty, it often felt more frustrating than fun. The puzzles, particularly in the early stages, were well-aligned with the escape theme and offered a good challenge. However, as the game progressed, the experience started to unravel. A critical room element malfunctioned, leading to unnecessary time loss and frustration. Moreover, the red thread—the cohesive storyline—became increasingly unclear, making it difficult to maintain immersion. Despite being well-themed in the beginning, the puzzles themselves lacked uniqueness, with most feeling like variations of challenges seen elsewhere. This, combined with the lack of a clear narrative, made the game harder to complete, even for a team with considerable escape room experience. One of the most significant drawbacks was the lack of proper ventilation. Despite multiple requests, the air conditioning and fans were not turned on, resulting in an uncomfortable and overly warm environment that severely impacted our enjoyment. In the end, while Escape from Alcatraz has some positive aspects, the combination of technical issues, unclear storytelling, and poor room conditions left us feeling more disappointed than satisfied. Unfortunately und this conditions, it's not an experience we would readily recommend.
Der Fluch Des Neptun [Neptune's Curse]Hidden in Hamburg - Rickmer RickmersEscape roomIRLThe escape room set on a real ship offered a very cool and relatively realistic experience. Designed in a Neptune-pirate ship style, the fact that it was on an actual metal ship greatly enhanced the ambiance. The logical design of the rooms, allowing players to delve deeper into the ship’s interior, added to the immersion. The puzzles were moderately difficult, enabling the entire team to work independently and remain actively engaged throughout. Many puzzles were intricately tied to the ship's design, fitting seamlessly into the game's narrative. This coherence contributed significantly to the overall atmosphere. The unique setting makes this escape room highly recommended for those seeking a distinctive and memorable adventure.
Obscurus – Die Rettung der Magischen Welt [ Obscurus – Saving the Magical World ]The Code Agency - DüsseldorfEscape roomIRLThe room itself was well-designed, with interesting visuals and a nice interaction through the wall with an actor, despite no direct contact. However, we were constantly guided by the Game Master, leaving not much opportunity to explore puzzles independently. This heavy guidance made it feel more like being led through a story rather than solving it ourselves. Additionally, the room was really uncomfortably warm despite cool outdoor temperatures, and we couldn't feel the supposed air conditioning. Some puzzles had a clear storyline, while others lacked coherence. Unfortunately, one key element malfunctioned at the start, causing the Game Master to enter and fix it, disrupting immersion and indicating poor room preparation. While the room had interesting aspects, the experience was less immersive due to these issues.
Titkos Metró [Secret Subway]E-Exit Escape Room BudapestEscape roomIRLSecret Subway in Budapest is highly regarded, and it certainly lives up to its reputation, as well in Gamedesign, but also in difficulty. The experience was immersive, with multiple rooms and an impressive number of puzzles. Despite being exhausting when attempted by just two players, the story remained engaging. The room had a vibrant atmosphere and included a special game element that adds to the uniqueness, though it’s best left unspoiled. However, the initial room felt abit cramped, raising doubts about accommodating three to four players comfortably. The puzzles were very challenging, making it unsuitable for beginners. Overall, the experience was enjoyable and allowed for full immersion into the story. One puzzle was unclear in its execution and could have been better designed, but this was with the help of the gamemaster a minor issue. Despite the difficulty, the room provided a rewarding and fun challenge.

Its design is excellent, perfectly capturing the Aztec theme with a strong Indiana Jones vibe. The room is highly immersive, making you feel like you're truly in an ancient catacomb filled with traps. A surprising and humorous element adds to the charm, and the music enhances the overall atmosphere, making the experience more realistic. The difficulty level is moderate, with puzzles that flow naturally and don't require much external help. The storyline is clear, reducing the need for assistance from the Game Master. The room is packed with unique game elements I've never seen before. Additionally, it's located under an escape room bar, where you can enjoy a themed cocktail after the game, adding a nice touch to the experience. The cocktail was reasonably priced by Budapest standards, making the whole experience enjoyable and memorable.

Located in a residential area, this room offers an immersive experience that makes you feel part of a zombie apocalypse. The ambiance is meticulously crafted, and the room is spacious, accommodating many players comfortably. Demise of the GricersEnteredEscape roomIRLThis escape room experience stands out from traditional and other horror escape games, offering an intense, immersive horror scenario, which includes a unique element that can't be mentioned without spoilers. From the beginning, you dive into a well-thought-out game world with impressive atmosphere and attention to detail. The tutorial is beautifully designed and helps players understand the game mechanics. The team places great emphasis on safety due to the game's inherent risks, reinforced by helmets and knee pads. The game is very thrilling and horror-heavy, with outstanding acting performances. We played the short version, which was incredibly scary and entertaining at the same time. The extended version would have been even more interesting to continue the story. Overall, the difficulty level is high despite fewer puzzles due to more physical activity, and it is highly recommended for those who prefer a very unique horror escape adventure.
Geisterjäger Brandon Darkmoor [Ghosthunter Brandon Darkmoor]The RoomEscape roomIRLThis game is definitely one to remember. The ambiance throughout is incredible, starting the moment you arrive outside the building, which greatly enhances the vibe. You're given equipment to really immerse yourself in the role of a ghost hunter. The room features several unique elements that I don't want to spoil, but they are truly standout. This room is an absolute recommendation and ranks high on my personal favorites list. The use of light, sounds, smell, and tactile sensations was superb. The puzzles were unique, and the storyline felt like being immersed in a captivating book. The design was absolutely perfect, clearly showing the creators put immense thought into crafting it. The spooky vibe is well-balanced, providing a ghostly atmosphere without feeling threatening. All the puzzles tied seamlessly into the story, beautifully designed and highly engaging. Few rooms have left such a lasting impression. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a memorable escape room experience.
Die Gasse [The Alley]Rätselraum Ruhrpott [prev. Escape Room Bochum]Escape roomIRLThis escape room offers an unbeatable ambiance, strongly inspired by the Harry Potter theme without explicitly naming it. The influence of the film series is unmistakable, making this room a must-visit for fans. The puzzles are beautifully integrated into the setting, which initially resembles a highly detailed film set. The atmosphere starts off exceptionally strong, although it slightly diminishes as the game progresses. This means that while the initial rooms are fabulously designed, the later stages lose a bit of that film set quality. Nonetheless, the first few areas are so impressively crafted that it's hard to imagine how they could be improved. The puzzles fit perfectly into this magical environment, and the room is generally rated as difficult, as we encountered some challenging parts. For Harry Potter fans or those who appreciate cinematic sets, this room is highly recommended. It is a memorable experience that stands out for its impressive design and challenging puzzles.
The Amsterdam CatacombsLogic Locks - The Amsterdam CatacombsEscape roomIRLThis escape room initially gives the impression of being set in actual catacombs, especially when looking at pictures and its Google Maps location. However, a part of the game takes place in a regular church basement. This setting still provides a cool ambiance, though the first sections feature ordinary painted basement walls. The game transitions later into a more authentic catacomb-like style, with well-designed rooms and high-quality props. One unique aspect of this game is that it offers multiple endings, depending on whether you solve all the puzzles correctly and perform the right actions. Another notable feature is the inclusion of an actor, whose performance plays a significant role in the overall experience. While the game does not reach the level of horror found in some other escape rooms, it is of higher quality than typical games and provides a nice atmosphere with a storyline, that won't blow you away, but it isn't dull either. For those seeking a unique game in an unusual location, this is definitely worth trying. However, if you're looking for intense horror, you might be expecting too much from this game. Nonetheless, it is worth recommending, especially for its location and the use of live actors, albeit with the caution not to set your horror expectations too high.
Trezor: Tajemství Jacka Daniela [Safe: The Secret of Jack Daniel]The Padlock CemeteryEscape roomIRLThis Jack Daniels-themed escape room offers a beautifully crafted and unique experience. The puzzles are exceptionally original and fit seamlessly into the overall concept, providing a fun and engaging challenge. The ambiance is fantastic, and the progression through the game is ingeniously designed. However, the space is quite limited, making it a bit constraining even for two players, and the humidity in the rooms is relatively high. Despite these minor issues, the room stands out for its engineering creativity and distinct design. This escape room is highly recommended for those seeking a unique and memorable experience. It sets itself apart with its innovative puzzles and distinctive atmosphere, making it a standout choice for escape room enthusiasts.
Lost and FoundHotel Veloria [prev. Kamer 237]Escape roomIRLLost and Found is a testament to the meticulous effort put into creating an exquisite escape room that perfectly captures the ambiance of a hotel lost-and-found scenario. At first glance, the idea of searching for suitcases might seem mundane, but the story unfolds beautifully from this premise. The game spans multiple rooms and features a well-written, though slightly complex, storyline. The puzzles are designed for group play, allowing multiple tasks to be solved simultaneously and presenting a relatively high difficulty level. This room is definitely not for beginners, but it offers top-notch ambiance. Few rooms can match its atmospheric design and the seamless storytelling from start to finish. There isn't a strict time limit, as the Game Master mentioned they can be flexible, focusing more on the immersive experience. Even after the game, the ambiance continues as you remain in the hotel setting and can relax in the café. This continuation of the theme adds to the overall experience, making it very immersive and well-thought-out. Lost and Found is highly recommended for those seeking a unique, high-quality escape room experience. However, be prepared for challenging puzzles that require a good amount of effort and teamwork.

Dům duchů [The Haunted House]The ChamberEscape roomIRLHaunted House, Part 1 is absolutely amazing, with an incredible level of detail that brings the eerie ambiance to life. From the creaking floorboards to the numerous subtle touches, the creators have gone above and beyond to craft a truly immersive experience. Despite the absence of actors, the room maintains a constant sense of light fear, enhanced by these meticulous details. The puzzles are perfectly integrated into the spooky environment, featuring unique elements that are both innovative and surprising. Without giving too much away, expect some truly memorable and creative puzzle mechanics that elevate the experience. The challenges are not overly difficult, making it enjoyable to navigate even with just two players. The overall experience is akin to navigating a classic haunted house, providing breathtaking thrills and a sense of adventure. I wish I could forget and replay this room to relive the excitement. Part 2, which shifts towards a laboratory theme, is also highly recommended for its well-thought-out design and execution. Both parts are among the best I've experienced in terms of ambiance and immersiveness.
Zodiac Patres [prev. Útěk ze žaláře / Medieval Dungeon]The ChamberEscape roomIRLMedieval Dungeon is a visually stunning escape room with excellent ambiance and atmospheric lighting. The sound design also plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall experience, making it immersive and engaging. The presence of an actor further adds to the authenticity and depth of the environment, creating a memorable adventure. However, the room suffers from a lack of a clear progression in its puzzles. After solving a puzzle, it often wasn't clear where to proceed next, leading to frequent moments of confusion and the need for assistance. This lack of a coherent storyline or "red thread" detracted from the overall enjoyment. The puzzles felt more like a collection of scattered challenges rather than a linear sequence, making the experience somewhat disjointed. Despite the impressive setting and immersive elements, the absence of a clear flow made it difficult to fully recommend this room.
PanzerknackerLimbus Escape CenterEscape roomIRLPanzerknacker stands out due to its unique game design. Unlike typical escape rooms where puzzles are solved sequentially, this room uses a point system reminiscent of a heist. It allows multiple players to solve puzzles independently, keeping everyone actively engaged and even incorporating elements where players can fail certain sequences. The room isn't very large, but it offers depth, excitement, and time pressure, conveyed through interactive elements rather than a traditional timer. This unique setup makes it highly recommended. While it may not be my personal favorite, its distinct approach and engaging mechanics make it a standout experience that's worth highlighting positively.
CovenThe VoidEscape roomIRLCoven offers a very interesting atmosphere associated with a forest witchcraft theme. The rooms are detailed and the puzzles range from medium to high difficulty. While the storyline is not extremely prominent, it is present enough to tie the puzzles into the overall Coven theme. The game builds up to a finale, rather than ending abruptly as many escape rooms do. Players work towards a specific goal over a longer period, making the experience more satisfying. This is a game I would recommend, especially for fans of witchcraft and detailed, thematic experiences.
Endstation Linie 1 [Final Stop Line 1]RSCAPE - Escape Room RemscheidEscape roomIRLThis room stands out primarily due to its unique feature: a real train. The entire experience revolves around this element, creating a well-crafted and immersive atmosphere from start to finish. While the depth of immersion isn't exceptionally profound, the room offers a distinct concept not commonly seen in other escape rooms. The puzzles are moderately challenging and well-integrated into the overall theme. Some aspects of the room could have been better refined, but other elements were executed perfectly. The incorporation of the train into the gameplay was particularly well thought out and effectively implemented. The room was highly enjoyable, and I appreciate the innovative concept. I hope more escape room operators will take inspiration from such unique ideas. Thanks to the creators for delivering an engaging and memorable experience!
